The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 1018: Chapter 1038: You Actually Treat Me Like This 2

The doctor shook his head and turned to walk out the door.

”How could my dad go so suddenly? Wasn’t he... wasn’t he just in a coma all along?”

Li Ren sighed, ”The doctor said Mr. Du’s condition has been bad these past few days. Today, when I hurried back from outside, I found that he was no longer breathing... After all, he was old. The doctor said, with this illness lasting so long, it was already not easy.”

Mrs. Xia cried and shook her head, ”Why... Dad...”

Just then, suddenly, a sound of footsteps came from outside.

Xia Zhennan, dressed in a suit, walked in from outside.

A lawyer followed behind him.

Mrs. Xia turned around and looked at Xia Zhennan.

”Zhennan... my dad is gone... he...”

Xia Zhennan stepped forward and patted Mrs. Xia’s shoulder.

”The old man has been unconscious for so long; it can’t have been easy for him. Passing like this is also good.”

Mrs. Xia looked at him sorrowfully, ”How can you say that? No matter how long my dad remained in a coma, I still hoped... hoped he would live on!”

Xia Zhennan let out a cold laugh from the corner of his mouth and shook his head.

”Fengjun, this is Lawyer He. Since the old man has passed away now, I think we need to let Lawyer He discuss the matter of Mr. Xia’s inheritance.”

Du Fengjun stiffened at his words.

She stared at Xia Zhennan incredulously.

”What are you saying? My dad just died, and you’re already thinking about his estate? Xia Zhennan, are you even human?” Du Fengjun rushed forward, grabbed Xia Zhennan’s collar, and cursed through gritted teeth.

Xia Zhennan took her hand and released it.

”Fengjun, the old man was over seventy. Even if he’s gone, it’s not such a pity. So why be like this? By the way... there’s something else I need to inform you about. I’ve just passed a board of directors’ resolution; after the old man left, as the president, I will take over the entire company. However, here’s a document I’d like you to sign. After all, you’re also a shareholder of the company.”

He said, handing the document to Du Fengjun.

Du Fengjun let out a sneer.

”Xia Zhennan? Do you think that just because my dad died, you can have it all? That you can turn things around and call the shots? Dream on! I will not sign this agreement! As long as I don’t agree, don’t think you can maintain your position as chairman!”

As she spoke, she grabbed the document and tore it to pieces.

A hint of a smile flashed across Xia Zhennan’s eyes.

”It’s okay, I have many copies.” Xia Zhennan looked at Du Fengjun, ”Since you’re upset now, we’ll discuss it another day.”

Li Ren, who had been burning with anger and couldn’t stand it any longer, suddenly rushed forward and punched Xia Zhennan in the face.

”Xia Zhennan, are you even a man?! Madam has been with you half her life, and you treat her like this!”

At this moment, the lawyer hurriedly stepped forward to stop Li Ren from charging further.

”Mr. Li, please calm down.”

Xia Zhennan wiped the corner of his mouth.

”Ha... Li Ren, this is a family matter, I’m afraid you, as an outsider, have no place to intervene. Don’t think I don’t know your intentions. You’re just eager to show off your heroism, seizing this opportunity, aren’t you? But don’t forget, you’re just a dog of the Du Family; do you think she ever saw you as worthy?”

”Enough!” Du Fengjun gritted her teeth, looking at Xia Zhennan, ”Xia Zhennan, you bastard! Back then, I nearly severed ties with my father to marry you, and this is how you repay me!”
