The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Shang Meiniang was born among the people of the Jianghu, and was trained by the Xia family to be a spy. She had been arranged to stay by Shang Pu’s side for seven or eight years now. Over the years, she watched Shang Pu maneuver with those people, feeling increasingly helpless, and her heart was increasingly uncomfortable, having undergone a qualitative change from being merely an observer.

Her heart had betrayed her.

Compared to that person, she hoped more for Shang Pu to live, whether it meant abandoning everything or trying every possibility.

Now that person’s actions were becoming increasingly absurd and unreliable, yet Shang Pu still went along with him, indulging him, just to make Emperor Chu uncomfortable?

Shang Meiniang sighed, and said, ”My lord, you said yourself that you are unwilling, if you were to be captured and taken back to the capital as his substitute, wouldn’t that go against your original intention? Should the man plan well, what would be exchanged is their safe escape, and what about you?”

To put on the bridal gown for others, thanklessly exhausting oneself, why should he come to this?

Yet Shang Pu drew up a faint, sickly smile: ”If they escape, one day they will return in force. What do you think my imperial brother will do?”

Shang Meiniang pursed her lips, bearing the unbearable, said: ”My lord, let me say something unpleasant to hear, Emperor Chu is the true dragon Emperor...”

Her words paused when Shang Pu looked over, but she gritted her teeth and continued: ”Even if you cut me down, I must say it. My lord, it’s said that the true dragon Emperor is sheltered by the heavens, and regarding the Longevity Gift, it was you who schemed to send it up, what was the result, you have tested it out. Without heavenly protection, he could hardly have escaped the harm from that screen.”

Indeed, that gift was sent up by Prince Min Mansion, but the suggestion for this gift, was from Shang Pu.

”Since Emperor Chu dodged this calamity, it is evident that this exalted Emperor has protection. My lord, I lack understanding of grand principles, nor do I understand the bitterness and unwillingness in your heart, but truly responsible for today’s situation, is it really your throne-sitting imperial brother? Who you should hate more, shouldn’t it be that person and the gentlemen behind him?”

If it weren’t for Mr. Ning orchestrating things in his childhood, he, the rightful prince, might already be surrounded by children and grandchildren, rather than in this sickly condition now.

Shang Meiniang gritted her back teeth and said: ”I know you dislike hearing about ’blood is thicker than water’, but my lord, even if you are not the true dragon Emperor, you are also dragon child and phoenix grandchild, carrying Chu Family’s blood, once the beloved son of the late Emperor, who laid a path for you and the Imperial Concubine, his love and benevolence as a father is clear. If the late Emperor knew from down below that you preferred to collude with that person to ruin the Chu dynasty’s realm, how would he bear it?”

Shang Pu squinted his eyes, looking fixedly at her: ”Do you know what you are saying?”

Shang Meiniang knelt down: ”I only wish my lord well.”

”These words of yours, are tantamount to complete betrayal of your true master, if he hears it, what will you do?”

Shang Meiniang lowered her eyes: ”Meiniang has long seen through life and death, this life, if he wants it, he can just take it, it is but a death. But my lord, consider for yourself.”

Shang Pu said nothing, only after a long while did he laugh softly: ”Xia Houzhe, oh Xia Houzhe, you are nothing more than this, no matter how arrogant, how proud, ultimately you end up alienated from others.”

Shang Meiniang was startled, raised her head swiftly, looking at him, a hint of chill in her eyes.

Is this testing her loyalty?

He ultimately did not trust her.

”Meiniang, you say these words, that means you regard me as the master. Then I will give you a way out; leave now, you can still live, I will clear obstacles for you, otherwise, both you and I are doomed.”

Shang Pu’s tone suddenly turned serious.
