Emperor’s Domination

“You know, Sir, some immortals have protected worlds before.” He shook his head.

“You?” Li Qiye smiled.

“Well, not me, but Guardian Alliance is doing it. Most of them were under your tutelage.” He said.

“What are they protecting worlds from?” Li Qiye asked.

“...” He paused before answering: “Immortals.”

“In reality, they’re protecting their original pursuit, not worlds.” Li Qiye said.

“I see.” He said.

“Don’t confuse cause and effect. When immortals can maintain their conviction, worlds will be fine and need no protection. That’s why those immortals are protecting themselves, not worlds.” Li Qiye said.

“And when they don’t, they become Devouring Alliance.” He understood.

“Would you have destroyed them if they had targeted you?” Li Qiye asked.

“Of course.” He replied.

“Given your group’s personality, you might destroy them upon the slightest provocation. Of course, they were smart not to provoke any of you. More importantly, Mang and Zhao Dachui were not true threats. They knew how to survive, and more often than not, that meant acting as hounds for the celestial immortals. As long as the hounds were smart enough and bit the right person, you all didn’t mind them devouring places.” Li Qiye said.

“You have no love for immortals, Sir.” He laughed and said: “Don’t forget you’re an immortal, one stronger than us.”

“I was once an immortal, my hands stained with blood. That’s why I must leave this world.” Li Qiye said.

“Well, in the absence of immortals, the villainous heaven will still destroy this world eventually.” He said.

“You know better than this.” Li Qiye said: “Why does the villainous heaven want to destroy the world?”

“Decline inevitably comes after the peak.” He said softly.

“That’s a flowery way of putting it. This peak just means that there are too many immortals causing the world to wither. Even overlords can put an end to minor worlds.” Li Qiye said.

“If it is as you say, then the villainous heaven represents a heavenly justice, the path for all living beings.” He said.

“In a sense, he is a true immortal. But, a true immortal is still an immortal. He also causes destruction via endless cycles.” Li Qiye said.

“Is that why you wish to replace him?” He asked.

“Not quite.” Li Qiye said: “Do you believe this world can have no immortals?”

“Only the minor worlds, but they will always appear in the major ones due to their ample energy sources.” He said: “So an immortal-less world is but a dream.”

“All fake immortals.” Li Qiye said.

“Don’t forget about the villainous heaven, a true immortal.” He said.

“But he is not in this world.” Li Qiye sighed.

“That’s why you have an unsolvable problem. The villainous heaven couldn’t solve it either despite having existed for an unimaginable period of time.” He said.

“Nonetheless, I need an answer to this unsolvable problem.” Li Qiye nodded.

“Have you come up with one?” His eyes flickered as he asked.
