One-Eyed Monster

At this moment, the spirit power projection of Lord Soron suddenly turned serious.

It seemed that something crucial was mentioned, and Lord Soron’s tone became more cautious, afraid of being discovered by others.

My children, the opponents you are facing now are extremely powerful, and these powerful enemies do not dwell on our continent. I still haven’t figured out where they come from. These formidable enemies are formless and invisible, yet they can possess our bodies, and we hold no advantage in front of them, one could say we are at their mercy.

You might wonder why, with their formidable strength, they don’t replace us directly. It’s not a difficult task for them. This is something beyond our understanding, perhaps the timing isn’t right, or maybe for some other reason. Anyway, they haven’t fully unfolded their plans yet. But these powerful foes must have weaknesses; it’s just that we haven’t discovered them yet. I can sense their caution and hesitation. Clearly, they haven’t fully launched their invasion plan.

What I want to tell you is about their methods and what you need to pay attention to.

What I say might seem dull, but you must listen carefully, without any hesitation.

Lord Soron’s words shocked everyone. On one hand, they felt that Lord Soron was just too verbose, and on the other hand, they found the whole matter rather incredulous—why wouldn’t these powerful enemies replace them since they clearly have the ability!

However, Lord Soron didn’t clarify, merely offering vague reasons. It seems this reason is something they need to discover themselves, posing quite the thorny problem.

Soron hadn’t completely finished speaking; his spirit power projection consistently paused intermittently, as if intentionally giving people time to ponder.

And the timing was just right; as soon as people were done thinking, he continued speaking.

Now, Lord Soron began to speak again.

Many things are familiar to us. The methods employed by these powerful enemies are exactly like the spirit power we use, as if they solely exist as spirit power.

Upon hearing this, Igor’s heart skipped a beat... he felt part of his conjecture was being confirmed, so his heart raced with excitement. Realizing that his hypothesis was about to be proven, he couldn’t help but feel elated.

Lord Soron had not finished speaking, continuing his discourse.

Those enemies, like our spirit power, cannot act directly in our world. They must depend on us to act. This is something I can confirm. Think about those who explored the Wilderness; although they eventually emerged, perhaps only Navas and I can still be considered truly ourselves.

Navas was an adventurer from the same era as Soron. After returning from the Wilderness, he directly retired from the entire profession, saying he could no longer explore new worlds, leaving opportunities for the young. Now, hearing Lord Soron’s words, it turns out that the veteran Navas chose to hide because of certain shocks.

After that, Navas and I acted very discreetly, using our methods to explore our enemies. After all, we know the enemies are clever beings, able to directly sense any of our spirit power actions. So when using any spirit power, we must proceed indirectly, or our target becomes too obvious and easily discovered by this bunch of enemies. Once found, we are very likely to have our consciousness stripped away, becoming someone else...

The days after Navas and I were torturous, for whatever we did felt like we were being watched. This feeling was very uncomfortable.

But we had no choice; things still had to be done, and we couldn’t just give up like that.

We used this discreet manner to write these books, then infused them with some spirit power, hoping these books could become Spirit Books. Once so, implementing our entire future plan would be twice as effective because the Spirit Books would bear our signatures, ensuring we are remembered.

To return to the powerful opponent, they can control us, occupy our bodies; they aren’t ordinary puppet insect worms or other parasites. They target the consciousness, directly devouring your and my consciousness, then replacing it. And when the flesh is no longer sustainable, they decisively leave to seek a new shell. To put it plainly, they can infinitely resurrect, with only the shell being damaged, not their destruction.

Lord Soron elaborated extensively, simply because he had mastered many details of the opponents. He believed that informing his heirs of these matters could fully assist them in defeating these future formidable enemies.

Lord Soron didn’t realize his heirs had already experienced these details... of course, not many had.

Igor’s heart pounded more vigorously because he felt increasingly excited, as these details were confirming his own conjecture.

Their enemies came from that Spirit World, where some of the awakened Spirits refused to sleep again, thus began staying in this world directly using extreme methods...

Lord Soron continued speaking, with this spirit power projection lasting for a relatively long time, though most of it was due to Lord Soron’s rambling.

Please remember the previous detail, now I’m going to speak about another aspect, which deserves more of your attention.

I’m going to talk about the portal.

I mentioned earlier that these powerful enemies aren’t from our world; they are from another, a world connected to ours by a portal, most parts of which are in those barren lands!

At this moment, Igor’s heart almost leaped out. Behind Guru Mountain’s Twin Peaks is a Wilderness!

Then that place must be where the Spirits are teleported from, so it seems Kadi was also teleported here.

Igor gradually sank into his own thoughts, feeling as though he was close to grasping the truth!

Those little things teleported from the Wilderness are drawing nearer to us; it won’t be long before they continue to appear. Some of these little things are monsters, others are people stripped of their bodies, anyway, that powerful enemy is subtly invading our world.

Though it’s merely a projection of spirit power, Lord Soron spoke passionately, believing his heirs will surely follow what he says. The two points he presented, Igor and Sol, have already witnessed...
