The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

At the palace feast, Princess Consort Ji requested to return to her fief.

Song Ci was speechless.

When she returned initially, she came back with the late emperor’s edict, looking so arrogant, and now, not even two years later, she’s asking to go back again, what’s the fuss about?

It seems that the situation at Prince Min Mansion is quite grim, even someone as slow-witted as Princess Consort Ji has sensed something wrong and is making noise about going back to her fief.

Indeed, returning to the fief means being on her own territory, where the mountains are high and the Emperor is far away, no need to watch Empress Dowager Wang’s expression, but rather others would have to watch hers.

Then why did she come back in the first place, just to beg for this giant rock pressing on top of her head to teach her and her son a lesson?

Looking for trouble, isn’t it?

Empress Dowager Wang was both angry and amused, always bringing up the late emperor, isn’t there anything new?

She looked coldly at Princess Consort Ji and said, ”Princess Consort, your words are inappropriate, what family? Ze’er is also the late emperor’s son, isn’t the Imperial City his home, isn’t the mourning family his mother?”

Princess Consort Ji’s face turned green, there it is again, bringing the legitimate heir into the conversation.

”Moreover, you’ve just returned for how long, and you’re talking about going back to the fief, that’s boring, weren’t you quite happy when you returned?” Empress Dowager Wang said indifferently, ”Princess Consort, the harem cannot interfere in politics, the Vassal King’s return to the fief is a matter of state affairs, not something the mourning family can decide, you’ve asked the wrong person, step down.”

”Lady...”

Empress Dowager Wang stood up, ”The mourning family is tired, Madam Song, come with the mourning family to change clothes.”

Song Ci was watching the drama, hearing this, she quickly held the Palace Attendant’s hand, stood up, and smiled as she walked over, accompanying Empress Dowager Wang out through the side door.

Princess Consort Ji was so angry she almost couldn’t keep kneeling, she wanted to get up and chase after, but Empress Gongsun gave a signal to the Palace Attendant beside her.

”Dowager, let your servant assist you.”

Princess Consort Ji wanted to curse, but the sound of music suddenly changed, becoming grand and heroic, she then remembered the Emperor was just next door, and it was quite an ordeal to be allowed into the palace, so she forcefully suppressed her anger.

In the side hall.

Once Empress Dowager Wang sat down, she couldn’t help but vent her anger, ”Look at her, where’s the appearance of a Princess Consort, disregarding the occasion, given a little color and she wants to open a dye factory, still thinking to coerce the mourning family. Bah, she really can’t change her wild, shrew nature.”

Song Ci said, soothingly, ”Perhaps she has no other way, so she came up with this trick.”

”At least come up with a new trick, always bringing up the late emperor, isn’t there anything else? This has been said so many times, including this time entering the palace, crying the late emperor again.” Empress Dowager Wang sneered, ”She’s so devoted to the late emperor, why didn’t she follow him to the grave back then?”

”Lady, it’s the New Year, let’s not talk about such unlucky things.” Song Ci chided.

”The mourning family is just angered, such a good palace feast, the mourning family has carefully nurtured herself for a long time to attend, yet now is forced to relapse into an old illness. Oh, my head is hurting again.” Empress Dowager Wang supported her forehead.

Lian Qiao quickly took mint from her wallet on her waist and let her sniff it under her nose.

Song Ci advised kindly, ”Even saying this before you, disrespectfully towards Dowager, she’s just someone who doesn’t understand clearly, if you argue with her, you’ll harm your noble health, and that will be losing more than gaining, why not just treat it as watching a clown for amusement, why get angry?”

Empress Dowager Wang sighed, ”Others may not know, but you know the mourning family, inherently with that temper, alas, the mourning family knows quarreling with her is useless, but this is truly hard to bear, so what should the mourning family do?”

Without thinking, Song Ci said, ”In that case, when you can no longer endure, no need to endure further, reprimand her, punish her, you are the Empress Dowager, your position is the highest!”

Empress Dowager Wang: ”...”

Just now you were advising the mourning family, how did you change!
