The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 112: Chapter 114 【114】Tell me, you miss me a lot

The next day, Xia Xiaonuan dialed the famous director Jin Zhengyuan’s number.

She had already searched online and found out that Jin Zhengyuan was preparing to shoot a film.

Although the main roles had been decided, the other specific actors had not yet been cast.

Even if it was a small role, as long as it could earn money, she was willing to take it.

”Hello...” From the other end, Jin Zhengyuan’s voice came through.

Xia Xiaonuan responded quickly, ”Hello, Director Jin, this is Xia Xiaonuan...”

There was a moment of hesitation on Jin Zhengyuan’s end, then he chuckled and said, ”Oh, Xiaonuan... what made you think of calling me?”

”Well... I heard that you are preparing a new movie... I was wondering, if the actors haven’t been finalized yet, could I participate in the audition?”

There was a brief silence on the other end, followed by a somewhat embarrassed voice, ”But... Xiaonuan, we’ve already signed the lead actress. How about waiting for the next project? If there’s a suitable role, I’ll find you?”

”No, it’s not that.” Xia Xiaonuan knew he misunderstood and quickly clarified, ”Even if it’s not the lead role, it’s fine. Even a small role is okay.”

”With your credentials, playing a supporting role... I’m afraid it would be an injustice to you.”

”It’s really fine, Director Jin. Please, I truly don’t mind.”

”Alright then...” after a moment of hesitation, he said, ”There’s a second female lead we’re casting for. If you’re interested, come audition. I won’t consider others.”

”Really? That’s wonderful! Thank you, Director Jin!”

Jin Zhengyuan laughed, ”Xiaonuan, you’re too polite. Actually, to tell you the truth, this film also has investment from the Nangong Family. If I had known you were interested earlier, I would have been embarrassed to offer you just the second lead. Nangong Yaoling was here a few days ago, but he didn’t mention anything about you...”

Xia Xiaonuan was stunned.

So, this film was also connected to Nangong Yaoling?

She sighed helplessly.

”Director Jin, could you please not mention this to Nangong Yaoling for now?” Recently, Nangong Yaoling had been involving himself in everything about her, and she wasn’t sure if he would obstruct her from participating in this film.

Moreover, she didn’t want Nangong Yaoling to think she was joining the film because of him.

There was a chuckle on the other end, ”But... if you come to shoot, Mr. Liang will see you eventually.”

”Well... we’ll see about that later. For now, thank you for your help.”

Jin Zhengyuan, hearing this, saw there was nothing more to say, so he agreed.

After hanging up the phone, Xia Xiaonuan felt a bit regretful.

She blamed herself for not figuring it out sooner. If she’d known this film had investment from the Nangong Family, she would not have boldly called Jin Zhengyuan.

But she had already agreed to it, and if she refused now knowing it was Nangong Yaoling’s investment, it would raise suspicions.

Oh well, being Mrs. Nangong, Nangong Yaoling’s influence wasn’t something she could easily escape.

Just take it one step at a time.

Xia Xiaonuan thought helplessly.

...

That evening, Xia Xiaonuan was taking a bath.

While bathing, she was singing songs.

Unexpectedly, the bathroom door suddenly opened.

Xia Xiaonuan was startled.

She saw Nangong Yaoling appear in front of her.

She hurriedly covered her body with her hands, ”You... you should leave!” Why did he come back? She hadn’t seen him for over a week, and she thought he wouldn’t return tonight either.

So, she hadn’t locked the bathroom door.

Nangong Yaoling stood at the door, gazing at her fully exposed, delicate frame.

For a moment, his entire body tensed up.
