Reincarnated As a Fox With System

Chapter 986 Fire Guardianʼs Trial!

”Since the elemental spirits of the first three floors are in the form of animals, then there is a high chance that the last two floor guardians, Fire Guardian and Lightning Guardian, should also be in animal form. I wonder what the Fire Guardian looks like?” Tang Li Xue muttered in a curious tone.

Xiʼer nodded her head in agreement and said: ”Earth Guardian and Water Guardian said that Fire Guardian has a fiery temper and likes to fight, so I think it should have a majestic animal form, such as a flame lion, flame wolf king, or flame bear.”

”No, those animal forms are still not majestic enough. In my opinion, Fire Guardian should look like a dashing flame ape holding a long fire staff like Uncle Sun!” Tang Li Xue shook her head and replied in a tone filled with admiration.

”Uncle Sun? Who the heck is that?” Xiʼer asked in confusion.

Before Tang Li Xue could explain who her Uncle Sun was, they were immediately taken aback when they saw a huge majestic shadow on the wall!

”It seems I am right. This familiar shape of shadow... There is no mistake that Fire Guardian should be a flame lion!” Xiʼer proudly declared.

”No way! I think it should be a flame tiger... Something like a long-tooth tiger!” Tang Li Xue still refused to back down.

Tang Li Xue, Xiʼer, and the others proceeded vigilantly as they avoided the flame wall and finally met head-on with the majestic-looking Fire Guardian.

It was just that the majestic-looking Fire Guardian was not exactly the same as what they had guessed just now.

”Meow~!” The majestic-looking Fire Guardian greeted Tang Li Xue, Xiʼer, and her team.

Tang Li Xue: ”.....”

Xiʼer: ”.....”

After an awkward silence for a few moments, Tang Li Xue coughed to break the silence and muttered to Little Loki: ”Cough~! Hey, Little Loki, look! That fire cat seems to greet you. Can you say something to greet it back?”

Little Loki rolled its eyes disdainfully at Tang Li Xue.

While the Fire Guardian yelled in a displeased tone to Tang Li Xue: ”Hoy~! I am not a cat like your pet, okay?! I am a majestic Golden Flame Lynx!”

Little Loki glared angrily at the Fire Guardian and thought: ʼWho the heck do you call a cat?! I am also not a cat, okay?! I am the most terrifying mythical evil beast, Taotie!ʼ

Although both Tang Li Xue and Xiʼer were a bit disappointed that the true image of the Fire Guardian was not the same as they imagined, but they had to admit that this Fire Guardian was really cute.

It looked like a ragdoll cat with golden flames on the tip of its tail, ears, and limbs.

Tang Li Xue really wanted to hug and pet it so badly, but she was also afraid that she would get burned to death by this Fire Guardian if she tried to touch it carelessly.

”What is the difference between a lynx and a cat? Arenʼt they the same?” Xiʼer asked in puzzlement.

”They are not the same!” Fire Guardian yelled angrily at Xiʼer.

”Then what is the difference?” Xiʼer asked again curiously.

”The difference is huge! Such as... Err... Like... Umm... Cough, okay~! Letʼs stop wasting our time and begin the trial now!” Fire Guardian hastily shifted the topic.

Tang Li Xueʼs pink lips twitched slightly as she thought: ʼSo, you also do not know the difference either?!ʼ

The flames around them suddenly churned and formed a sentence right in front of them.

”Last for ten minutes on this Flame Floor? Only this?” Xiʼer murmured in disappointment.

”I am different from those puny weaklings downstairs. I will never hold myself back against you all, so you better do your best to not die too fast!” Fire Guardian reminded Tang Li Xue, Xiʼer, and the others in a nonchalant tone.

RUMBLE~! RUMBLE~! RUMBLE~! RUMBLE~!

The entire flames and magma in the Flame Floor suddenly went violent!

”Watch out, everyone!” Tang Li Xue shouted solemnly to remind everyone as the crimson flames and golden magma came at them like a flood!

Little Loki jumped down agilely from Tang Li Xueʼs shoulder and stood right in front of everyone as it activated its [Heavenʼs Devour]!

All the crimson flames and golden magma in front of Little Loki were sucked into its tiny mouth as if there was a tiny blackhole inside its mouth.

But the flames and magma were practically everywhere in this Flame Floor, so Little Loki alone clearly could not cover all sides by itself!

When those flames and magma came at them from their rear and flanks, Xiʼer, Lucia, and Yaya also made their moves to block those flames and magma!

[Death Energy Barrier]~!

[Golden Light Spell]~!

[Hurricane Barrier]~!

Xiʼer, Lucia, and Yaya managed to hold back those incoming flames and magma, but they clearly would not be able to hold them back for long!

Before Tang Li Xue could think of an effective way for them to survive for ten minutes, the flames and magma around them were suddenly spinning violently!

”Not good!” Tang Li Xue exclaimed in panic, but before she could warn the others about the sudden change.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM~!

A great explosion occurred and created a huge mushroom cloud as if a nuclear bomb had been dropped!

The terrifying heat shockwave swept the entire Flame Floor!

Fire Guardian widened its eyes in surprise as it muttered in awe: ”Hoo~! So, they can even still survive from that. Not bad, not bad at all~! But this is only the first minute...”

Yes, Tang Li Xue and her team managed to survive the great explosion thanks to Luciaʼs quick reaction.

At the last second, Lucia immediately activated her [Slow Motion] without any hesitation.

(Slow Motion: The user will feel the flow of time around him/her slow down tenfold. Buff duration: 5 minutes, Cooldown: 1 hour.)

Then, with her incredible speed, Lucia picked Tang Li Xue and the others one by one with her beak and threw all of them onto her back before she flew away with lightning speed to avoid the great explosion.

The flames and magma in the Flame Floor solidified into tens of thousands of fire lances!

Then those tens of thousands of fire lances were flying and chasing after Lucia, who was carrying everyone on her back!

RUMBLE~! RUMBLE~! RUMBLE~!

BOOOOM~! BOOOOM~! BOOOOM~! BOOOOM~!

Each of those fire lances instantly exploded greatly when they touched something!

It could easily be imagined if Lucia were even grazed by any of those fire lances, then her fate, along with everyone she carried on her back, would be very miserable!

However, Lucia was completely undaunted when she faced the merciless rain of explosive fire lances!

Lucia was flying in the zigzag pattern, tilting her body to the right and left, and even spinning around acrobatically to dodge all of those explosive fire lances by a hairʼs breadth!

Even though Tang Li Xue, Yaya, Little Loki, and Xiʼer already held Luciaʼs feathers tightly on her back in order not to get thrown away, but they almost could not hold on and got thrown away by the inertia.

”Wow, is that really a bird?! How could a mere bird move like that?! Even the naughty wind bird downstairs may not be able to move like that, right?!” Fire Guardian said in an astonished tone.

The tens of thousands of explosive fire lances transformed back again into flames and magma, then solidified into tens of thousands of small fire birds.

These small fire birds could also explode greatly like explosive fire lances, but they were faster and more agile!

Tens of thousands of small fire birds surrounded Lucia from all sides before they flashed toward Lucia like homing bullets!

Lucia skillfully dodged all the small fire birds without even touching any of them, but no matter where Lucia flew, those small fire birds would keep chasing after her!

Lucia might be much faster compared to those small fire birds while she was still in [Slow Motion] mode, but the number of those small fire birds was just too overwhelming.

With the tens of thousands of small fire birds chasing after Lucia from all sides, even Lucia would not be able to avoid all of them for long!

But just when Lucia almost could not handle it anymore...

[Cyclone Storm]~!

Yaya suddenly unleashed her strongest AoE (Area of Effect) attack!

Yayaʼs [Cyclone Storm] quickly swept all the small fire birds around them in one breath!

But another batch of small fire birds quickly came after them!

[Death Energy Rapid Slashes]~!

Xiʼer also swung the pitch-black [Sword of Disaster] in her grasp rapidly to destroy all the approaching fire birds!

Each of Xiʼerʼs slashes created a crescent-shaped black energy wave that mowed down so many fire birds at once!

Three minutes...

Four minutes...

Five minutes...

After five minutes had passed, the duration of Luciaʼs [Slow Motion] buff was finally over, and her overall speed instantly dropped significantly.

So far, Tang Li Xue and her team had only survived for six minutes.

They still had four more minutes until the time was up, but they felt the time was ticking too slowly at this point.

Currently, all the flames and magma in the Flame Floor were gathered in one place, and they were condensed into a bright sphere like a sun!

RUMBLE~! RUMBLE~! RUMBLE~!

The bright sun sphere actually began to suck everything around it!

Tang Li Xue, Lucia, Yaya, Little Loki, and Xiʼer were dragged forcefully toward the bright sun sphere!
