Chapter 253: Chapter 249: Terrorist Attack

”Ah!” ”It’s a terrorist attack!”

”Run!”

The crowd shrieked in terror. Like a startled flock of birds, they scattered in every direction, dropping luggage everywhere as they shoved past one another in a chaotic mob.

”BANG!” ”BANG! BANG! BANG!”

”BANG! BANG! BANG!”

The continuous sound of gunfire, mixed with agonized screams, echoed across the area. An aura of death swept over the entire plaza.

Amidst the chaos, a dozen or so men in sunglasses stood out. They had ferocious expressions, wielding firearms and spraying bullets wildly into the surrounding crowd.

Bullets whizzed through the air and blood splattered. Body after body collapsed onto the plaza, and pools of blood spread across the ground.

”Damn it, it’s a terrorist attack! Those butchers!” Frank’s face paled. He quickly dropped to the ground and yelled, ”Mr. Ye Xing, get down! Just hold on for a few minutes, the police should be here soon!”

Terrorist attacks occurred from time to time in countries all over the world, a man-made disaster. The victims were always innocent civilians.

Ye Xing didn’t crouch. With a flip of his hand, a dozen or so small coins appeared in his palm.

’No matter the reason, slaughtering innocent people is wrong. These people are completely deranged!’ A startlingly cold glint flashed in Ye Xing’s eyes. He pinched one of the coins between his index and middle fingers, channeled his True Qi, and with a light flick, sent it flying toward the nearest attacker.

”WHOOSH!”

The small, round coin spun at high speed, becoming a blur that was nearly invisible to the naked eye as it tore through the air with a piercing shriek.

PTSCH!

The thin coin had become a terrifying weapon, embedding itself directly in the attacker’s forehead. A line of blood seeped out, then began to trickle from the hole. THUD. The body fell stiffly to the ground. His eyes were wide open in death, filled with confusion, as if wondering how he had died. While Ye Xing’s Hidden Weapon wasn’t as fast as a bullet, it was still far too quick for an ordinary person to see, let alone dodge.

As the nearest attacker was killed by the coin...

At the same time,

”WHOOSH!” ”WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!”

”WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!”

One by one, coins were launched from Ye Xing’s fingertips like hidden weapons, whistling through the air toward every corner of the plaza.

Ye Xing’s sharp gaze swept across the scene. The moment he spotted an attacker, he would fire a coin and kill the vicious thug on the spot. In just a short while, a dozen attackers had died at his hand.

The number of gunmen in the plaza began to decrease sharply.

”Shit, are police snipers here already? That was fast! Retreat, now!”

In the crowd, the leader of the attackers gave the order, and the remaining men immediately scattered and fled.

Only when the attackers were gone did the slaughter finally stop.

Besides the dozen or so bodies of the attackers on the ground, the number of civilian casualties was nearly one hundred. It was a major incident. It would undoubtedly cause a sensation in the United States, and media outlets around the world would likely report on it.

This terrorist attack had happened right at New York International Airport in the United States, and Ye Xing had witnessed it firsthand.

To be honest, Ye Xing didn’t have a very favorable impression of the United States and its hegemonic ways, but the people were innocent. The travelers at New York International Airport had come from all over the globe. Watching these innocent people be murdered by vicious thugs, even Ye Xing’s cold heart couldn’t bear it, which was why he had stepped in to kill the attackers.

The dozen or so dead attackers on the ground had all been killed by Ye Xing’s hidden weapons. Otherwise, the number of casualties would have likely doubled, conservatively breaking into the triple digits.

Cries and sobs filled the entire plaza as the wounded wailed in agony. The other survivors had already fled for their lives in terror, desperate to get away from this cursed place as quickly as possible.

”Those damned demons are finally gone. It’s not safe here, Mr. Ye Xing, we should leave immediately!” Frank said hurriedly.

”Mm. Let’s go.” Ye Xing nodded, putting the few remaining coins from his palm into his pocket. Just now, Ye Xing had been channeling his True Qi, and the speed and technique with which he launched his hidden weapons were extremely fast. He had also been deliberately concealing his actions. As a result, Frank hadn’t noticed him killing the attackers one by one with coins. As for the surrounding crowd, they had been too busy screaming and running for their lives to notice anything.

”WEE-WOO!” ”WEE-WOO! WEE-WOO!”

”WEE-WOO! WEE-WOO!”

Before long, ambulances and police cars arrived at the scene one after another. The wounded were carried onto the ambulances amidst agonizing wails, while the police cars sped off in pursuit of the fleeing attackers.

* * *

The streets of New York were bustling with traffic, a picture of prosperity.

Ye Xing and Frank were sitting in a luxurious Rolls-Royce. One of Frank’s men was driving, taking them toward Frank’s armory.

Frank was a major arms dealer and a powerful figure in the New York area. As a big shot, having subordinates, luxury cars, and mansions was a given. He was only this deferential to his idol, Ye Xing; he treated others very differently.

Right now, the car radio was broadcasting news about the terrorist attack that had just happened, warning everyone to be careful.

”Fuck, those sons of bitches... that was way too close back there. If I wasn’t careful, I could’ve cashed in my chips!” Frank said, still shaken and grinding his teeth. ”I really want to kill them with my own hands!”

”Mm, that could work. Ridding the world of a menace. You have my moral support,” Ye Xing said with a slight smile.

”Ah, forget it. These old bones can’t take that kind of trouble. It’s not worth risking my life against a bunch of desperados.” Frank pursed his lips, then looked at him with hopeful eyes. ”Mr. Ye Xing, you left in such a hurry last time. You have to stay in New York a while longer! There are a lot of fun places here. Let me show you some proper hospitality.”

”No, I can’t. I have urgent business,” Ye Xing said, shaking his head. ”I have a lot going on recently. I need to leave as soon as I get the weapons.” The situation on the Martial Arts Continent was still uncertain, and the outcome would determine the foundation of his future development. He was in no mood to go sightseeing in New York.

”Urgent business again? Mr. Ye Xing, you really are a busy man. Sigh.”

Frank’s face fell. He rolled his eyes, utterly speechless.

”By the way, Frank, would you say these terrorist organizations have advanced weapons?”

Listening to the car radio, a thought seemed to strike Ye Xing, and he suddenly asked the question.

”Uh, why the sudden question?” Frank looked at him, puzzled. ”It varies. Some terrorist groups are very primitive, while others have bases with extremely advanced equipment—fighter jets, tanks, all kinds of heavy-duty military hardware, you name it.”

”Then do their bases have missiles?” Ye Xing’s eyes seemed to light up, growing brighter and brighter. He was clearly very interested.

”M-m-maybe!” Frank’s heart leaped into his throat. He had a feeling that Mr. Ye Xing was extremely interested in Forbidden Weapons like missiles and atomic bombs.

He had already asked him about atomic bombs last time. Frank had thought it was a joke, but his intuition was telling him with increasing clarity that this Mr. Ye Xing was not kidding. ’He genuinely intends to get his hands on this kind of Forbidden Weapon. This man is absolutely insane and terrifying!’

The longer he spent with him, the more familiar he became, the stronger a feeling grew inside Frank: if this Mr. Ye Xing ever truly lost his temper, he would be infinitely more dangerous than any of those terrorist organizations.
