Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

Chapter 1073: Chapter 1077: I’m Afraid to Be Alone

”Young Master, where are you going? Let me come with you.” If it was work-related, as his secretary, she had the duty to accompany him.

”No need, stay here,” Beitang Yao shook his head. He was already at the Xuan Gate, putting on his shoes. Before leaving, he took a deep look at Xia Qingqian and repeated, ”Remember, don’t go anywhere.”

Xia Qingqian also walked to his side, looking up at him. She noticed his complexion wasn’t good; even though he always seemed cold, there was now an indescribable feeling.

She didn’t know why, but she impulsively stepped forward and hugged his lean waist from behind, burying her face against his back, listening to his heartbeat, and said, ”Young Master, I’ll wait here for you to come back. I’m afraid alone.”

Beitang Yao paused with his hand on the doorknob, his body stiffening. He hadn’t expected Xia Qianqian to voluntarily hold him, let alone say such words to him. Did she think something would happen?

He took a deep breath, reached out to untangle her hands, and calmly said, ”I’m leaving.” Those simple words stabbed at Xia Qingqian’s heart, leaving her lost. Turns out he didn’t need her concern at all, not even wanting to take her with him.

Watching him open the door and leave, she turned back to the spacious presidential suite and raised a lonely smile at the corners of her mouth. She walked back to the dining table, eating alone without any taste. With Beitang Yao here earlier, despite feeling tense, her heart was indeed sweet because he accompanied her for a meal.

She often fantasized how great it would be if she and him were lovers, living a sweet life. But these were merely her imaginations, and even if it were true, she wouldn’t forgive herself or respect herself, knowing she loved Qiao Zhenyu, so how could she have feelings for Beitang Yao?

She felt deeply conflicted, suddenly losing her appetite, putting down the knife and fork, recalling Beitang Yao’s expression after receiving the call. She felt something was amiss; what was happening with him? She rarely saw him like this; he always handled everything with composure.

Beitang Yao, where did he go after answering the call? Why wouldn’t he let her follow, insisting she stay here and wait for him?

Initially, she wanted to take out her phone to call Beitang Yao, but she realized her purse was in Beitang Yao’s car. Besides, she didn’t even know where this place was, far from the villa?

Xia Qingqian stopped overthinking, changed her shoes, opened the door, and found two male and two female attendants standing outside. Upon seeing Xia Qingqian step out, they all respectfully greeted her.

She offered a gentle smile, intending to leave, but was stopped by the two male attendants, who politely asked, ”Miss Xia, do you require any services?”

Xia Qingqian halted, raising her eyes to the speaking man and said, ”No, I want to leave.”

The man professionally smiled, ”Miss Xia, Mr. Beitang instructed before he left that you should wait here for his return. If you don’t need any services, please return to the room, okay?”

Xia Qingqian frowned, realizing she wasn’t allowed to leave. Did Beitang Yao really distrust her so much, not trusting her to be here alone? Was he afraid she’d restlessly run off to find another man?
