Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Chapter 126: Chapter 127: Beast Taming

With the arrival of early morning, many birds have already begun chirping on Lingyun Peak.

Ye Jingcheng took out a small jade disc, poured all the remaining Spiritual Essence Liquid into it, and then infused each of the Purple Illusion Flower Seeds with some Treasure Light before placing them into the jade disc.

The thirty seeds were now all larger than when Ye Jingcheng had taken them from Ye Xinghan, with a few even showing faint tiny sprouts.

These seeds, due to the Treasure Light, were hungrily absorbing the Spiritual Essence Liquid, drawing in nourishment.

After soaking up enough Spiritual Essence Liquid, they began to emit a faint purple-red Spiritual Light, appearing more vibrant.

Ye Jingcheng shook the jade disc to even out the seeds, then headed towards the Spirit Field.

In the Spirit Field, the Jade Ring Rat had overturned the ground once again.

The land looked radiant and lively, and by closing its eyes and sensing carefully, one could feel countless Spiritual Energy being continually drawn into the ground under the support of the Spirit Gathering Array.

Additionally, over thirty small pits for holding seeds had been dug in the soil.

Ye Jingcheng was very satisfied with this, waved at the Jade Ring Rat, and took out a Cyan Spirit Pill as a reward for the latter.

The Jade Ring Rat chirped excitedly as it held the Cyan Spirit Pill, its eyes shining brightly.

Even though it had tasted a Cyan Spirit Pill before, it still regarded it as a divine object.

However, Ye Jingcheng also noticed that at the rat’s paws, its skin was different from other areas, appearing to have been worn and regrown several times.

Next, Ye Jingcheng took out a jade talisman, matching what he found in the family records and what his Sixteenth Uncle, Ye Xinghan, taught him, and began sowing the seeds one by one.

What surprised Ye Jingcheng slightly was that every time he finished sowing, the Jade Ring Rat would come over, clumsily cover the seeds with a small layer of soil, and bury them!

It appeared to be extremely proficient, as if it had learned it from somewhere.

After all, the Jade Ring Rat wandered around Lingyun Peak the most, so it wasn’t surprising that it had seen planting before.

Ye Jingcheng immediately felt relieved and smiled, continuing forward to plant, while the Jade Ring Rat followed behind burying the seeds!

Once all thirty seeds were sown, Ye Jingcheng also carefully planted the stems of the Spring Tea Tree beside them.

The tea tree stems were simpler, being mere mortal tea that had been infused with Spiritual Energy by Ye Xinghan, not even reaching Tier One Lower Grade.

Yet the fertility of his Spirit Field was comparable to a Tier One Middle Grade Spirit Field.

Basically, as long as the tea stems were inserted, covered with soil, and watered a few times, they could survive.

Soon, three tea trees were planted, but after some thought, Ye Jingcheng decided to infuse the three tea stems with more Treasure Light.

Some of this Treasure Light even began to overflow.

The tea trees evidently could not absorb it fully.

This was within Ye Jingcheng’s expectations.

Just like with Spirit Beasts, those with strong bloodlines absorb more and grow faster.

Ye Jingcheng straightened up, looking at the piece of Spirit Land under the sunlight, shimmering with faint Spiritual Light, feeling supremely satisfied.

Finally, he owned a piece of Spirit Field, fully planted with Purple Illusion Flowers, from which he would eventually harvest a powerful swarm of Five Poison Bees, and a considerable amount of Spiritual Honey.

Thinking of this, Ye Jingcheng couldn’t help feeling more content, his hands forming a Spirit Technique, causing Spiritual Light to circulate, turning into layers of thin mist.

The thin mist then became denser, transforming into a dark cloud.

Soon, the sound of滴嗒滴嗒 echoed, as rain began to pour down.

Unlike other places, here using the Cloud-Forming and Rain-Spreading Technique did not stir up any dust.

In the Spirit Field, not even the color of the soil changed, which was wondrous to behold.

After finishing this, Ye Jingcheng checked the Array Disc, then returned to his courtyard.

He hadn’t practiced Alchemy for a long time, this period of neglect had caused his Contribution Points within his Token to decrease significantly.

Additionally, burying Spirit Stones in the Spirit Field had also greatly reduced the number of Spirit Stones in his Storage Bag.

Now that he had reached a breakthrough, it was the perfect time to test the impact of his cultivation on Alchemy.

He would try refining the Top-grade Spirit Nurturing Pill again.

Ye Jingcheng took out the Cyan Elephant Furnace and summoned the Red Flame Fox.

He then began retrieving Alchemy Materials, though he didn’t take out the materials for the Spirit Nurturing Pill, but rather those for a Cyan Spirit Pill.

Even though he had reached Qi Cultivation Eighth Layer, having not practiced Alchemy for three months, it was better to test with a Cyan Spirit Pill.

Finding his rhythm again.

“Fire!” Ye Jingcheng instructed the Red Flame Fox.

Soon a flame surged towards the Cyan Incense Burner.

The temperature came in terrifyingly high.

This time, Ye Jingcheng intended to experiment with the Rapid Furnace Technique once demonstrated by Ye Haiyun!

Ye Haiyun was in the Qi Cultivation Ninth Layer back then, and even though Ye Jingcheng was at the Qi Cultivation Eighth Layer now, he had the advantage of the Red Flame Fox.

In an instant, beneath the scorching heat, the Cyan Elephant Furnace emitted low elephant trumpeting sounds.

Ultimately, the Cyan Elephant Furnace glowed with cyan light, and a clear elephant trumpeting sounded!

Rapid Furnacing was a success!

Ye Jingcheng smiled with delight, though still a few breaths slower than Ye Haiyun, the gap was becoming negligible!

With practice, he might even bridge this difference.

With the furnace ready, the next step was refining the melted medicine.

As each Spirit Medicine entered the Pill Furnace, Ye Jingcheng found that his understanding deepened once more.

The melting process proceeded smoother than imagined.

Finally, the Pill Furnace began to spin, and at the same time, the flames’ temperature started to drop.

Everything was under his control.

Again, accompanied by a crisp elephant trumpeting sound, the furnace lid flew high into the air.

Inside the Pill Furnace, there were as many as nine Cyan Spirit Pills!

Furthermore, most of them were emitting a cyan glow, with a rich Pill Fragrance spreading out!

Ye Jingcheng didn’t know how many times he was satisfied with a smile.

He placed seven Cyan Spirit Pills into a Jade Bottle, and handed the remaining two pills with a lingering Pill Fragrance to the Red Flame Fox!

The Red Flame Fox stuck out its bright red little tongue and rolled both pills into its mouth.

Then it started to act spoiled, something it hadn’t done in a long time.

It cooed softly in contentment, resting its chin in Ye Jingcheng’s palm, unwilling to move, and kept nuzzling, emitting waves of warmth.

Its pair of blue eyes gazed at Ye Jingcheng, sparkling with light.

Furthermore, a Divine Soul Fluctuation emanated, indicating it wanted the Spirit Cultivation Pill from last time.

It even wondered why Ye Jingcheng was giving more Spiritual Food to the Jade Qilin Snake and the Jade Ring Rat.

Ye Jingcheng withdrew his hand, letting the Red Flame Fox’s hopes fade.

This left the Red Flame Fox a bit disappointed, looking somewhat pitiable, with its two tails wagging like twin flames.

Ye Jingcheng’s expression remained indifferent, unmoved.

For these Spirit Beasts, sometimes Ye Jingcheng would indulge them a bit, but he couldn’t do it every time, or it would be a major taboo in Beast Taming.

This was recorded in the first lesson of the Ye Family’s Beast Taming course.

Spirit Beasts would grow increasingly intelligent and develop other ideas.

Fighting for favor was all too common in the Ye Family.

Therefore, sometimes they absolutely must not be pampered.

All Spirit Beasts in the Ye Family started with the purpose of serving the Cultivators; this must never change.

This Red Flame Fox’s intelligence was clearly not low, and Ye Jingcheng’s complexion worsening made it instantly regret.

“Go practice dodging with the Golden Scale!” Ye Jingcheng commanded, then called the Golden Scale over.

To let the two of them have a good practice session.

The Golden Scale Beast beside them was immediately overjoyed; when the Red Flame Fox ate the Cyan Spirit Pill earlier, it was quite envious. Now it was exceptionally happy.

It even thought about when Ye Jingcheng would make the Jade Qilin Snake practice dodging too.

After all, this long creature was more annoying!

And it didn’t like to move, with its eyes often foggy and listless!

The Golden Scale Beast and the Red Flame Fox trained until the second day, and after the training, Ye Jingcheng appeared in front of the Red Flame Fox again, stroking the back of its neck.

The latter now had a few more injuries, and Ye Jingcheng infused Treasure Light to heal the Red Flame Fox.

Compared to other Ye Family Members, Ye Jingcheng’s advantage lay in this.

He could train his Spirit Beasts in combat all day without worrying about them getting injured or leaving hidden wounds.

It even affected subsequent growth.

Thus, the combat power of Ye Jingcheng’s Spirit Beasts would be stronger than those living in the wild, and would never decline in strength after being domesticated.

“Coo coo!” The Red Flame Fox raised its eyes, looking at Ye Jingcheng with some vitality, emanating a friendly Divine Soul Fluctuation.

Ye Jingcheng also took out that Spirit Cultivation Pill.

The Red Flame Fox looked puzzled.

It didn’t understand why Ye Jingcheng refused yesterday, yet gave it today.

“A cultivator’s growth relies on their own efforts, and so does a Spirit Beast. If you want to maintain your top position with me, it’s not by whispering in my ear, but by your own efforts!” Ye Jingcheng explained, not caring if the Red Flame Fox understood.

He knew that Spirit Foxes and Flood Dragons were proud Spirit Beasts. The Jade Qilin Snake didn’t like competition, but the Red Flame Fox wasn’t like that; it often competed fiercely with the Golden Scale Beast.

Although the latter feared it.

It even lay under his bed each time to assert its status.

Of course, Ye Jingcheng often admonished the Golden Scale Beast too!

After the Red Flame Fox took the Spirit Cultivation Pill, the change was greater than swallowing an ordinary Spirit Nourishing Pill.

Its red fur became even more crimson, as if igniting a shallow flame.

The two tails also seemed broader.

The Spirit Pattern on its forehead became even clearer.

The Red Flame Fox radiated an intention to refine, which wasn’t surprising to Ye Jingcheng.

So he let it return to its room to refine.

After all, most of the Ye Family’s Spirit Cultivation Pills were meant as food for Tier Two Spirit Beasts.

A few were used for late-stage Tier One Spirit Beasts with extraordinary talent.

The Spiritual Energy contained within was naturally impressive.

He believed that after the Red Flame Fox took this Spirit Cultivation Pill, it could make some progress in its cultivation.

The Red Flame Fox refined the Spirit Cultivation Pill for a full day and night.

On the third day, it could continue alchemy.

This time, Ye Jingcheng was refining another Spirit Cultivation Pill.

The Pill Furnace still employed the Secondary Furnace Technique, but this time with more experience and higher cultivation level.

So the refining process was more skillful and smooth.

Ultimately using the Three-Part Alchemy Method, two Spirit Cultivation Pills were produced.

Ye Jingcheng was very satisfied, observing the two Spirit Pills for a moment before putting them away.

As for the Pill Residue, he disposed of it slightly before tossing it into the Spirit Field.

In the following time, Ye Jingcheng became busier.

Watering the Purple Illusion Flower, alchemy, studying alchemy, and taming beasts during the day, and cultivating at night.

The days passed swiftly too.
