Reincarnated As a Fox With System

Chapter 980 Germaphobe Water Guardian!

.....

Meanwhile, Tang Li Xue had reached the second floor after she climbed the stairs from the first floor.

ʼWow, this is surprisingly pretty exciting~! It feels like a certain saint who trespasses the sanctuary to save the goddess in the anime I have watched before.ʼ Tang Li Xue nervously thought after she stepped onto the second floor.

”Is this water?” Tang Li Xue muttered strangely when she saw the wall of water right in front of her.

At first, Tang Li Xue thought that there would be a large pool on this second floor since it was called Water Floor, but who knew that the entire second floor was actually covered in water instead.

The water was so clear and clean like a mirror.

Tang Li Xue covered herself with [Void Barrier] before she stepped forward and entered the water wall.

With [Void Barrier], Tang Li Xue was like standing inside the invisible sphere. The water could not enter the invisible sphere, and Tang Li Xue could also breathe inside it.

It did not take long for Tang Li Xue to see the Water Guardian, who was swimming freely inside the water.

The Water Guardian was actually a beautiful-looking goldfish.

This goldfish was the size of Tang Li Xueʼs thigh, and it looked really elegant with its long fins as if it were wearing a gold dress.

Even all of its scales were shiny and beautiful. Its entire being was like a masterpiece of art.

Tang Li Xue really wanted to touch it, but she held herself back for now and asked: ”So, you are the Water Guardian. All right, what should I do to get your acknowledgement?”

The Water Guardian spat out bubbles, and its bubbles formed words in the water.

”Oh? This task is not complicated, but... May I ask how many water pearls you have hidden?” Tang Li Xue raised her eyebrows as she tried to probe some information from the Water Guardian.

Unfortunately, the Water Guardian shook its body and spat out bubbles again.

Tang Li Xue thought for a moment before she decided to go all out and released everyone to look for every corner of this Water Floor, so they could find all the water pearls quickly.

Tang Li Xue released Yaya, Little Loki, and Lucia from her Systemʼs space.

She also called out Xiʼer and more than 1,000 ghost soldiers from the [Sword of Disaster].

The Water Guardian instantly looked agitated when so many beasts and ghosts suddenly appeared on her Water Floor.

Tang Li Xue did not notice Water Guardianʼs restlessness as she explained to everyone: ”Our task this time is to find all water pearls hidden in this floor in less than one hour. Our time is limited, so letʼs stop wasting our time and start working now~!”

Little Loki: ”Nyaaaw Meeoow~?! (Why do I have to work again?!)”

Yaya: ”Yaaya~! (Okay~!)”

Lucia: ”Kweek Keakk~! (I will do my best~!)”

When Tang Li Xue, Yaya, Lucia, Little Loki, Xiʼer, and more than 1,000 ghost soldiers planned to spread out and look for the water pearls, the surrounding water instantly became turbulent.

SWOOOSH~! SWOOOSH~! SWOOOSH~!

Tang Li Xue and her team stood unsteadily in confusion.

”What happened?” Tang Li Xue muttered in a puzzled tone before she stared suspiciously at the Water Guardian.

Only then did Tang Li Xue finally realize that something was not right with the Water Guardian.

The Water Guardianʼs golden colored body slowly changed color to azure!

The water temperature also dropped rapidly, which made Tang Li Xueʼs slender body shiver in the cold.

”Hey, what is wrong with you?! Do you feel unwell or something?” Tang Li Xue shouted worriedly to the Water Guardian.

”Dirty, dirty, dirty~! How dare you pollute my water! AAARRGGHH, this is too disgusting! So uncomfortable!” The Water Guardian grumbled in vexation.

”Eh, what? What do you mean?” Tang Li Xue had become more and more confused when she heard Water Guardianʼs rambling.

Before Tang Li Xue could think further about it, Xiʼer quickly reminded Tang Li Xue: ”This is really bad, Sister Xue. This coldness is not an ordinary phenomenon. It contains the Profound Law of Cold and Frost! Our ghost soldiers are still too weak after all, so they cannot hold out much longer!”

Tang Li Xue gritted her pearl-white teeth and instructed Xiʼer: ”Then quickly let them return to the [Sword of Disaster] for now!”

While Xiʼer instructed all the ghost soldiers to enter the [Sword of Disaster] again, Yaya, Lucia, and Little Loki already stood right in front of Tang Li Xue, facing the Water Guardian, who was still in a strange manic state.

”Yes, clean up... I have to clean up everything to make the water clear and fresh again!” Water Guardian said as its body emitted terrifying coldness.

RUMBLE~! RUMBLE~! RUMBLE~!

The water in the entire Water Floor was suddenly spinning violently, creating a water vortex!

”Oh, no...” Before Tang Li Xue could finish her words, she got sucked into the spinning water vortex!

Tang Li Xue and her team were all in the water, so they were also affected by the water vortex, and they got tossed around violently like ice cubes in a cup of stirred water.

Tang Li Xue felt very cold, dizzy, and uncomfortable. She felt like she could pass out at any moment, but she decided to bite the tip of her tongue to stay awake.

”Sister Xue! Everyone!” Xiʼer yelled as she unleashed her black fog-like Death Energy to cover herself, Tang Li Xue, Yaya, Lucia, and Little Loki.

After Xiʼerʼs black fog-like Death Energy formed a barrier to protect all of them from the spinning water vortex, Tang Li Xue and her team finally no longer affected by it.

”Now, what to do, Sister Xue? Should we teach that fish a lesson and beat it up?” Xiʼer asked Tang Li Xue in a cold and resentful tone.

Yaya, Lucia, and Little Loki were also itching to beat up the Water Guardian.

It made sense for everyone to be so angry since the Water Guardian suddenly launched a powerful sneak attack at them without any clear reason.

Tang Li Xue frowned deeply and thought for a few moments before she muttered: ”Wait a minute, I think that Water Guardian is in a strange state. I am afraid it would not be that easy for us to beat it in its current strange state.”

”Oh, and we also must complete the task to find all the water pearls. I do not want that Water Guardian to say something like all of these are part of the test later and made us fail the task, so it seems we have to split up.”

”Little Loki, Lucia, and Yayaʼs task would be to find all the water pearls as quickly as possible, while Xiʼer and I will try to stop the Water Guardian.” Tang Li Xue divided their tasks in a solemn tone.

Little Loki, Lucia, Yaya, and Xiʼer did not object to Tang Li Xueʼs instruction as they nodded their head simultaneously.

Lucia used her [Golden Light Spell] to cover her entire body, and [Gigantification] to enlarge her body.

Little Loki and Yayaʼs bodies were too small and light, so they could only hold on tightly to Luciaʼs giant body.

Of course, it did not mean Little Loki and Yaya remained idle. Little Lokiʼs treasure-finding ability could easily find the location of the hidden water pearls, while Yayaʼs [Wind Godʼs Eyes] could see the water pearls that were moving around swiftly under the effect of the spinning water vortex.

With their perfect teamwork, it might not take that long for them to find and gather all of the water pearls.

Meanwhile, Tang Li Xue swam closer to the Water Guardian under Xiʼerʼs black barrier protection.

Despite that, the unbearable bone-piercing coldness that Tang Li Xue felt grew stronger and stronger as she got closer to the Water Guardian.

Right at this moment, Tang Li Xue immediately realized it as she exclaimed: ”I get it~! So, this Water Guardian is actually a Germaphobe!”

”Ger... Gerpho... What? Is that the name of a curse?” Xiʼer asked curiously.

”Germaphobe is not a curse. It is... Err, some kind of disease.” Tang Li Xue tried to explain to Xiʼer, but she also did not understand it that well.

Tang Li Xue only knew that germaphobes had an extreme fear of dirtiness and were obsessed with cleanliness.

Tang Li Xue did not know whether she had to laugh or cry after she realized this fact.

Such a powerful guardian spirit, or to be exact, a goldfish, could actually suffer from Mysophobia!

It would be so funny if that Water Guardian did not suddenly attack her and her team just because they dirtied its clean water a little bit.

Then Tang Li Xue got stumped again as she thought: ʼSo, what do we have to do now? Should we clean the water first before the Water Guardian can calm down? What a headache!ʼ

”Sister Xue, I cannot hold it on anymore!” Xiʼer quickly reminded Tang Li Xue.

Tang Li Xue looked around and saw that Xiʼerʼs black barrier was already covered in a thick layer of frost.

No wonder the surrounding temperature was so cold that Tang Li Xueʼs slender body was almost frozen stiff.

Tang Li Xue hastily took out a stack of advanced body protection talismans from her space pouch and stuck them onto her body.

Those advanced body protection talismans were what she got from the previous battle at the Capital City and Chief Head Chiʼs spatial ring.
