The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 703: Chapter 715: Let’s Do Well in the Future

”That...” She glanced sideways, her gaze landing on the water dispenser in the corner: ”Do you want some water?”

Nangong Yaoling nodded.

Xia Xiaonuan hurriedly poured a glass of water. Since there were no cups, she had to use a disposable one.

Handing the cup to Nangong Yaoling, he stared at it and frowned slightly.

”The hospital is a bit basic. I’ll have Yun bring over some daily necessities later. For now, just make do with this,” Xia Xiaonuan explained. She knew he was probably not used to such treatment, but this was the best they could manage.

She placed the cup down beside him, then adjusted his pillow and pressed a button. The bed automatically elevated, and the tray in front slowly rose up, finally forming a small table in front of Nangong Yaoling.

Nangong Yaoling looked at the cup in front of him, frowned, and said, ”Feed me.”

Xia Xiaonuan’s lips curved into a barely noticeable smile, but she deliberately said sternly, ”Your hands aren’t injured, why should I feed you?”

Nangong Yaoling was unsatisfied: ”I’m hurt, isn’t that your fault? Shouldn’t you take care of me?”

Xia Xiaonuan held the cup to his lips, slightly defiant: ”If you hadn’t insisted on bathing with me, I wouldn’t have accidentally hurt you!”

”Xia Xiaonuan, why do you have so many excuses? You hit someone with a car and then tell the police you didn’t mean to. Does that mean you won’t face any consequences?”

Xia Xiaonuan’s face darkened slightly.

”Fine, I’m feeding you, aren’t I?” she said, exasperated. This man, even with his head injury, could still think so clearly. She had worried he might have become an imbecile from the fall.

Seeing her relent, Nangong Yaoling’s lips curved into a sensual smile. He opened his mouth and drank all the water in the cup.

But he drank very slowly, as if it was difficult to swallow.

”Are you feeling unwell?” After he finished, she put the cup down and asked worriedly.

”Yes, a little bit,” Nangong Yaoling said. In fact, he was deliberately drinking slowly so she would feed him for longer.

He really enjoyed being taken care of by her, but he would never admit it.

Especially seeing Xia Xiaonuan’s anxious expression, it was like tasting honey; he felt extremely satisfied inside.

”Where do you feel uncomfortable? I’ll call a doctor,” Xia Xiaonuan said hurriedly, getting up.

However, in the next second, he suddenly grabbed her arm and gently pulled her back.

His other hand held the back of her neck, and with that, his lips captured hers, stealing her fragrance and softness.

His mouth still held the warmth of the water. Xia Xiaonuan hadn’t expected the sudden kiss and was a bit surprised. Her heart pounded, but she didn’t struggle. One reason was that she was afraid of touching his wound; the other was that she knew their time together might be limited.

Why is it that one only understands their heart when they’re on the verge of losing something?

Before, she always hated his kisses, but now she realized it was his attitude she disliked, not the person himself.

In fact, she didn’t hate him as much as she thought, right?

This kiss was different from before, devoid of any lust. It was filled with a long-repressed yearning and satisfaction. In his mind, he remembered what Xia Xiaonuan said and the tears she shed before he lost consciousness.

It was as if deeply buried emotions had suddenly erupted. He just wanted to kiss her and feel their hearts closer.
