The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 712: Chapter 723 An Awkward Meal

”But we don’t know each other, how can we share a table?” Nangong Feihong was displeased. As the eldest young master, he had never shared a table with anyone! He said coldly to Situ Yan, ”If there’s no seat here, go somewhere else. Why squeeze in with us?”

Situ Yan glanced at Nangong Feihong, ”Handsome boy, one should be kind. I have low blood sugar and have been hungry all morning. If I don’t eat something soon, I might faint.

So, please, let me sit here!”

Xia Xiaonuan: ”...”

Is the person in front of her really Situ Yan?

Just listen to his tone, he sounds like a refined scholar and looks so pitiful.

Nangong Feihong’s face darkened, the anger in his eyes slightly receded, but his brow was still furrowed.

Before he could speak, Xia Xiaonuan spoke up, sarcastically, ”Sir, you look energetic and healthy to me. You don’t seem like someone who’s sick at all.”

Situ Yan placed his hands on the table and stared into her eyes, ”Miss, haven’t you heard that you can’t judge a book by its cover? By the way, your face looks very familiar. Have we met somewhere before?”

Xia Xiaonuan: ”...”

”Hey!” Nangong Feihong grabbed Situ Yan’s shoulder, ”You damn pretty boy, I’m still here and you’re already trying to charm my Xiaonuan! What’s your intention?”

Xia Xiaonuan: ”...”

My Xiaonuan?

Situ Yan looked very uncomfortable but he didn’t move.

”If this gentleman doesn’t like me sitting next to you, then I can sit across from you.”

He said, standing up and moving beside Xia Xiaonuan, ”Miss, could you move in a bit?”

Xia Xiaonuan: ”...”

He glared at Situ Yan, his hand clenched into a fist under the table.

Since he didn’t want to break the pretend, acting like they didn’t know each other, she didn’t dare act rashly either.

If she pushed him, he might say something reckless, which would be bad for her in the end.

Xia Xiaonuan didn’t move.

Looking at Nangong Feihong, she said, ”Feihong, just let him share the table. He looks starving; otherwise, he wouldn’t be begging you so humbly.”

She intentionally made Situ Yan sound pathetic to knock down his arrogance.

Sure enough, Situ Yan’s face darkened instantly.

Life isn’t easy; everything’s a performance.

If he wanted to act, she would play along. What’s the big deal?

Nangong Feihong sighed, glancing sideways at Situ Yan, ”You look like a grown man and quite pitiful. Fine, you can sit here!”

”Pfft...” Xia Xiaonuan almost burst out laughing.

Situ Yan looked at Nangong Feihong’s helpless expression and then at Xia Xiaonuan’s gleeful face.

He sat back down beside Nangong Feihong.

Just then, the dishes they ordered arrived.

There was twice-cooked pork, crab meat tofu, pork with black beans, and bok choy with mushrooms. There was also a soup.

A total of four dishes and one soup.

The aroma wafted over, and Xia Xiaonuan quickly picked up her chopsticks and started eating.

The waiter asked Situ Yan, ”Sir, would you like to order anything?”

Situ Yan was not familiar with the dish names and simply said, ”I’ll have the same as them.”

Nangong Feihong glanced at him and whispered to Xiaonuan, ”Is something wrong with this guy?”

Xia Xiaonuan glanced at Situ Yan; his face was indescribable.

”Perhaps.” She whispered in a voice that Situ Yan could hear.

Suddenly, a foot kicked her under the table.

”Ah!”

Xia Xiaonuan’s expression changed.

”What’s wrong, Xiaonuan?” Nangong Feihong asked nervously.
