Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

Suddenly, Bunny sat up straight, as if it had heard something. Just as it was about to jump off the sofa, it was grabbed by the scruff of its neck from behind and lifted into the air. Its four short legs flailed about, but it couldn’t break free.

Evan Fairchild strode to the bathroom and tossed Bunny into the bathtub.

Bunny struggled to climb out, but the sides were too slippery. It couldn’t get a grip.

”Stay!” Evan Fairchild said, closing the door and walking out.

He heard the sound of the front door opening. ’Melody Monroe must be back!’

”Mommy!” A small figure ran out from a room and threw himself into Melody Monroe’s arms. ”Mommy, I finished my homework!”

Melody Monroe picked Ian Monroe up and kissed his little cheek. ”You’re amazing, sweetie!”

Watching the little brat clinging to his woman, Evan Fairchild felt a pang of frustration.

’Why can’t I ever be the first one to get a hug when she comes home?!’

Melody Monroe walked into the living room holding Ian Monroe. When she saw Evan Fairchild looking unhappy, she put Ian down, knelt, and whispered, ”Did Bunny get into trouble? Did he make Mr. Fairchild mad again?”

”No! Bunny was being good. It’s Mr. Fairchild who’s being petty,” Ian Monroe said immediately.

”Where’s Bunny?”

”It was just in the living room a moment ago.”

The mother and son looked all around but couldn’t see any sign of Bunny.

”Mommy, do you smell that?”

Melody Monroe sniffed the air.

’Is that... meat?!’

The mother and son exchanged a look and quickly ran toward the kitchen!

Sure enough, a stew pot was plugged in and steaming. The smell of meat was wafting from it!

Melody Monroe’s heart clenched. She immediately lifted the pot’s lid.

”Mommy! Is Bunny really being stewed?!” Ian Monroe was too short to see what kind of meat was in the pot.

”No, it’s not... it’s chicken.” Melody Monroe let out a quiet sigh of relief.

She turned around to find Evan Fairchild standing in the doorway, looking even angrier than before!

Melody Monroe felt a little awkward.

With a triumphant little snort, Bunny peeked out from behind Evan Fairchild’s legs. The moment it saw Melody Monroe, it scampered over happily.

Melody Monroe didn’t dare to look at Evan Fairchild’s expression.

”Next time, I’m stewing it!” Evan Fairchild declared, then turned and left.

”Mr. Fairchild!” Melody Monroe quickly chased after him.

Evan Fairchild walked into his room and slammed the door shut! Melody Monroe, left outside, raised her hand to the handle. The door wasn’t locked. She gently pushed it open a crack.

”Get out. Go be with your pig!”

Melody Monroe was speechless.

She walked into the room and closed the door behind her.

”Evan.”

Evan Fairchild’s body stiffened, and he glanced back at her.

Melody Monroe immediately walked over and tugged on his sleeve. ”I shouldn’t have jumped to conclusions. I was wrong. You’re so good to Bunny, it’s like you want to be its father! Even a vicious tiger won’t eat its own cub. I was just overthinking things.”

”Hmph!” Evan Fairchild pulled his arm away, clearly still angry.

Melody Monroe quickly moved around in front of him and burrowed into his embrace. ”Don’t be mad anymore, okay?”

”No. I’m still mad. But it’s subsided a little.”

’She didn’t know how to appease people, but hearing him say that, she felt her approach was working after all.’

She immediately hugged him tighter and gave him a peck on the cheek. ”Don’t be angry anymore, okay?”

Evan Fairchild suddenly lifted her up.

Melody Monroe felt a chill on her back as she was pressed against the wall.

He was holding her up, making her a bit taller than him. She suddenly leaned down, kissed his forehead, and wrapped her arms tightly around his shoulders.

”From now on, when you come home, you hug me first. You’re not allowed to hug anyone else before me.”

Melody Monroe looked at his serious expression, smiled, and nodded. ”Okay, Fairchild.”

”What did you just call me?”
