Apocalyptic Disaster: The King of Soldiers' Ultimate Pampering

66: Chapter 67 My Brain Is Itching”It’s just that we never noticed until the raging Typhoon and this rainstorm caused the zombie virus to fully break out.”

”Moreover, in fact, every one of us carries the zombie virus; it’s airborne. It’s just that our bodies’ own antibodies have resisted the mutation of that zombie virus.”

Ye Qingqing gasped, and a chill ran down her spine as she thought about the implications.

Why?

Clearly, it was the same as her previous life, both had Typhoons, but in this life, with the addition of the rainstorm, the zombie virus broke out.

After hearing this, Ye Qingqing suddenly felt her brain was very itchy, as if something was about to grow out of it.

But Ye Qingqing couldn’t figure it out.

Zuo Yuxing looked at Ye Qingqing and couldn’t help but smile: ”Scared?”

”Actually, it’s not that serious. I’m telling you this just so you know that if you join the Volunteers, many things afterward will no longer be up to you.”

”Because, you have to obey the Army’s orders.”

Ye Qingqing pondered in her heart. In truth, she didn’t want to join the military. Her goal was simply to improve her backing so she would have an extra bargaining chip to survive in the Post-Apocalyptic World.

As for anything else, Ye Qingqing felt that since internet technology was gone anyway and she had her space, she could just use the ’bathroom excuse’ to flee when the time came.

Ye Qingqing was very selfish and didn’t have much patriotism in her heart. All she wanted was to live peacefully in this life, and that was it.

”Okay,” Ye Qingqing feigned agreement on the surface.

”What do I need to do?”

”The interview has three parts: Physical Strength, Mental Strength, and Ability.”

Ye Qingqing was a bit suspicious. She could understand physical and Mental Strength, but this ’Ability’...

Ye Qingqing was a bit dazed; she couldn’t quite understand what specifically ’Ability’ referred to.

Zuo Yuxing looked at Ye Qingqing’s expression and knew what she was wondering about.

”Actually, it mainly looks at Physical Strength, which is also why women generally don’t join the Volunteers.”

”These Volunteers, like Soldiers, have to undergo rigorous training. During the training process, they don’t care about your gender; everything is treated equally.”

Ye Qingqing nodded: ”No problem.”

”Do we start now?”

While the two were talking, Zuo Yuxing had already led Ye Qingqing to a Training Ground.

This Training Ground was as large as a football field from before the Post-Apocalyptic World.

Ye Qingqing felt that this Warship had really spared no expense. After all, it was a ship; even if it was massive, carving out a Training Ground on it was no easy feat.

”Okay, let’s begin.”

After Zuo Yuxing said this, his face suddenly became serious, causing Ye Qingqing to re-evaluate him.

Because after Zuo Yuxing spoke, his aura changed. His originally delicate face now wore a very serious expression, adding a sense of sharpness to his entire being.

It gave off a very oppressive feeling.

The first test was running, but it wasn’t just running, because on that track, Zuo Yuxing would randomly add some obstacles for Ye Qingqing.

She had to complete the course within the allotted time and avoid the obstacles.

After seeing it, Ye Qingqing couldn’t help but gasp, looking at Zuo Yuxing with a shocked gaze.

In fact, Ye Qingqing was silently grumbling in her heart: was this really selecting Volunteers and not special forces?

When Ye Qingqing got onto the track, she saw the roadblocks set up ahead.

Like parkour, Ye Qingqing pressed her hands onto the roadblock ahead and vaulted straight over the first obstacle like she was mounting a saddle.

But as soon as she crossed the first one, the second obstacle arrived quickly.

It was a large pit.

Filled with fine sand.

Ye Qingqing knew she had to leap directly over the sandpit, just like a long jump.

Ye Qingqing took a deep breath, then sprinted rapidly, making a powerful leap when she reached the edge of the sandpit.

This sandpit was much further than Ye Qingqing had imagined.

She almost fell in.

Fortunately, she stabilized herself just as she was about to tumble.

The third obstacle.

No, this couldn’t even be called an obstacle, because in front of Ye Qingqing was a row of long bars.

She had to use her arms to swing back and forth forcefully to get across.

For some reason, Ye Qingqing suddenly thought of the water obstacle course games from before the Post-Apocalyptic World. She felt that the setup of this track had some similarities to those games.

Ye Qingqing cracked her neck, then leaped up, her hands gripping the first bar.

The distance between the second and first bars wasn’t very far, and Ye Qingqing crossed it easily.

But then, Ye Qingqing found that the distance between the third and second bars was further than the distance between the second and first.

But for now, Ye Qingqing could still cross it.

The subsequent distances were all like this, increasing incrementally.

By the time she reached the 10th bar, Ye Qingqing found her Physical Strength was starting to fail.

Because this time, the distance between the 10th and 11th bars was such that even with her arms fully extended and straightened, she couldn’t reach it.

Only by swinging her arms with great force, using inertia and a leap from her body, could she cross it.

Ye Qingqing was already quite tired at this point.

Climbing with her arms for the previous 10 bars had already exhausted all her strength.

Zuo Yuxing saw that Ye Qingqing was struggling to hold on.

He couldn’t help but call out: ”Keep going! Cross these last few bars, and the physical test will be over.”

Zuo Yuxing’s brow furrowed slightly. In fact, the distance between the 10th and 11th bars was something an average man could pass normally.

But Ye Qingqing was a woman. The difference in physical stature between men and women made Ye Qingqing’s interview much more difficult than a man’s.

Ye Qingqing knew in her heart that she had to hurry; otherwise, hanging there, her strength would eventually run out.

Ye Qingqing thought to herself that this Volunteer interview was much harder than she had anticipated.

However, Ye Qingqing was not someone who gave up easily.

She took a deep breath, then used her whole body to start swinging in a large arc.

Her entire body was like a pendulum. When she reached the highest point, Ye Qingqing released her hands, tightened her core, exerted power from her waist and abdomen, and lunged forward in the air.

Then, her hands firmly grasped the 11th bar.

Watching Ye Qingqing’s test, Zuo Yuxing felt even more nervous than if he were testing himself.

He even involuntarily whispered ”Beautiful” when he saw Ye Qingqing’s elegant mid-air exertion.

As the minutes and seconds ticked by.

More and more people gathered at the Training Ground. At first, when people saw someone undergoing a Volunteer interview on the track, no one paid much attention.
