The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 1481: Chapter 1498: A Furious Outburst for the Sake of Beauty

The car sped along the road, eventually crossing a suspension bridge and driving a few more kilometers to a villa area.

The butler jumped in surprise when he came to open the door.

”Yo... Young Master? Why... Why are you back so late?” The butler was still wearing pajamas with a blue coat draped over him.

Nangong Yaoling’s handsome face was expressionless, exuding a cold and intimidating aura.

He ignored the astonished butler, didn’t even change his shoes, stepped on the carpet with his leather shoes, and walked directly to the sofa to sit down.

With one foot resting on the coffee table, he took out a pack of Marlboro cigarettes from his coat pocket, took one out, lit it with a zippo lighter, and started smoking.

The butler looked at Nangong Yaoling’s expression and seemed to guess something.

For a moment, a trace of unrest and apprehension crossed his face.

But after all, he had followed the old master for thirty years, seen all sorts of storms, so the unease and panic in his heart were quickly suppressed by his rationality.

”Young Master, the old master and madam have both gone to bed. Should I...” Mr. He stepped forward, bending respectfully toward Nangong Yaoling.

”No need.” Nangong Yaoling puffed on the cigarette, glanced at the butler coldly, and said, ”Sit, keep me company for a chat.”

The butler gasped.

He licked his lips with his tongue, and although he was very unwilling, he had no choice but to sit opposite Nangong Yaoling.

Housekeeper He forced a smile and said, ”Young Master, what’s happened to you today? Decided to chat with this old man? Haha...”

”Mr. He, you are indeed getting old. I heard your grandson is about to start middle school, right?”

”Ah, yes, he will start next year.” Mr. He couldn’t help but show joy on his face at the thought of his grandson.

Nangong Yaoling exhaled a smoke ring.

Though seemingly unintentional, the smoke drifted right in front of Housekeeper He, causing him to cover his lips and cough several times, his face reddened from the coughing.

Nangong Yaoling moved the cigarette away from his fingers and flashed a captivating smile at Housekeeper He.

Mr. He looked at that smile, and beads of cold sweat almost appeared on his forehead.

”Young Master, if there’s anything you want to say, please just say it. I... really can’t stand the smell of smoke...” He coughed dryly twice more, covering his mouth.

Nangong Yaoling kindly extinguished the cigarette in the ashtray.

”Mr. He, since you’ve spoken, I won’t beat around the bush. You’ve watched me grow up; you understand me best. You should know what I want to ask, right?”

Mr. He scratched his forehead with his hand.

”Young Master... Why trouble an old man like me... You know servants like us can’t meddle in the master’s affairs. Besides... the madam just returned a few days ago, I...”

”Mr. He truly is a smart man.” Nangong Yaoling squinted his eyes, observing Housekeeper He with a raised eyebrow and asked, ”So, it was indeed my mom who did it?”

Mr. He’s eyes widened as he looked at Nangong Yaoling: ”Young Master... I didn’t see anything... I was serving the old master upstairs when I heard the noise, and when I rushed down, I only saw the young mistress collapsed on the sofa...”

Nangong Yaoling’s face turned a bit pale.

His lips curled into a cold smile.

”Very well...” He nodded, supporting the table with one hand: ”Mr. He, this matter has nothing to do with my grandfather?”

”Of... Of course, it has nothing to do...”

Mr. He quickly said nervously.
