The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 126: Chapter 128 [128] Let’s Get Real1

Usually, in these kinds of scenes, you don’t need to actually hit; just get into position and use sound effects.

However, Fang Wan smiled at Xia Xiaonuan and said, if it’s fake hitting and the acting isn’t good, it will look very fake. Real hits are different.

Actually, Xia Xiaonuan understood. After all, she’s a newcomer with no real skills yet.

So, even though she knew Fang Wan was intentionally saying this, she still smiled.

She said to the director, ”It’s okay, let’s just do it for real.”

Jin Zhengyuan hesitated, ”Or Xiaonuan, we can use a stunt double.”

”No need, I can do it!” Xia Xiaonuan stubbornly said.

A mocking smile appeared on Fang Wan’s lips, and others watching were surprised. They didn’t expect that Xia Xiaonuan, despite being a noble daughter and the young mistress of the Nangong Family, still had no airs.

”I’ve heard she’s not favored? Didn’t you see last time when the Crown Prince came, he didn’t even look at her when she fell.”

”Yeah... she is quite pitiful. In a wealthy family, without favor, she can only rely on herself... So being a daughter-in-law in a wealthy family isn’t something just anyone can achieve!”

”If Prince Nangong doesn’t like her, no matter how hard she tries, it will probably be in vain.”

Mocking comments were everywhere.

Xia Xiaonuan pretended she didn’t hear any of it.

But unexpectedly, Fang Wan’s slap caused her face to swell up on one side.

She collapsed to the ground.

”Cut!” the director shouted, ”The expression isn’t right, what’s going on?”

Xia Xiaonuan snapped back to reality and got up from the ground.

Another slap.

This time, Xia Xiaonuan mastered the right technique, but the director still shouted cut.

”Fang Wan, your expression- the slap is not the point, you need to show you’re venting your hatred and dissatisfaction on the maid!”

”Sorry, director, I’ll do it again...”

Just like that, Xia Xiaonuan got slapped not less than seven or eight times.

Each time after the slap, she had to use ice packs, then apply makeup and powder.

By the time she finally succeeded, Xia Xiaonuan’s face was already swollen and red.

Xia Xiaonuan sat in the corner, holding an ice pack from the staff and icing her face alone.

Fang Wan approached her.

”Xiaonuan, I’m so sorry, was I too harsh earlier? It’s for a more realistic effect, hope you don’t mind?”

”It’s okay.” Xia Xiaonuan smiled weakly at her.

”It must be hard being slapped multiple times, right? But there’s no other way, it’s all for the sake of acting! Just... as the wife of Prince Nangong, I wonder if the Crown Prince would blame me if he sees it? Last time when you fell and got hurt, he must have been very worried; but with Yang Zi’er around, he didn’t notice you. Yang Zi’er, despite you being the official wife, behaves affectionately with the Crown Prince.”

Xia Xiaonuan knew she was mocking her, knowing well that Nangong Yaoling wouldn’t feel sorry for her, saying these things to provoke her and aiming at Yang Zi’er as well, hinting that Nangong Yaoling ignored her because of Yang Zi’er, trying to create a rift between her and Yang Zi’er.

This woman is really vicious.

Although she sacrifices a lot for her acting, she is not a pushover.

She looked up at Fang Wan, ”These minor injuries are nothing. Zi’er is an iconic actress, her fame and ability undoubtedly deserve the Crown Prince’s admiration.

If other actresses angered the Crown Prince, if he were to speak, she might never be able to stand in the acting circle anymore.

Even though I’m his rightfully married wife, I’m not that precious; I’ll talk to him tonight, and make sure he doesn’t take it out on Sister Fang Wan.”
