Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

Chapter 1053: Chapter 1057: Is This Difficult for You?

Listening to Maria, Xia Qingqian fell into contemplation. Leaning against the wall, she exuded a lazy aura, slightly frowning, and asked, ”When will the Young Master return?”

”The Young Master instructed that he would be back for lunch,” Maria replied.

”Maria, I’d like to trouble you for a favor, could you help me?” Xia Qingqian straightened up and looked at Maria.

”Miss Qing Qian, is there something I can help you with?” Maria was truly flattered. She didn’t expect Xia Qingqian to ask her for a favor and didn’t know what kind of favor it would be.

Xia Qingqian asked Maria to wait for a moment. She opened the bathroom door and came out fifteen minutes later, fully dressed, and then said to Maria, ”That forest, can I go in?”

Maria looked at the place Xia Qingqian was pointing to and couldn’t help but shiver. It wasn’t that people couldn’t go into that forest; rather, no one dared to. The forest was forbidden.

”What’s wrong? Is it very difficult for you?” Xia Qingqian noticed Maria’s hesitation and asked, ”I just want to go down there to find something. Once I find it, I’ll come right out, definitely before the Young Master returns.”

”That’s not something I can decide. Actually, it was the lady’s playground, like a fairyland, resembling ancient China. One could describe it as beautiful. But after the lady left, the Young Master ordered it to be sealed off and made it forbidden. Without the Young Master’s authorization and approval, no one can enter.”

”Forbidden?” Xia Qingqian thought about what Maria said and found it increasingly unbelievable. Rich people really love to make a fuss. She just wanted to pick up the ring, but who would have thought it was forbidden? It’s truly incomprehensible.

”Yes, Miss Qing Qian, so I’m powerless to help.” Maria shrugged, indicating her helplessness.

”Well, okay. Thank you for telling me all this.” Xia Qingqian had no choice but to give up for now; it wouldn’t be too late to go when Maria was preparing lunch.

After breakfast, Xia Qingqian sat in the living room for a while, flipping through magazines on the coffee table and watching some TV. Glancing at the ancient clock on the wall, she pondered for a moment. Maria’s meal preparation would take some time, and she could use this time to go to the forest and look for the ring in the area where Beitang Yao tossed it; she might find it.

She stood up, watching Maria busy in the kitchen, then quietly tiptoed outside. However, Beitang Yao’s surveillance was tight, with pinhole cameras everywhere she went and tall, formidable shadows patrolling the grounds.

It turns out Beitang Yao hired bodyguards everywhere. She wandered around the garden, smelling flowers, touching flowers, looking at others, while her eyes were always on those shadows, watching when they would leave, hoping they wouldn’t watch so diligently.

Inwardly, she silently prayed: Please leave, please leave, don’t patrol here any longer, it’s broad daylight, what could possibly happen? Beitang Yao is making a fuss over nothing.

The bodyguards, noticing Xia Qingqian in the garden, merely nodded slightly toward her and continued their work.

Xia Qingqian noticed the bodyguards checking their watches and breathed a sigh of relief, thinking they finally left.

But just as she believed they had indeed left, and she walked toward the forest entrance, which was a large iron gate, she had just placed her hand on the chilly gate when a voice came from behind, ”Miss Xia, is there something you need?”
