Emperor’s Domination

Yun’er inhaled deeply to regain composure. She then bowed and said: “Please revive my father.”

“You know the price of reviving such an existence.” Li Qiye shook his head.

“You owe me one, does it cancel out?” She paused briefly before asking.

“Strictly speaking, no, it hasn’t reached this height.” He said.

She turned pale; her heart skipped a beat.

“Then I will do it myself.” She clenched her fists.

“This will ruin you, the curse will follow you until you wish for death.” He sighed.

“Choices have consequences.” She said.

“Reviving the dead might not be the right path.” Qian Suyun interjected.

“He is my father.” Yun’er didn’t change her mind.

“He will be killed again.” Li Qiye said: “The same just as before.”

“Why?” She asked.

“You don’t know your father well enough then. Putting his connection with Octopus aside, he would never give up his ambition regardless of how many corpses fall from the sky, not even in death.” He said: “He will try again. The only thing different this time is that you will bear a curse. Is that worth it?”

Yun’er’s expression changed.

“He was not a child and made his choice.” Li Qiye said.

“I know, but no one can say for sure what will happen.” She gritted her teeth.

“Sound logic, but not in this case. I can revive him, but I will kill him in the next second.” He said.

“You!” She glared at him.

“Some people shouldn’t exist, Octopus and your father.” He said.

“He has no feud with you.” She said.

“Yes, and that’s the case between the other celestial immortals and me. Alas, as you said, I must do what should be done.” He said: “But yes, I do owe you and will repay the karma via another option.”

“What option?” She saw some hope in his words.

“I can revive him so that you can spend some time together, but I will kill him afterward. The time will be short, you need to be sure.” He said.

“Is there any other option?” She asked.

“I can sever his everything and let him reincarnate. Who knows what he will become? Perhaps a blade of grass or a human again, that’s up to his fortune.” He said.

“You cannot revive him fully?” She didn’t want either option.

“No, for reasons mentioned previously.” He refused: “Either say goodbye or let him reincarnate. This is your choice, your karma.”

She stood there in a daze. After a long time, she asked: “If he reincarnates, will he ever return to being himself?”

“How many celestial immortals have you seen in the river of time? Becoming a human again is already good enough.” He shook his head.

“But you can do it.” She said confidently.

“I can, but it’s a meaningless task for me.” He said.

“Can’t you show a little leniency?” She said sorrowfully, almost pleading.

“If I can show leniency to others, I can show leniency to myself, and that will be the end of this world. Since I won’t do it for myself, why should I grant it to others?” He asked.

“These are your best options.” Suyun said.

“What will happen when my father reincarnates?” She asked.

“I do not know, it depends on his resolve. If it is not enough, then he’ll become nothing more than grass or wood.” He said.

“What’s the point then?” She murmured.

“It didn’t matter that he once stood shoulder to shoulder with the high heaven. All of that disappeared when he died thoroughly. If he wants meaning again, then he must do it himself.” He elaborated.

She let out a sigh and looked to be in deep thought.

“Only by holding steadfast can one walk down the path without falling into damnation.” Suyun said softly.

Yun’er stared at Li Qiye, wavering with indecision.

“You can think it through, I will give you time. After all, time doesn’t exist here.” He smiled.

However, she didn’t need long before firmly deciding: “Then I must trouble you with sending my father to the next life.”

“This is a great gamble, nine losses out of ten bets.” Li Qiye said.

“So be it, he will have to rely on himself.” She said solemnly.

She wanted to see her father again to say goodbye properly. Everything happened so fast back then that she didn’t have the chance.

However, she hoped he would have another chance to live as a person. This trumped her personal pain and trauma. She also trusted his resolve to come back properly.

“Very well, I shall grant your wish. Let this karma be settled here.” He nodded and summoned Incinerator’s corpse. The dao erupted to form heaven and earth.
