War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

Just a joke?

Upon hearing the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor’s words, not only Elder Huo and Duan Ling Tian were stunned, but even the Purple Spike Celestial Emperor and the members of the Heavenly Palace of the Floating Heaven were stunned.

They did not expect the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor could be so shameless. However, after they thought about his current situation, they did not find his reaction surprising, considering the desperate situation he was in. Perhaps, they would have done the same if they were in shoes. After all, if the situation continued to escalate, even their Heavenly Emperor of the Floating Heaven would not be able to save him. However, did he really think such a lame excuse would work?

The Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor looked at Duan Ling Tian and humbly said, “Duan… Young Master, since my son has been disrespectful to you, I’ll certainly punish him severely and make sure he doesn’t appear in front of you in the future. Is that okay with you?”

“Quit playing the fool,” Duan Ling Tian glanced at the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor. It was clear he refused to let things slide. He said frostily, “Since you and your son, Kong You Yi, want to kill me, how can I just let you get away with it? Is the Heavenly Palace of the Solitary Destructive Heaven a joke to you? In the future, am I supposed to let those who fail to assassinate me go just because they begged for mercy? How ridiculous! If you were in my shoes, would you let me off?”

The Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor’s expression soured for a moment before he continued to maintain the forced cheerful smile on his face and said, “Young Master, since your wife is my Third Junior Sister’s disciple, it means I’m her senior uncle. Can you forgive us for the sake of my Third Junior Sister?”

Upon hearing these words, Duan Ling Tian shifted his gaze to the Purple Spike Celestial Emperor who had just arrived.

The Purple Spike Celestial Emperor’s expression darkened when she heard the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor’s words. She felt a burning sensation on her cheeks when Duan Ling Tian looked at her. She said icily, “Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor, when you tried to kill him, didn’t it cross your mind to hold back for my sake?”

The Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor was taken aback. The Purple Spike Celestial Emperor was clearly trying to alienate herself from him by addressing him using his title instead of using the term ‘Second Senior Brother’. She had clearly drawn a line between them, making it clear she was not going to help him. With this, it was clear to him that there was no turning back.

Left with only one choice, which was to flee, the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor dashed toward his son, Kong You Yi, to bring him away.

Kong You Yi was still frozen in shock after the Purple Spike Celestial Emperor confirmed Duan Ling Tian’s identity. Although he had mentally prepared himself, nothing could prepare him from the fear and panic that rose from the bottom of his heart.

Duan Ling Tian was the Young Master of the Heavenly Palace of Solitary Destructive Heaven.

“Yi’er, let’s run away!”

Kong You Yi finally regained his senses when he heard his father’s words. His eyes brightened immediately. In his opinion, it would be difficult for him and his father to escape due to his father’s speed. Even if his Third Junior Aunt was stronger than his father, her speed was slower since his father comprehended the law of wind.

“Trying to flee?” Elder Huo naturally knew the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor was going to flee when he saw the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor make a beeline for his son. With this, golden flames danced in his eyes before he suddenly flashed and transformed into a giant golden bird that was the size of a small hill. Golden flames raged around the bird, making it look dazzling even from afar.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Although the law of fire that Elder Huo comprehended did not boost his speed much, as a flying Celestial Beast, he was gifted with speed. Coupled with his comprehension of the law of fire was higher than the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor, his speed was on par with the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor.

Instead of the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor, Elder Huo flew toward Kong You Yi. He knew the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor would not leave without his son.

“No!” The Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor did not expect Elder Huo to be so fast after reverting to his true form. His expression changed immediately. Then, without any hesitation, he abandoned his son and fled toward the distance.

Since Elder Huo’s speed was only on par with the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor, it was difficult for him to catch up to the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor since the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor had a headstart.

If the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor was an outsider, it would be difficult for him to leave the Heavenly Palace of the Floating Heaven. However, as a titled Celestial Emperor in the Heavenly Palace of the Floating Heaven and its Heavenly Emperor’s second true disciple, he knew the Heavenly Palace like the back of his hand. Since Elder Huo was not familiar with the Heavenly Palace of Floating Heaven, it would be impossible for him to catch up even if Elder Huo’s speed was faster. For these reasons, Elder Huo did not bother to give chase at all. Instead, he turned to look at the Purple Spike Celestial Emperor, whose expression was unsightly, and solemnly said, “Purple Spike Celestial Emperor, please inform the Lord Heavenly Emperor of the Floating Heaven about this matter… I demand an explanation from the Heavenly Palace of the Floating Heaven!”

“Rest assured, Elder Huo. The Heavenly Palace of the Floating Heaven will give you a satisfactory explanation,” the Purple Spike Celestial Emperor said. At the same time, she sent a message to her master, Yang Yun Xiao, the Heavenly Emperor of the Floating Heaven.

Meanwhile, Duan Ling Tian looked at Kong You Yi, whose expression was twisted, and smiled faintly. “Kong You Yi, your father is really amazing! He can even abandon his son.”

“Duan Ling Tian!” Kong You Yi glared at Duan Ling Tian and solemnly said, “My father just sent me a message… He wants you to know that if you dare kill me, he’ll never let you get away with it even if you’re the Young Master of the Heavenly Palace of the Solitary Destructive Heaven! You can’t spend the rest of your life being a coward and stay in the Heavenly Palace of the Solitary Destructive Heaven, can you?”

“Oh? Is that so?” Duan Ling Tian sneered.

Smack!

At this moment, the Purple Spike Celestial Emperor slapped Kong You Yi’s cheek and said indignantly, “Kong You Yi, even if Duan Ling Tian doesn’t kill you today, the Heavenly Palace of the Floating Heaven won’t let you get away with this!”

“Third Junior Aunt.” Kong You Yi held his swollen cheek as he spat out a few teeth. He looked at the Purple Spike Celestial Emperor and said in a grave tone, “My father wants me to tell you that if the Heavenly Palace of the Floating Heaven kills me, he will kill the members of the Heavenly Palace of the Floating Heaven as soon as they leave the palace. If I die, he’ll definitely avenge me.” A smirk appeared on his face when he finished speaking. He looked at the members of the Heavenly Palace of the Floating Heaven meaningfully.

Was the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor crazy? He was willing to make an enemy out of the Heavenly Palace of the Floating Heaven because of his son? Did he have a death wish?

The Purple Spike Celestial Emperor looked at Kong You Yi and said airily, “Do you think he’s capable of running away?”

Kong You Yi was taken aback when he heard these words. An ominous feeling rose in his heart immediately when he saw the triumphant smile on the Purple Spike Celestial Emperor’s face. He sent his father a message immediately, panicking. “Father?”

After a while, Kong You Yi still did not receive a reply from his father.

Swoosh!

A gust of wind blew past suddenly before an old man appeared out of thin air, surprising everyone. The old man’s hair was completely white, but his appearance was rather youthful for his age. A person with a grim expression on his face stood next to the old man; was this not the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor who had just fled?

When the members of the Heavenly Palace of the Floating Heaven regained their senses, they hurriedly bowed at the old man.

“Greetings, Lord Heavenly Emperor!”

Yang Yun Xiao, the Heavenly Emperor of the Floating Heaven had finally arrived after catching the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor who apparently failed to escape. He looked at Kong You Yi, who had turned pale, indifferently as he said, “I’ve already heard about what happened…”

“Both of you are really bold to attempt to kill the Young Master of the Heavenly Palace of the Solitary Destructive Heaven!” Yang Yun Xiao said as he looked at the Almighty Wind Celestial Emperor and Kong You Yi.

Kong You Yi hastily kneeled and bowed at Yang Yun Xiao before he pleaded, “Grandmaster, it’s all my fault! Please forgive me! Grandmaster, I’ve learned my lesson so please forgive me!”

Kong You Yi knew his grandmaster loved him dearly, hence, he pleaded with his grandmaster. However, he had underestimated the severity of his actions.

Yang Yun Xiao’s expression darkened further when he heard Kong You Yi’s words.

“You useless brat!” Yang Yun Xiao barked.

Following that, Kong You Yi exploded into a mist of blood without any warning.
