War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

Yang Yun Xiao, the Heavenly Emperor of the Floating Heaven, killed Kong You Yi with just a thought.

The members of the Heavenly Palace of the Floating Heaven gasped; for most of them, this was the first time they had seen Yang Yun Xiao making a move.

“Yi’er!” The Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor cried sorrowfully. Apart from hatred, fear could be seen in his eyes as he looked at Yang Yun Xiao. Although he was powerful, he was nothing in front of his master.

“Junior Nephew Duan,” Yang Yun Xiao looked at Duan Ling Tian and said with a smile, “I’ve killed Kong You Yi since he was the instigator. As for Kong Fen, is it okay to spare his life since his actions were born out of his love for his son?”

Without waiting for Duan Ling Tian to reply, Yang Yun Xiao continued to say, “Naturally, Kong Fen will still be punished. He’ll be imprisoned for 100 years…”

Duan Ling Tian’s heart sank when he heard Yang Yun Xiao’s words.

On the other hand, Elder Huo’s raised an eyebrow.

It was clear to the duo that Yang Yun Xiao was trying to save the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor’s life by pushing all the blame to Kong You Yi. What kind of punishment was it to be sentenced to 100 years of imprisonment? It was nothing for someone like the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor. Moreover, who could guarantee Yang Yun Xiao would keep his words after they left?

Before Duan Ling Tian could speak, Elder Huo said, “Lord Heavenly Emperor, don’t you think your disciple’s punishment is too light? Although he was not the instigator, he should be held responsible for his actions as well…” His expression darkened at the end of his words.

Yang Yun Xiao did not respond to Elder Huo. Instead, he turned to look at Duan Ling Tian. Naturally, he knew who called the shots.

“I feel the same as Elder Huo,” Duan Ling Tian said solemnly.

Yang Yun Xiao narrowed his eyes. “Junior Nephew Duan, you think the punishment is too light as well?” Just like before, he did not wait for Duan Ling Tian’s reply before he continued to say, “If that’s the case, I’ll increase the duration from 100 years to 300 years. Junior Nephew Duan, this should satisfy you, right?” After he finished speaking, he looked at Duan Ling Tian meaningfully.

Duan Ling Tian’s expression darkened; he felt as though he had been insulted.

Just as Duan Ling Tian was about to speak, he received a Voice Transmission from the Purple Spike Celestial Emperor.

“Duan Ling Tian, it’s obvious my master is determined to save my Second Senior Brother. No matter what you say, it won’t change his mind unless your master is here… I’ve underestimated the importance of my Second Senior Brother to my master…”

The Purple Spike Celestial Emperor was surprised by this outcome as well. She had been certain her master would not forgive the pair of father and son for their actions. After all, their actions could lead to disastrous consequences. Everyone knew how protective Feng Qing Yang was of his people, let alone his true disciple. She did not think her master would only kill Kong You Yi.

“Perhaps, my master doesn’t think that Heavenly Emperor Feng Qing Yang will be dissatisfied with his decision, They’re friends, after all. Moreover, no one can say my master has dealt with this matter inappropriately since it’s hard to determine how great the responsibility my Second Senior Brother should bear in regard to the matter….”

Duan Ling Tian, who was furious, calmed down after he mulled over the Purple Spike Celestial Emperor’s words. In the end, he said, “Since Heavenly Emperor Yang has spoken, I have no objections.”

Duan Ling Tian’s attitude had obviously turned frosty. He did not even bother to address Yang Yun Xiao as Senior Uncle.

Yang Yun Xiao had already expected this so he remained calm. He said, “Since the transportation site in the Heavenly Palace of the Floating Heaven is destroyed, it will take some time to rebuild it… Junior Nephew Duan, if you’re in a hurry to leave, you can go to the transportation site nearest to my Heavenly Palace. If you’re not in a hurry, you can wait for the transportation site here to be rebuilt…”

“We’re in a hurry to return to the Solitary Destructive Heaven,” Duan Ling Tian replied tonelessly. He did not want to stay a moment longer. After bidding farewell to the Purple Spike Celestial Emperor, he left with Elder Huo.

At the same time, discontentment and dissatisfaction flashed in Elder Huo’s eyes. After they left, he said furiously, “How dare Yang Yun Xiao protect his second disciple so shamelessly? Isn’t he afraid our Lord Heavenly Emperor will demand an explanation from him?”

“Even if master looks for Yang Yun Xiao, Yang Yun Xiao would still push everything to Kong You Yi and insist that the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor had only acted out of love,” Duan Ling Tian said as he shook his head, “Think about it. If master decides to let things slide, then the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor will live. If master demands an explanation, at that time, it’s not too late for Yang Yun Xiao to kill the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor to appease master. Either way, Yang Yun Xiao won’t have to bear any consequences. He’s really a sly old fox…”

Before today’s incident, Duan Ling Tian had a rather good impression of Yang Yun Xiao. It helped that Yang Yun Xiao had given him a unique treasure even if Yang Yun Xiao did not know how precious it was. The treasure was so precious that it could help Huang’er upgrade the Seven Orifices Exquisite Sword to a supreme-grade divine artifact.

However, after today’s incident, that good impression had diminished greatly. Since Yang Yun Xiao refused to kill the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor, he decided to acquiesce. He would just treat it as an exchange for the small bead he received. The only reason that old fox had given him a gift was only due to the fact that he was Feng Qing Yang’s true disciple, after all.

“Young Master, you’re wise.” Elder Huo sighed. He realized Duan Ling Tian was right after he thought about it for a moment. Yang Yun Xiao, the Heavenly Emperor of the Floating Heaven, had boldly protected his disciple because he had thoroughly calculated everything. Just as Duan Ling Tian had said, it was not too late to kill his disciple if Feng Qing Yang expressed his displeasure later on. With this, he successfully grabbed the chance for his disciple to survive.

Duan Ling Tian and Elder Huo left the Heavenly Palace of the Floating Heaven feeling frustrated.

…

In Yang Yun Xiao’s cultivation ground.

The Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor looked at the white-haired old man with bloodshot eyes.

“Kong Fen, I hope you won’t blame me,” Yang Yun Xiao sighed as he said, “I had to kill your son to save your life. Since you’re both at fault, I have to do something as an explanation for Feng Qing Yang. If I don’t act, the situation will escalate if Feng Qing Yang shows up later. Since your son is dead, it’s unlikely that he’ll personally come to demand an explanation and risk falling out with me. However, if he really does come and demand your death, there won’t be anything I can do to protect you. Therefore, you should consider your next step carefully. It’s up to you if you want to continue to stay here or leave and find a place to hide. Your fate is uncertain if you stay here. If I were you, I’d leave temporarily until we can determine Feng Qing Yang’s stance…”

“Master!” The Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor fell to his knees and kowtowed. “Please forgive me for being disrespectful after you killed Yi’er! I thought you would kill me as well to appease the Young Master of the Heavenly Palace of Solitary Destructive Heaven. I didn’t expect you to protect me.” After he finished speaking, he kowtowed another three times to his master.

“You’ve been with me for so many years… How could I do nothing and watch you die?” Yang Yun Xiao shook his head and sighed. “Kong Fen, have you decided? Will you stay or leave?”

“Master, I’ve decided to leave,” the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor looked grim as he said, “I refuse to let someone else decide my fate even if he’s the Heavenly Emperor of the Solitary Destructive Heaven!”

Killing intent flashed in the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor’s eyes. He was determined to avenge his son. Although Kong You Yi was killed by his master, Yang Yun Xiao, his master had done it to preserve his life. How could he blame his master? For this reason, he pushed all the blame to Duan Ling Tian.
