Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

Shannon Paxton shook her head. ”No, we’re going to keep filming!”

’She had already made up her mind. At her age, she was already considered old in this industry. If she didn’t get her big break soon, she might never get another chance.’

”Why? We clearly have a better option right now. How can you pass up such a great opportunity? You have to know, once you miss it, you might never get a chance this good again.”

”In this business, hard work is useless. Connections are what matter most. Are you sure you just heard Melody Monroe say she’s going to keep filming?”

”Yes, that’s what she told her assistant.”

”Go talk to the production team. See if they can postpone the audition for a few days.”

”Okay, but I can’t make any promises.”

”It’s fine. Whatever the outcome of this choice, I’ll accept the consequences myself.”

”You’re staying because Melody Monroe also agreed to keep filming this show?”

”Yes. Melody Monroe has backing; she’s not short on resources. If I can become friends with her, or even sign with Stellaris myself, would I have to worry about not getting opportunities in the future?”

”From what I’ve seen, Melody Monroe doesn’t seem very approachable.”

”To be honest, I’m not confident either. I’ll just treat it as a shot in the dark. You have to take a gamble in life sometimes.”

...

The next afternoon at four o’clock, Felix Hughes appeared on time in the hotel conference room.

All the cast members of the show had arrived, except for Eileen Scott.

”You’ve all had a day to think it over. If you’ve decided not to continue filming, you can sign your name here and leave. The production team will pay you a prorated fee according to your contract.”

”I have other arrangements, so I’m very sorry, but I can’t continue filming.”

The first to speak was a relatively young cast member who had been on other variety shows before. Among all the cast members present, besides Melody Monroe, he was one of the more well-known ones.

”I can’t continue filming either. I’m truly sorry.” Another person stood up.

Shannon Paxton glanced at Melody Monroe, her eyes fixed on Melody’s reaction.

Melody Monroe remained seated, perfectly composed, which reassured Shannon somewhat.

’The role in that show was a bust. I have no status and no connections. The moment my Manager brought it up, they were immediately shut down. It was pure luck that they had even considered me for the part; they would never wait for me. So now, I’m pinning all my hopes on this show—and on Melody Monroe.’

A total of four people stood up and left.

Felix Hughes looked at those who remained and said sincerely, ”Thank you all so much for your support, for choosing to stay and continue filming.”

Especially Melody Monroe, who was still here.

’It must be because of Rose Shaw. Melody Monroe and Rose Shaw are so close, and since I’m getting engaged to Rose, Melody is naturally giving my work her full support.’

In truth, he was also extremely anxious about continuing to film under so much pressure.

After all, this was the first show he had produced since coming to Jansburg East Television.

Therefore, more than anyone, he hoped this show would be a hit. He also hoped that the cast members who stayed—the ones who believed in him—would gain the fame and fortune they deserved because of it.

”Next, I’m going to go over the new rules with everyone. Because the show’s format is being adjusted, the previous rules have to be revised...”

The meeting ended around six o’clock.

Not a single person from Melody Monroe’s group had left. Their group had been quite popular before, so Felix Hughes decided to keep it intact.
