Apocalyptic Disaster: The King of Soldiers' Ultimate Pampering

86: Chapter 86 Ye Qingqing could never possibly not want it.Meng Hangfei looked at Huo Siyan, his eyes revealing surprise.

Watching Huo Siyan’s actions, it was clear his intention was to save that RV.

”B-boss, you need to think this through clearly. That’s a zombie horde over there. Forget the four of us, even if we brought a whole squad, we might not be able to handle such a massive wave of zombies...”

Seeing this, Meng Hangfei immediately gulped.

If that zombie horde turned from the RV’s direction and attacked them instead, the consequences would be unthinkable.

Moreover, the temperature was getting higher and higher. If they didn’t return to the base soon...

These few people of theirs would either be killed by zombies or die from the heat out here.

Although Huo Siyan wasn’t entirely sure himself, for some reason, he had a strong gut feeling telling him that Ye Qingqing might be there.

Sometimes, this sixth sense thing seemed very metaphysical, yet one had to admit that sometimes it was incredibly accurate.

”Launch.”

Huo Siyan spoke in a low, steady voice.

Although Meng Hangfei and the others had doubts in their hearts, these were Huo Siyan’s orders.

Therefore, Meng Hangfei and the others believed that if Huo Siyan said so, there must be a reason for it.

The most important thing for a team is unity of purpose.

Seeing the situation, Lu Huan found a signal flare from inside the vehicle and fired one into the air in the direction Huo Siyan indicated.

This audible signal flare was extremely loud.

Its purpose was precisely for situations when, while out on missions, encountering a zombie horde that couldn’t be avoided by manpower alone.

However, these zombies would chase towards the source of the sound.

It’s just that, after launching the signal flare, one needed to quickly distance themselves from the launch site.

Otherwise, it would be disastrous once the zombies attacked.

The moment the signal flare shot into the sky, Huo Siyan and his group immediately drove their vehicle away from the spot.

At this moment, Ye Qingqing, who had originally been racking her brains on how to break through the current situation and had even prepared to directly retreat into her space...

Unexpectedly heard the sharp sound of a signal flare coming from not far away.

That sound seemed to have a peculiar attraction for the zombies.

Ye Qingqing noticed that the surrounding zombies, upon hearing the signal flare, froze for an instant.

Then, in large numbers, they began to withdraw from around Ye Qingqing’s RV.

From the looks of it, it was as if something was powerfully drawing these zombies away.

Ye Qingqing’s heart leapt with joy.

She didn’t care what exactly was attracting these zombies over there.

What she cared about was whether she could now break out of this zombie encirclement.

At the same time, Ye Qingqing suddenly stopped moving.

She also cut the RV’s engine.

The zombies that had been clinging to Ye Qingqing’s RV now released their grip and charged straight towards the location where the signal flare was launched.

Ye Qingqing considered whether to retreat into her space now.

But as large swathes of zombies retreated from the hillside...

Only then did Ye Qingqing clearly see the situation around the hillside.

It was completely exposed, desolate, and barren. Even from a distance, one could clearly see the situation on the hillside.

This also meant that every move Ye Qingqing made on this hillside could be seen by others.

Having realized this, Ye Qingqing gave up on the idea of taking the RV into her space.

She simply waited quietly for the zombies around the RV to withdraw completely.

The temperature outside grew higher and higher. Ye Qingqing looked outside the RV; the ground was emitting heat waves visible to the naked eye.

Wave after wave, as if intent on evaporating everything on the ground.

Ye Qingqing had no doubt that if she stepped out of the RV now, her entire body would be roasted to a crisp by the heat.

On the other side, after the zombies on the hillside withdrew from around the RV, Huo Siyan and his group drove their vehicle faster and faster.

It looked as if some ferocious beast was chasing them.

But in fact, the speed of these zombies was indeed like a ferocious beast. Because the zombie horde was so vast, from a distance, it looked like a dark, oppressive flood continuously advancing down the hillside.

It was like a plague of locusts. Moreover, these zombies showed no fear of the scorching sun.

It seemed as if, in this extreme heat, only the surviving humans and animals suffered.

Even the plants had all vanished in this heat, leaving only withered branches.

Only after waiting for the zombies to completely retreat did Ye Qingqing loosen her tightly clenched grip on the steering wheel.

She took a deep, ragged breath.

Fine beads of sweat broke out on her forehead; her whole body felt as if it had been fished out of water.

Ye Qingqing was still worried about Ah Huang and wanted to check how he was doing.

Weakly, Ye Qingqing struggled up from her seat and made her way with difficulty to Ah Huang’s side.

A hoarse, weathered voice came from her mouth: ”Ah Huang...”

Ah Huang did not respond to Ye Qingqing’s call.

He heard Ye Qingqing’s voice, but lacked the Ability to reply.

Ah Huang was having a dream. In the dream, he was running across volcanic rock.

He wanted to find a place to rest his paws, but every spot was burning hot. The pads of his paws found no place to step.

With every step, it hurt terribly.

He missed Ye Qingqing so much. Ah Huang ran desperately, trying to find any trace of Ye Qingqing on the volcanic rock.

But Ah Huang ran all over the mountain and didn’t see Ye Qingqing.

For a moment, he thought Ye Qingqing had abandoned him.

But deep down, Ah Huang knew that Ye Qingqing loved him the most. Ye Qingqing would never abandon him.

Ah Huang grew anxious in his heart. He thought he must have gotten lost, and Ye Qingqing couldn’t find him either.

But he ran and ran, no matter what, he couldn’t find Ye Qingqing’s figure.

He couldn’t even find a single corner of Ye Qingqing’s clothing.

Gradually, Ah Huang grew somewhat frantic, letting out low, whimpering growls of distress.

His whole being slumped in profound dejection.

Suddenly, Ah Huang seemed to hear Ye Qingqing’s voice.

He heard Ye Qingqing calling his name. In his sleep, Ah Huang began to run hard again, trying to follow the sound of Ye Qingqing’s voice to find her.

But once more, Ah Huang ran all over the volcanic rock and still didn’t see Ye Qingqing’s figure.

Ye Qingqing, by his side, didn’t know what kind of dream Ah Huang was having.

But she saw Ah Huang’s whole body emitting uncomfortable growls.

Even his body trembled violently.

It was as if he was seeing something frightening, and low whimpers escaped his mouth.

Ye Qingqing’s heart ached terribly. She reached out, touched Ah Huang’s body, and patted him gently, again and again.

Trying to calm him down.

But after feeling Ye Qingqing’s touch, Ah Huang’s whole body trembled even more violently.

In his struggle, he even started running in place with all four legs.

In his dream, Ah Huang sensed Ye Qingqing’s scent and knew she was trying to soothe him.

But he just couldn’t find her.

Moreover, other sounds began echoing in Ah Huang’s mind...
