Reincarnated As a Fox With System

Chapter 963 Black Dragon Army!

The ghost soldier frowned in deep thought after he heard Tang Li Xueʼs words.

He immediately understood that Tang Li Xue wanted to get some benefits from them.

But the problem was that they were only a bunch of ghosts right now, so how could they have anything valuable to give to Tang Li Xue as a reward?!

”Please wait for a few minutes, Young ladies. Let me discuss it with my brothers first.” The ghost soldier muttered to Tang Li Xue before he gathered the other ghost soldiers and discussed together with them at the corner of the prayer room.

Xiʼer stepped closer to Tang Li Xue and asked softly: ”Sister Xue, these ghost soldiers clearly have nothing precious to pay us. Why donʼt we just think of a way to steal those stone puppet soldiers instead?”

Tang Li Xue shook her head to reject Xiʼerʼs idea and whispered back to her: ”Hehe, how could we ignore the gold and pick up those stones instead?!”

Xiʼer quickly realized Tang Li Xueʼs intention from her words.

”Ah, I see... Sister Xue, you actually want to...” Xiʼer exclaimed in surprise as her eyes shone brighter.

Tang Li Xue hastily interrupted Xiʼerʼs words halfway: ”Ssstt~! Letʼs wait and see what they decide later. But I hope they will not disappoint us.”

Tang Li Xue and Xiʼer did not wait for long.

After waiting for a few minutes or so, those ghost soldiers approached Tang Li Xue and Xiʼer again.

”We have decided. As long as you can help us release all of the soldiersʼ souls trapped in the Soul Trapping Formation, then we, the Black Dragon Army, will be under your command later.” The ghost soldier declared to Tang Li Xue in a solemn tone.

Tang Li Xueʼs eyes brightened in excitement after she heard the ghost soldierʼs promise.

ʼYes, this is it! This is what I have been aiming for from the very start!ʼ Tang Li Xue cheerfully thought in her mind.

Tang Li Xueʼs main objective in coming into this Yin Burial Ground was to form her own undead army using the corpses of fallen soldiers.

But if she could obtain the ghost army, then it would be much better!

The undead army made from the corpses of fallen soldiers did not have any intelligence. Since they could not think by themselves, Xiʼer or Tang Li Xue had to control them all the time instead.

Meanwhile, this ghost army still had complete memories of when they were still alive, which means they still remembered all of their knowledge, such as martial arts, spells, war strategy, and battle formations!

It was clear at a glance which one of them was better!

Just when Tang Li Xue wanted to agree to the ghost soldierʼs request...

Xiʼer suddenly exclaimed in surprise: ”Black Dragon Army, you said?! The most feared elite army of the Great Wei Dynasty, the Black Dragon Army?!”

The dozens of ghost soldiers puffed their chests proudly and replied: ”That is right! We are from THAT Black Dragon Army!”

Tang Li Xue asked Xiʼer in a puzzled tone: ”Is the Black Dragon Army really that great? Why havenʼt I heard of it in the Imperial Palace before?”

Xiʼer immediately explained clearly to Tang Li Xue: ”There are many armies in the Great Wei Dynasty such as Iron Blooded Army, Imperial Guard Army, Border Guard Army, and so on. But the Black Dragon Army could be said to be the Great Wei Dynastyʼs trump card.”

”The number of the Black Dragon Army is small, maybe only around a few tens of thousands, but their strength is terrifying.”

”The cultivation level of all soldiers in the Black Dragon Army is between the High-rank Core Formation Stage to the Great Perfection of Core Formation Stage.”

”The cultivation level of their captains should be at Nascent Soul Stage, and the cultivation level of their general is undoubtedly at Spirit Formation Stage.”

”Not only have all of them mastered advanced martial arts and spells, but they have also mastered various battle formations that cover offense, defense, and speed.”

”Since they are the Great Wei Dynastyʼs greatest trump card, then they will only receive direct orders from the Great Wei Dynastyʼs Emperor, but the Great Wei Dynastyʼs Emperor is currently almost... Well, you should have already know.” Xiʼer ended her explanation vaguely.

Tang Li Xue nodded her head in understanding.

The Great Wei Dynastyʼs Emperor was currently in a coma, and he was on the verge of dying, so the Black Dragon Armyʼs position was really awkward right now.

The main reason was because even though the Great Wei Dynastyʼs Emperor was in such a pitiful state, there were still Imperial Decrees issued from time to time to the Black Dragon Army.

As for who released those Imperial Decrees, Tang Li Xue guessed that it might be the Empress since she should be the only one who has access to the Imperial Seal.

The Black Dragon Army felt doubtful about the Imperial Decrees given to them and requested to meet His Majesty the Emperor directly, but their request were rejected in the end.

Rejecting Imperial Decrees was the same as rebelling, but no one dared to touch the Black Dragon Army as long as the Great Wei Dynastyʼs Emperor was still alive.

This was the reason why no one dared to mention anything about the Black Dragon Army in the Imperial Palace.

Anyway, that matter was not Tang Li Xueʼs business.

ʼWoah, does it mean I can get my own private ghost version of Black Dragon Army later?! That is so cool~!ʼ Tang Li Xue thought as she stared passionately at the ghost soldier.

The ghost soldier shuddered slightly when he sensed Tang Li Xueʼs passionate stare.

He hastily explained to Tang Li Xue again: ”Young Lady, I have to make it clear first. There are only around 1,000 soldiers from our Black Dragon Army. We will make sure that all of our 1,000 comrades follow your every order after you complete our request, but you have to promise that you will let millions of souls of our compatriots go later!”

Yes, there were millions of soldiersʼ souls trapped in the Soul Trapping Formations.

He was afraid that Tang Li Xue would catch and imprison all of them again later.

Tang Li Xue nodded her head and agreed without any hesitation: ”No problem.1,000 elite ghost soldiers are more than enough for me.”

Tang Li Xue only planned to steal a few hundred of the fallen soldiersʼ corpses before she came to the Yin Burial Ground.

If she could obtain 1,000 elite ghost soldiers from the Black Dragon Army, then that would exceed her expectations by many times.

Of course, these 1,000 elite ghost soldiers no longer had the cultivation level they had when they were alive, and they had to cultivate again from scratch.

That might be troublesome for others since ghost soldiers will need Death Energy to cultivate instead of Spiritual Energy, and Death Energy was only available at special places such as this burial ground or cemetery.

But that was not a problem at all for Tang Li Xue since she could just put all of those 1,000 elite ghost soldiers into her [Sword of Disaster].

Tang Li Xue began to discuss their plan to free all of the soldiersʼ souls trapped in the Soul Trapping Formation.

Tang Li Xue quickly realized that it was actually not as easy as her expected after she heard everything from the ghost soldiers.

First, there was only one exit from this secret underground maze, so once they sealed that exit and heavily guarded it, then Tang Li Xue and her team would be stuck here.

There were also several layers of advanced formations that covered this secret underground maze, so it would not be easy even if they tried to rely on Little Lokiʼs [Heavenʼs Devour] to dig out from here.

Second, the Soul Trapping Formation was heavily guarded by at least a dozen Core Formation Stage experts and one Nascent Soul Stage Master.

That might not sound like much, but the room where Soul Trapping Formation was located was at the center of this secret underground maze, so once the others realized something was not right, they could quickly come there in no time.

Third, these dozens of elite ghost soldiers from the Black Dragon Army were actually useless.

All of the ghost soldiers could not cultivate when they were trapped in the Soul Trapping Formation, so these dozens of elite ghost soldiers could only cultivate after they managed to somehow escape from there.

In short, their current strength was probably only at Qi Condensation Stage which was even weaker than Tang Li Xue in her current crippled state.

ʼDamn, I really hate this kind of mission impossible situation!ʼ Tang Li Xue frowned deeply in worry.

However, she immediately concluded that this situation was not as impossible as she imagined.

ʼThe key to success should be in my [Thousand Myriad Faces]. If I can find the person with high authority and replace him using [Thousand Myriad Faces], then our task would be so much easier.ʼ Tang Li Xue pinched her chin and thought carefully.

The time for those people to refine the soldiersʼ souls into 10,000 Soul Banners was still undetermined, but it should not take too long, maybe a few more days.

Tang Li Xue planned to make a complete map of this hidden underground maze and look for all important information first before taking any action.

”Oh, right... By the way, where is Little Loki? I have not seen it until now.” Xiʼer suddenly asked in a curious tone.

Tang Li Xue smiled and replied in a leisure tone: ”Donʼt worry. Little Loki is always with me all this time. Right, Little Loki?”

”Err, Little Loki?” Tang Li Xue called again.

Then Tang Li Xue finally realized that Little Loki was no longer sitting on the top of her head!
