The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 8: Chapter 8 Can We Still See Nan Mo?

Xia Xiaonuan, however, dared not meet the man’s gaze. His eyes were too sharp, too naked, making her feel as if he’d see through her the next second.

She didn’t have amnesia at all, but even the doctors couldn’t tell, so he shouldn’t be able to either, right?

Nangong Yaoling spoke to the doctor calmly, ”I understand.”

Xia Xiaonuan suddenly thought of something and couldn’t help but look at Yun nearby. She asked, ”Yun, have there been any news about planes having accidents recently?”

Yun was taken aback.

Nangong Yaoling turned around and looked deeply at Xia Xiaonuan, ”How did you know?”

”Ah...?”

”Just three days ago, an Eurasia flight to Europe went missing. It’s been over 72 hours now...” Nangong Yaoling asked suspiciously.

Upon hearing this, Xia Xiaonuan’s legs gave way, and she sat down on the hospital bed.

A gentle, jade-like face suddenly appeared in her mind, smiling warmly at her. That smile, like the warm sun of April, brushed across her cheeks.

Mingming... Mingming she was about to go to Europe to find him.

How could this happen...

Xia Xiaonuan’s gaze fell on the wedding ring on the ring finger of her left hand, feeling a sudden heaviness in her chest.

The air was filled with the scent of freshly used disinfectant, the smell of sterilizing solution, Yun’s laundry detergent, and the faint tobacco scent from that man...

Everything seemed to confirm the reality before her eyes.

Why did everything seem to change overnight? She was already someone’s wife, could she still see Nan Mo?

Her eyes seemed to be covered with a layer of mist, and she stared blankly.

Nangong Yaoling stepped forward and grabbed her arm, ”Did you remember something? How did you know about the plane accident?”

She had been in a coma for a week, so it was impossible for her to know.

A mist swirled in front of Xia Xiaonuan’s eyes. She shook her head and said dazedly, ”I... I heard it from a nurse while I was sleeping...”

Nangong Yaoling looked at the somewhat dazed girl in front of him, something flashed in his eyes, yet he couldn’t guess the reason. Her eyes were filled with overwhelming sorrow and panic, as if she would burst into tears the next second.

The former Xia Xiaonuan rarely had such a complex and inexplicable expression. In the past, whenever she was in front of him, she would only try to please weakly. Every time she saw him, her eyes would focus solely on him, like a pet adoring its owner.

But that was precisely the Xia Xiaonuan he grew tired of.

He was born as God’s favored one, surrounded by an abundance of flattering and infatuated gazes.

Therefore, although she was his wife, she was merely a pawn in his commercial marriage, even less than the women outside in his eyes.

It was precisely because of this that Xia Xiaonuan couldn’t take it and attempted suicide when she saw him bringing other women home for the night!

Nangong Yaoling stared at Xia Xiaonuan, yet at this moment, he felt inexplicably complex feelings towards her.

The former Xia Xiaonuan was like a blank sheet of paper.

But now, he found her somewhat enigmatic.

Hence, he started to have an impatient desire to uncover and explore her.

Xia Xiaonuan came back to her senses, lifted her eyes, and her gaze collided with Nangong Yaoling’s. She merely glanced at him, then withdrew her gaze indifferently, trying hard to hide her emotions and put on a face of aloofness.

Suddenly facing such a situation, she didn’t know what to do. The only thing she could do was to prevent others from seeing through her.
