Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Chapter 222: Chapter 221: Mysterious Easter Egg

On the outskirts of Taihang Mountain, a bright moon hung in the night sky.

The entire forest appeared tranquil and harmonious.

Two young cultivators, one on the left and one on the right, retreated backward.

Only when they reached a cave did they finally relax.

“It’s getting harder to survive in this Taihang Mountain!” one person wearing a Mo Clan Daoist robe couldn’t help but frown and complain.

The other, similarly a bearded, muscular man, nodded.

“The Demon Beasts here seem to be very restless lately. I always feel something is about to happen; it wasn’t like this before!”

“Could it be a beast tide is coming?” Hearing the bearded man speak, the person beside him was taken aback.

With the mention of this possibility, terror flashed across both of their eyes.

If a beast tide were to come, they would have to leave immediately.

Otherwise, if they were truly engulfed in a beast tide, they’d be heading straight towards death.

“Fifth Brother, let’s hide tonight and leave tomorrow!” the bearded man spoke again.

“Alright, let’s hide first!” the frail cultivator also nodded.

They took out an array banner, covering the cave entrance, and then proceeded inside the cave.

“Something’s not right, Liu Yi, there’s a blood scent in here!” the frail cultivator suddenly whispered.

Perhaps fearing Mo Liuyi wouldn’t believe him, he pointed towards the wall, where a slight indentation could be seen.

To mortals, this detail might go unnoticed, but for the two cultivators living in Taihang Mountain, it was perfectly clear.

“It’s marks from a python!” Mo Liuyi relayed his surprise to the frail cultivator.

“It should be injured or has finished eating!” The frail cultivator, named Mo Liuming, confirmed aloud.

As night began, with few stars, it was the time for Demon Beasts to move.

This python, behaving unusually by hiding in a cave, must either be eating or injured.

The two exchanged looks, each taking out a magical artifact and a spirit talisman, and cautiously moved forward.

Very soon, they reached the innermost part of the cave, where a giant black serpent was swallowing a massive magical egg.

This magical egg was still partially visible, emitting dense spiritual light, magnificent and extraordinary.

It was evidently exceptional, whereas the serpent was merely a demon beast in the late stage of the first tier.

With a slash, the two combined their flying swords, during the serpent’s inconvenience while eating, and sliced it into several pieces.

The magical egg was then exposed.

“We are going to be rich! This spirit egg is at least from a Tier Three Purple Mansion Great Demon. Its aura has already reached the late stage of Tier One, and the egg hasn’t shown signs of hatching, meaning it can continue to grow!” Mo Liuming spoke.

Mo Liuyi also nodded.

They hadn’t expected, near the end of their venture, to attain such a valuable find.

“We can’t wait; this spirit egg is extraordinary, we must leave immediately!” Mo Liuming continued.

“Scatter some Fire Cloud Tiger dung powder, then we won’t have to worry about being chased by demon beasts!” Mo Liuming handed some powder to Mo Liuyi.

The latter also nodded, reaching to grab it.

However, as he was grabbing it, Mo Liuming flipped his hand and released a silver needle towards Mo Liuyi.

“Fifth Brother…” Mo Liuyi’s eyes widened, and he could no longer speak, leaving only a puncture mark in his forehead.

“Don’t blame Fifth Brother, this celestial opportunity belongs to me; I must seize it!” Mo Liuming emptied Mo Liuyi’s storage bag, casually discarding it.

Then he hugged the magical egg and smeared the beast powder.

He vanished from the cave entrance, heading towards the distant Mo Family’s Cyan Willow Mountain.

Cyan Willow Mountain has the Purple Mansion Patriarch, and he believed even if a beast tide occurred, there wouldn’t be too much trouble.

But he didn’t notice when, under the moonlight, some invisible mosquitoes settled on the tree branches, quietly watching Mo Liuming leave.

…

As the sun rose, with the calls of cranes, the entire Lingyun Peak became lively.

The White Cranes, previously kept in Spirit Beast Valley, were all released today. They stepped on white mist, resembling celestial cranes, and elevated the entire Lingyun Mountain’s charm significantly.

Simultaneously, large expanses of red clouds appeared in the sky.

These red clouds, condensing into a crimson Traveling Mansion, formed naturally, vivid like an aerial pavilion.

This symbolizes the Purple Mansion celebration, the more solid it is, the stronger the family’s power, supported by the entire Lingyun Peak’s spirit vein.

This is why, during the Purple Mansion and Golden Core ceremonies, everyone watches the size and clarity of the red clouds and the mansion in the sky.

Beyond the lively mountain setting, the foot of the mountain was also bustling due to the Purple Mansion ceremony, attracting cultivators from Taihang Commandery, Taichang Commandery, and even further, Taiqing Commandery.

Naturally, they arrived early and stayed in the pavilions at the foot of Lingyun Peak.

With the sunrise and cranes’ calls, many cultivators emerged.

Grouped in small numbers, with flushed faces, they discussed and gazed towards the crimson mansion in the sky.

The Purple Mansion ceremony and the rising sun signify the coming of purple qi from the east, indicating continuous vitality, so unlike weddings requiring noon, the celebration begins at sunrise.

The mountain was also adorned with various spirit lamps and gemstones, even the paths up the mountain had squirrels carrying fruit plates.

On the plates are Spiritual Almonds, Spiritual Peaches, and Poison Thorn Fruits.

Other members of the Ye Clan also arrived at the foot of the mountain, guiding and explaining to the visiting cultivators.

Most of these cultivators were young family members, accompanied by loose cultivators and some small Qi Cultivation Clans.

Mid-stage and late-stage Qi Cultivators leading some Foundation Establishment Clans.

Ye Haiyun early guarded the mountain entrance, cheering for the arriving cultivators as they climbed.

“The Taiyuan Mountain loose cultivator Tai Yuan family specially offers an upper-grade Tier One Profound Jade Fruit to celebrate Elder Ye’s Purple Mansion Great Success, may the Path be bright!”

“The Qiuming Mountain Che Yu family of three presents an upper-grade Tier One Red Jade Spiritual Peach to celebrate Elder Ye’s Purple Mansion Great Success, may the Path be bright!”

…

Any gifts above upper-grade Tier One were cheered for, whether from loose cultivators or clan cultivators.

For middle-grade Tier One gifts or lower, they were recorded on bamboo slips, to be reciprocated at future ceremonies.

As the gift-giving cultivators ascended the peak, everything about Lingyun Peak came into view.

The Ye family’s spirit beasts were naturally a hallmark, visible to all, Lingyun Peak indeed had many.

Many were also eager to see how many Purple Mansion Ascendants would appear, and if any Golden Core True Masters would make an appearance.

And what of the Mo and Xu Families of Taihang Commandery?

When most loose cultivators and Qi Cultivation Clan members had arrived, the Chen family made an appearance.

“The Shanyue Chen Family’s Chen Xuanzhou represents the Chen Family, presenting a Tier Two Purple Heart Jade to congratulate Ye Family Elder’s Purple Mansion Great Success, may the Path be bright!”
