Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

”Why does a kid need a cell phone? Don’t you already have a phone watch?” Evan Fairchild disagreed.

He could tell that if the little rascal didn’t need to ask him for anything, he’d be even cockier. If Ian Monroe got his own phone, he wouldn’t have to go through him to contact Melody Monroe. ’That just won’t do.’

”If you miss your mom, you can use my phone to call her.”

”But what about when you’re busy? Or when you’re not around?”

”I’ll manage my schedule. I won’t be home later than seven in the evening.”

”Not after seven, ever?”

”Never after seven.”

Listening to the conversation between the father and son, Melody Monroe’s heart warmed.

Ever since Ian Monroe had moved in with him, Evan Fairchild had gone home every day to be with him.

And now, he was even promising to be back before seven every day.

”Listen to Mr. Fairchild. You’re still too young; we’re not buying one for now.” Of course, Melody Monroe hoped the relationship between father and son would develop well. So, this time, she sided with Mr. Fairchild.

Ian Monroe couldn’t believe his mom was actually agreeing with Mr. Fairchild! ’Is Mr. Fairchild really going to steal my mom away?’

”Let’s go.” Evan Fairchild picked up the large suitcase beside him.

The three of them went down to the hotel’s private underground garage.

”President Fairchild, Madam, Master Hale.” Tommy quickly got out of the car and greeted the three of them.

Melody Monroe still felt a little awkward hearing that form of address.

”Tommy, you came to Jansburg too?” she asked. She had only seen Evan Fairchild and Ian before and thought Tommy hadn’t come.

”I came right after President Fairchild.”

”Ian Monroe, get in the car first,” Evan Fairchild instructed softly.

Tommy immediately stepped forward, picked up the two suitcases, and went to open the car door for Ian Monroe.

”Tommy will stay for a few days to handle the transfer of the house deed.”

”Transfer of the house deed?” Melody Monroe was a little surprised.

”I bought a house in Jansburg. You’ll be filming here often in the future, and when I bring Ian Monroe to Jansburg to see you, we can’t just keep staying in a hotel.”

”Oh.” Melody Monroe nodded. Staying in a hotel was indeed rather inconvenient.

”The house still needs to be decorated. You should still be in Jansburg for a while, so could you find some time to talk to the design firm about the renovation? Tommy will be staying to help out too.”

”Decorating? I... I don’t know anything about that.”

”You don’t need to know anything. Just decorate it according to your own tastes.”

”I...”

”Whatever you like, Ian Monroe and I will like it too.”

Melody Monroe was truly at a loss for words. ”I’ll pick out the decorations and style, and then I’ll check with you. After all, this isn’t a small matter. It’s better if you confirm it.”

”Alright,” Evan Fairchild nodded.

”Mr. Fairchild, I haven’t told Ian about your relationship with him yet. I want to find the right time to tell him.”

Evan Fairchild glanced toward the car. Ian Monroe was watching them the whole time. ’That little rascal has a mind of his own. He’s known about our relationship for a while but never told Melody Monroe.’

”There’s no rush. I believe Ian Monroe can sense it himself. It just depends on when he’s ready to accept me.”

Evan Fairchild’s words filled Melody Monroe with gratitude. ”Mr. Fairchild, thank you.”

”This time, what are you thanking me for?”

”I don’t know either. I just feel like I should thank you.”

”If you want to thank me, then show some sincerity. Double it.”

Melody Monroe: ...

With the way he did the math, she had no idea how much she owed him anymore.

”Get in the car.” Evan Fairchild walked forward and pulled open the car door.

Melody Monroe hurried over.
