My Home's Ancient Well Connects to the Martial Arts World

Chapter 252: Chapter 248: Sudden Change at the Airport

Dusk. The setting sun!

The blood-red sun stained the horizon. On the smoke-filled battlefield, severed limbs and corpses littered the ground. Rivulets of crimson blood, still wet, trickled everywhere. A cold wind blew, spreading clouds of blood-mist in all directions.

On the city walls, inhaling the pungent stench of blood, Ye Xing gazed impassively over the battlefield below. The corpses and gory patches of flesh and blood were a shocking sight.

”Hmph. You want to slaughter the city? No matter how many you send, I’ll send that many to their deaths!” A cold sneer formed on Ye Xing’s lips, and an icy glint flashed in his eyes.

The great battle had lasted just under fifteen minutes, and Ouyang Xu’s army had already suffered heavy losses. After leaving over a thousand corpses behind, they immediately sounded the retreat.

It was a brutal battle. Faced with bombs falling from the sky, the deafening roars, and the terrifying explosive force, even the most elite soldiers felt a chill of fear. After all, while elites might not fear death, no one would willingly march to a pointless demise. A sense of panic was spreading through Ouyang Xu’s army.

Ouyang Xu would probably have to spend the next while placating and reorganizing his troops. For a short time, his so-called battle-hardened veterans would likely be in no condition to fight again.

Ye Xing glanced at the time on his watch. He had been on the Martial Arts Continent for a full half-hour, so it was about time to head back. He immediately handed over the remaining matters to Ma Feng, Hong Hai, and the others.

They had just won a small victory, and the morale of Ouyang Xu’s army was mostly shattered. It would be difficult for them to rally their spirits and attack the city again anytime soon. As long as White Cloud City remained cautious and coordinated with the munitions bombardment, they should have no problem holding off Ouyang Xu’s forces.

Ma Feng was steady and experienced in his handling of affairs, while Hong Hai was sharp and capable. With the two of them guarding White Cloud City, Ye Xing was relatively at ease.

Returning once more to the Training Room cave, Ye Xing opened his Qiankun Bag and released the Purple Light Group Teleportation Gate.

In an instant, the cave was filled with brilliant purple light and swirling, rosy mist. The surrounding Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi surged in frantically, making the Primordial Qi within the cave incredibly dense.

”Been on the crapper this long, I’d better get back!”

Ye Xing quickly stepped into the Purple Light Group Teleportation Gate. His vision went black as the scene around him changed.

The next moment, Ye Xing appeared in the airplane lavatory on Earth.

It was quiet outside; evidently, no one was knocking. Ye Xing couldn’t help but sigh in relief. He had been genuinely worried that someone desperate to urinate would be pounding on the door. Although the plane had two lavatories, you could never rule out the possibility of some stubborn person. That was why he hadn’t dared to stay on the Martial Arts Continent for too long, rushing back after only half an hour.

Otherwise, if a stubborn person had kept knocking and gotten no response from inside, who knew what kind of trouble might have occurred.

Thankfully, half an hour wasn’t an excessively long time. Ye Xing quickly opened his Qiankun Bag, stored the Purple Light Group Teleportation Gate, then opened the lavatory door and walked toward his seat.

It was now around six in the evening, and dinner service had begun on the plane. Two flight attendants were pushing a cart, handing out meal boxes and chopsticks to the passengers. Many had already started eating.

Ye Xing hurried back to his own seat.

”My dear Mr. Ye Xing, I was starting to think you’d fallen into the toilet!” Frank said with a speechless expression, pointing at his watch. ”You were gone for a good half-hour!”

”Didn’t I tell you I had diarrhea?” Ye Xing said calmly. His expression was as serene as still water, showing none of the pained look of someone with an upset stomach.

Frank rolled his eyes, speechless, but in his view, Mr. Ye Xing had always been very mysterious, so he didn’t dare ask any more questions.

”Alright, let’s eat,” Ye Xing said, opening his meal box.

The box was covered with a layer of shiny, silver plastic film. Tearing it open, the faint aroma of food immediately wafted out. White grains of rice steamed gently, the heat rising in wisps. The side dishes were sliced chicken, bok choy, and a small packet of pickled mustard greens. It was simple, but quite delicious. At least, Ye Xing personally quite enjoyed the airplane dinner.

He ate his dinner and had his drink, and before he knew it, the sky outside had turned completely dark.

The night was still, the sky dotted with countless stars, their faint light and the moon’s glow scattering down from above.

The airplane cut through the night sky, its lights blinking as it streaked across the heavens, flying toward New York, United States.

After flying for an unknown amount of time, the darkness in the sky gradually thinned. Soon, a fish-belly white glimmer of light appeared on the horizon.

”Dear passengers, your attention please. The aircraft will soon be arriving at New York International Airport. During our descent, we may experience some slight turbulence due to airflow. Please remain in your seats with your seatbelts securely fastened...”

An announcement suddenly played over the cabin’s intercom.

Not long after the announcement, the plane did indeed begin its descent. Through the window, he could see the buildings below growing steadily larger.

By the time they arrived at the airport, it was early morning in the United States.

”Mr. Ye Xing, this way, please. My men are already waiting for us outside the airport,” Frank said respectfully.

”Mm,” Ye Xing nodded. The two of them immediately headed outside, soon arriving at the plaza in front of New York International Airport.

It was early morning, and the plaza was crowded with people—travelers who had just deplaned and passengers preparing to board. The crowd was bustling: white, yellow, and black people; men and women, old and young; Americans and tourists from all over the world, including the UK, France, China, Japan, and India. They pulled their suitcases along, some hurrying, others walking in twos and threes, chatting and laughing as they crossed the plaza.

In the early morning, the sun had not yet risen, and there was a slight chill in the air.

Although the plaza was crowded, it wasn’t noisy; it was actually somewhat quiet and peaceful.

In the midst of the crowd, Ye Xing and Frank each pulled a suitcase as they walked toward the exit of the plaza.

Suddenly, at that very moment—

Ye Xing’s expression changed. The hairs on his body stood on end, and he came to an abrupt halt.

”Mr. Ye Xing, what’s wrong?” Frank asked, confused.

”Killing intent!” Ye Xing said, his face grave.

As soon as the words left his mouth, a sharp CRACK! of a gunshot shattered the tranquil morning at the New York airport.

A cold bullet tore through the air. Even with the visual acuity of his Martial Arts Ninth Layer cultivation, Ye Xing could only see the bullet’s afterimage.

”AHH!”

A shrill scream was cut short as a traveler up ahead was shot directly through the head. Blood and brain matter splattered out, and the body fell to the ground with a THUD.

However, it wasn’t over.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

BANG! BANG! BANG!

One gunshot followed another. In an instant, the entire crowd in the plaza was caught in a hail of bullets. Blood splattered everywhere as shrill screams echoed across the plaza.
