Genshin Impact: Spoiling the Future

If Watatsumi Island’s food supply relies on imports, given the relationship between Watatsumi Island and Narukami Island, it’s not exactly wonderful.

How not wonderful is it? Watatsumi Island already can’t stand the Shogunate because of their faith, and on top of that, there’s the Kanjou Commission that dissatisfies the people of Watatsumi Island.

The economic exploitation by the Kanjou Commission is like frantically adding gunpowder to the barrel, stacking up layers of grievances there. The Sakoku Decree and Vision Hunt Decree then become the fuse.

While Ei is holed up ’farming mobs,’ she doesn’t even know that the top laner ’Doggo’ is frantically stacking Q skills planning to come out of the mountain.

Once war breaks out, don’t call me ’Doggo’ anymore—call me ’Desert Death God’!

Even after the war starts and food becomes stretched thin on Watatsumi Island, the people there still want to fight, which shows how deep the resentment runs.

That said, Kokomi has already sent a squad to investigate Enkanomiya, and the intelligence they got is that Enkanomiya is shrouded in black mist, and a group of ’monsters’ has appeared.

Black mist, monsters! Ei’s eyes widen, and one hand reaches toward her chest—this is a classic Abyss invasion! She’s familiar with it!

My greatsword is already thirsting unbearably! Enkanomiya, right? I’ll turn you into rice paddy right away.

It’s just a pity that the real-life Enkanomiya guy probably won’t go to the Land of White Nights anymore, because almost everything he wants to know has already been written by Lucian.

As for the past events of the sun and moon, even if he goes, it probably won’t be that easy to find them.

[ Kokomi: ”Lumine, I’m really sorry, but on behalf of Watatsumi Island, I earnestly request you to lend us your strength once again.” ]

[ Traveler: ”For Kokomi, leave it to me.” ]

Lumine: I will ignite Kokomi!

Kokomi can’t handle Lumine’s straight ball like that and feels a bit shy.

[ ”P-Please don’t joke around.” ]

[ ”But thank you for being willing to venture into danger alone for Watatsumi Island once again.” ]

Kokomi goes with little Lumine to find Tsuyuko to gather intelligence, planning to personally escort little Lumine to Enkanomiya.

When Tsuyuko sees Kokomi and little Lumine coming together, she automatically ignores Paimon and shows Anya’s signature sleazy smile (⌓‿⌓).

[ Tsuyuko: ”I understand. You two must be here for a date, right.” ]

Paimon floats nearby with a bewildered face. You two? Am I not a person? Am I really not a person?

To this, Tsuyuko can only say, aren’t you a confession balloon?

Faced with her subordinate’s teasing, Kokomi feels a bit embarrassed and lightly coughs twice before saying:

[ ”Ahem... Be serious, Tsuyuko. Otherwise... next year, you and that Xi can switch shifts and go manage Watatsumi Island’s floating spirit ecological governance.” ]

The white floating spirit Paimon nods. Be serious—I’m here too!

Seeing her boss embarrassed, Tsuyuko quickly reins herself in a bit. If she teases any more, she might get sent to the borderlands by the boss for wearing shrine maiden clothes.

Tsuyuko puts on a serious face, planning to explain the Enkanomiya situation to the Traveler.

However, because Paimon directly calls out ’Kokomi’s’ name, it instantly breaks her composure, and she shows an ’I get it’ smile.

[ Tsuyuko: ”Kokomi, heh heh.” ]

Readers get it— no wonder Lucian didn’t write a story for Sangonomiya Kokomi, even saying Arataki Itto has one. How could the current divine priestess shrine maiden of the Sangonomiya not have one? Turns out it’s here!

I’m a botanist; this is yuri.

In the story, Tsuyuko does indeed restrain herself, just letting out two ’weird laughs’ before getting to business.

She tells the Traveler that Enkanomiya is shrouded in darkness, and there are some additional armors that can move freely.

These armors injured the manta ray third squad that went to scout, but luckily there was a shrine maiden named ”Tsumi” who helped treat them.

Kokomi feels a bit unfamiliar with this Tsumi; there’s no shrine maiden by that name in the Sangonomiya shrine maiden roster.

But she seems to be helping Sangonomiya, holding a ”Thousand-Petal Festival” in Enkanomiya, maintaining a sliver of light that became a ’sanctuary.’

[ Tsuyuko: ”Someone mentioned she wears a strange mask covering the upper half of her face.” ]

Dun dun dun! Readers’ heartbeats quicken a bit, catching the keyword ’masked shrine maiden’!

The last masked shrine maiden didn’t have a good ending!

Hanachirusato, who is no longer wearing a mask, has now traveled to Watatsumi Island and doesn’t know the story in the book.

[ After gathering intelligence, Kokomi says: ”I’ve already mobilized the swordfish first squad to Enkanomiya to continue evacuating the wounded. Lumine, you can go with them.” ]

Tsuyuko shows Anya’s smile on the side without saying anything. Look at them—Lumine and Kokomi calling each other by name. I won’t disturb; I’m outta here.

The Traveler leaves too, arriving at Enkanomiya with the swordfish first squad. This time, it’s shrouded in black mist, and just looking at it feels somewhat ominous.

Under the Dainichi Mikoshi, a little light remains, and the shrine maiden named Tsumi is right there.

This shrine maiden named Tsumi seems not very familiar with humans. When she sees the Traveler, due to their clothing, she even doubts if the Traveler is human—is Paimon a human cub?

She’s not very familiar with humans but is very knowledgeable about bathysmal vishaps, speaking authoritatively.

She even explains to the Traveler about one of the Three Realms: the ”Bathysmal Vishap Realm.”

[ ”In fact, the Bathysmal Vishap Realm refers to the world of pure, primal elemental creatures, and its name in books is ’Light Realm.’” ]

[ ”’Light Realm’s’ Seven Sovereigns are the seven elemental dragons at the pinnacle of barbaric, primal elemental power.” ]

This actually teaches readers some knowledge. So that’s what the so-called Bathysmal Vishap Realm is about.

Many readers start analyzing the identities of the Seven Elemental Dragon Sovereigns. Azhdaha is one—is Dvalin?

It has to be said that the information revealed in this story is really a bit over-spec; most ordinary people in Teyvat would get dizzy.

Eyes gradually become dazed, brain starts giving up thinking—too full, about to roll eyes.

The Traveler gets some intelligence from Tsumi, but she doesn’t fully trust Tsumi, so she plans to ask the wounded for more info.

Among the wounded, there’s one named Enomoto who’s already little head controlling big head, full brain thinking if Miss Tsumi is married—can’t get any useful intel.

The other wounded named Imaizumi is much more normal. He tells the Traveler that he previously noticed Miss Tsumi’s pupils were snake pupils.

And the people of Watatsumi Island know a legend: the first familiar of the Watatsumi Great Omikami was half-human half-snake, so he believes Tsumi is the familiar of the Watatsumi Great Omikami and can be trusted.

After collecting intel, the Traveler decides to temporarily trust Tsumi and work together with her to deal with the ’monsters’ invading Enkanomiya.

Tsumi tells the Traveler that this Abyss thick fog is related to those three towers; it was made by a guy from the Abyss.

Hearing this, little Lumine isn’t sleepy anymore—this is definitely that Abyss guy from Enkanomiya!

It is indeed Enkanomiya’s guy. Tsumi reminds the Traveler that Abyss guy is not easy to deal with—be careful.

[ Traveler: ”Don’t worry, that guy likes getting beaten up anyway.” ]
