Apocalyptic Disaster: The King of Soldiers' Ultimate Pampering

67: Chapter 66 Ancient VirusAs Ye Qingqing left the space, she couldn’t help but think this to herself.

Ah Huang barked from the side, expressing his full agreement.

After all, Ah Huang also felt that being alone in the space as a dog was truly a bit boring.

Early the next morning, Ye Qingqing put Ah Huang back into the space and then headed out alone.

She arrived at the meeting spot agreed upon with Zuo Yuxing two minutes early.

She just hadn’t expected that Zuo Yuxing would be even earlier than her.

”You’re quite early, Qingqing,” Zuo Yuxing greeted Ye Qingqing with a smile.

”Hello, Officer Zuo. You’re early too.”

Zuo Yuxing looked at Ye Qingqing and couldn’t help but blush. Today, Ye Qingqing was wearing a pair of tan cargo pants paired with a tight-fitting tank top.

Her hair was tied in a high ponytail, making her look particularly elegant.

Ye Qingqing was naturally beautiful, but her current sharp attire gave her an air of subtle aggression, tinged with a striking allure.

Zuo Yuxing scratched his head bashfully. ”How could I let a girl wait for me?”

Hearing this, Ye Qingqing’s impression of Zuo Yuxing only grew better.

”Excuse me, Officer Zuo, where should I go for the interview?”

Zuo Yuxing smiled slightly. ”Just follow me.”

Ye Qingqing raised an eyebrow and asked, ”Is Officer Zuo in charge of the interview?”

If Ye Qingqing remembered correctly, Zuo Yuxing had told her that he was part of the Patrol Team Two.

But what was the situation now?

”It’s true that I’m with the Patrol Team Two, but we’re short-staffed right now, so I’m handling the interview questions.”

Hearing this, Ye Qingqing couldn’t help but harbor some private calculations.

If it was Zuo Yuxing, would her interview be a bit easier?

But immediately after, Ye Qingqing dismissed the thought.

”Qingqing, I’ll be blunt. The Volunteers interview is very strict. Although it says ’volunteer,’ once you’re trained, you’ll be heading to the battlefield.”

”After all, as you know, the zombie virus is rampant. We’re on a Warship now, but sooner or later, this Warship will have to make landfall.”

”When that time comes, we’ll be facing thousands upon thousands of zombies.”

Listening to Zuo Yuxing, Ye Qingqing unconsciously grew serious. She didn’t know much about zombies, but their rate of mutation was much faster than she had imagined.

So, at this moment, Ye Qingqing couldn’t help but ask, ”So, what’s the deal with these zombies exactly?”

Zuo Yuxing’s brow furrowed. ”You know that the world isn’t peaceful right now. It’s not man-made, but from nature.”

”The recent Typhoon and the current heavy rain are both major upheavals in the natural world.”

”In fact, nature gave us warnings long ago, but none of us took them seriously. Humanity’s reckless exploitation of natural resources led to an extreme imbalance, coupled with the intensification of global high temperatures...”

Zuo Yuxing fell silent for a moment before a smile touched his lips. ”Sorry, I’ve said a bit too much.”

”Actually, we don’t know much about the zombie virus yet, but according to news from the Capital City, this zombie virus comes from ancient times.”

Hearing this, Ye Qingqing couldn’t help but frown. ”Ancient Virus?”

”Yes. Originally, this virus was sealed in Ancient Glaciers, but as global temperatures rose and the Polar Glaciers gradually melted, some very old viruses actually leaked out long ago.”
