Emperor’s Domination

As she rested on Li Qiye’s thigh, the two chatted and laughed joyously, forgetting all else.

They resembled two good friends who haven’t seen each other in a while, with a friendship that had only grown with time.

“Sigh, you have to leave.” She said sentimentally.

“Yes, I do.” He replied.

“I’ll follow you.” She winked and suggested again.

“The issue is not with me.” He shook his head.

“Why can’t you just nod and agree for once, take the initiative?” She complained.

“That doesn’t change anything.” He smiled.

“Bah, you can just say that an ant such as myself can’t handle riding the back of a dragon such as yourself, that I’ll fall and die.” She said.

“It’s not that either.” He said.

“Then what’s the problem?” Her slightly confused expression was rather charming.

“I’m afraid it won’t be you anymore.” He smiled.

“I still have to cut the root.” She nodded after understanding.

“I believe in you.” He nodded, showing great confidence.

“Well, once I do, you will already be long gone to abandon me.” She said.

“You don’t need anyone, so there’s no abandoning.” He argued: “The path is long, you have to walk it yourself.”

He let out a sigh while looking at the horizon afterward.

“I know, I know.” She waved: “I don’t need anyone to carry me, I can walk the path myself.”

“You are both fast and steady.” He patted her head.

“Don’t put it like that when you’re abandoning someone.” She joked.

“If I carry, then I will no longer be a passerby.” He became emotional.

“So emotionless and cold.” She said.

“I can only say one thing.” He spoke slowly.

“What?” She asked.

“I’m powerful to a frightening level.” He sighed.

“Yes, you are.” She paused for a moment before caressing his face: “I pity you, just the way you pity the high heaven.”

“It’s that bad?” He chuckled.

“As you said, the high heaven has a dream in the fantasy. What about you?” She asked.

“I suppose there is none right now.” He stroked his chin and sighed.

“The truth is that you know the results already, down to the smallest details. However, you still have to carry them out.” She said.

“It’s karma, and it must be one.” He said.

“What do you gain afterward?” She asked.

“Nothing, because this is to give back with gratitude. The same can be said about you, you know you will die but still try hard each day until the inevitable.” He said.

“In my case, there is still hope and within this hope, potential and colors. You, on the other hand, know what will come.” She said.

“That’s why it’s not that great being powerful.” He said sentimentally.

“You speak of karma but in my eyes, you are merely playing along. In truth, you don’t have to do it at all.” She said.

“How so?” He smiled.

“Just abandon the match and leave.” She said seriously.

“The result will be rather bad if I do that.” He said.

“As for me, I mind my suffering more than others. If I can’t even live well, why should I care whether others live or die?” She said.

“As you said, others know they will die but as long as there is still a tomorrow, there is still hope.” He said.

“When you leave, all of this will be gone, so you let everyone have hope while you have nothing.” She said.

“If everything were as I wish, then the mortal world would cease to exist. That’s why there can’t be immortals, definitely not true immortals.” He smiled.

“Can’t even allow yourself to hope, it’s tragic.” She lamented.

“Well, it’s alright, I still have the dao heart, eternal and undying.” Li Qiye said.

“But what you want is the world to have the same thing, you have already obtained eternal and undying.” She said: “Just go do what you have to do, kill those who deserve to die, and leave. This world won’t belong to you anymore, and it won’t appreciate you, it will only ask for more.”

“I will give back what is owed.” He said.

“Yes, but others will think you should give even more.” She said.

“The more I have, the more I have to give, I don’t think so.” He shook his head.

“Since you are so powerful, you lose nothing to give more, or so they will say.” She argued.

“Right, that’s just how it works.” He sighed.

“Go, finish it, this world will be without you.” She insisted.

“I will.” He nodded.

“Don’t think we will meet again. This world will be lonely and boring without you.” She said.

“Less dangerous.” He smiled.
