Reincarnated As a Fox With System

Chapter 964 Little Lokiʼs Adventure!

Tang Li Xue looked around in panic, but she still failed to find Little Loki.

Then she hastily asked the ghost soldier: ”Is there any Spirit Transformation Realm Grandmaster guarding this secret underground area?”

The ghost soldier immediately shook his head and replied: ”Impossible! Each Spirit Transformation Realm Grandmaster is very precious, so all of them should hold extremely high positions in the government. How could they possibly be placed in a gloomy place like here, where they have to deal with corpses and ghosts all day?”

”In fact, even all the Nascent Soul Stage Masters here actually did not want to work here. They were forced to work here because they got punished for a certain reason, such as embezzling money for disaster relief, killing other people who worked in the government, and so on.” The ghost soldier explained to Tang Li Xue.

Tang Li Xue thought that what the ghost soldier had said made sense.

ʼNascent Soul Stage Masters should not be a threat to Little Loki. Little Loki might not be able to defeat them, but it should be easy for Little Loki to escape from them with its [Phantom Splitters] and [Instant Teleportation].ʼ Tang Li Xue concluded in her mind.

After calming down and sighing in relief, Tang Li Xue asked the ghost soldier to lead her and Xiʼer to wander around the secret underground area so they would become more familiar with the layout of the secret underground area.

.....

A team of guards patrolled around the secret underground area as usual, but tonight, they actually met with an unusual thing.

In the dim corridor, the light from the torches was flickering from time to time.

Someone from the guard team spotted a four-legged shadow reflected on the wall.

”Who is there?!” He suddenly yelled in fright.

One of his comrades asked curiously: ”What is wrong? Do you see something just now?”

”Yes, I just saw a shadow moving on the wall.” The guard replied honestly in a trembling tone.

His comrade rolled his eyes disdainfully at how timid the guard was, then he smiled mischievously and decided to give him a scare: ”I heard there is actually a monster living in this underground space. If that monster meets with someone like you, then it would swallow you whole... Be careful, behind you! RAAAAWWRR~!”

”AAAHH~!” The timid guard jumped and screamed in fright.

”Pffft~! Bwahahaha~! Old Zhu, your bad habit has not changed. You always like to scare the newcomers. Look, he almost piss on his pants because of you.” The other guards spoke in a teasing tone while laughing at the timid guard.

The timid guard sighed in relief when he realized that his comrade was just trying to scare him.

But then he actually saw a little black kitten that suddenly appeared right behind the other guards.

”Look, what is there behind you?!” The timid guard yelled to the other guards.

”Oh? So, you are trying to scare us now? You have guts, youngster! Hahaha~!” The other guards laughed at the timid guard again.

The tiny black kitten stared back at the timid guard from behind the back of all guards.

At first, the timid guard did not think much of the tiny black kitten since it looked quite cute, but then... the tiny black kitten stretched its lips, revealing a row of sharp teeth.

The black kittenʼs terrifying evil grin had scared the timid guard so much!

ʼMo... Mons...ʼ The timid guard wanted to scream out loud, but he found out that he could no longer talk or move.

Even the other guards also could not move even a bit.

Their expressions quickly turned pale like a piece of white paper.

The little black kitten had already opened its tiny mouth widely, and one of the guards got sucked into its mouth without leaving anything behind as if there was a tiny blackhole opened inside its mouth.

The other guards stared at the Old Zhu in fear and horror as if they were asking: ʼI thought your story was only a lie to scare the newcomers?! So, it is true?!”

Old Zhu really wanted to cry right now. He only made up that story to scare others, but who knew that it actually became true!

The little black kitten swallowed another one and licked its lips, but its expression showed that it was still far from being satisfied.

ʼDamn you, Old Zhu~!!! This is all your fault! This monster appeared because of you!ʼ The other guards angrily blamed Old Zhu in their hearts.

The little black kitten proceeded to swallow the guards one by one like eating snacks.

It effortlessly gobbled up the seven guards without leaving anything behind.

Yes, who else was this little black kitten if it was not little Loki?!

Little Loki licked its lips in satisfaction and looked around with an innocent expression, as if it still did not feel full and wanted to eat more snacks.

Little Loki had long felt suffocated when Tang Li Xue was trapped in the Imperial Palace.

But Little Loki also knew that they were helpless in the Imperial Palace, so it must restrain itself when it was there in order not to bring danger and trouble to Tang Li Xue, but it no longer needed to restrain itself anymore here!

If it kept obediently following Tang Li Xue around, it would not have time to eat. That was the reason why Little Loki decided to sneak away from Tang Li Xue instead.

Not to mention Little Lokiʼs sharp sense of smell for precious treasures had detected many delicious things in this hidden underground space.

So, of course, it had to go treasure hunting to fill its stomach like what it had done in the Lightwind Continent or at the Foxes Hunting Festival.

Even though Tang Li Xue could already feed it with spirit treasures she got from the battle in the Capital City, but Little Loki still preferred to look for food by itself.

Little Loki found it was much more exciting that way.

After all, it was one of the most feared Four Evil Fiend Beasts, Tao Tie, so it was not strange that it preferred to hunt its own food like a wild beast rather than being fed by Tang Li Xue all the time like Lucia or Yaya.

Little Loki closed its eyes and sniffed, then it trotted away toward the southern area of the hidden underground space.

Little Loki would avoid the crowded place and take a detour, but if it found a group of patrolling guards, it would satisfy its desire and eat them like snacks instead.

It did not take long for Little Loki to reach its destination.

The kitchen and food storage room!

There was also a canteen beside the kitchen and the food storage room.

The canteen was crowded with people having dinner.

Fortunately, Little Loki was wearing [Void Lurking Boots].

With the [Void Lurking] ability from [Void Lurking Boots], Little Loki could wander around freely without being noticed or detected by anyone, even in a crowded place such as this canteen.

Little Loki sneaked into the kitchen and saw several chefs busily cooking delicious food.

Char Siu Fried Rice, Mapo Tofu, Crispy Roasted Duck, Sweet and Sour Pork, Wonton Soup, and many more...

Moreover, all of them were made from the meat of at least Beast Lord level beasts, so the taste should be much more delicious than using ordinary beasts.

Little Loki swallowed its saliva, but its droll was still dripping down from its mouth.

Even though Little Loki was not a picky eater, but how could it resist such delicious and fragrant delicacies that were served right in front of its eyes?!

This time, Little Loki decided not to use its [Heavenʼs Devour] and ate the delicious food with one bite after another in order to enjoy it to the fullest.

Of course, it did not mean its eating speed was slow. Even though Little Lokiʼs body was tiny, but its appetite was a bottomless pit, so its eating speed was very fast.

All the food on the serving table was decreasing rapidly, with the speed visible to the naked eye.

In only a few minutes or so, all the food on the serving table was eaten cleanly by Little Loki.

All the chefs were still too busy cooking another batch of delicious food, so they did not notice it at all.

They thought the food was already taken cleanly by the people who was eating their dinner on the canteen since the serving table was connected to the canteen, and the people in the canteen can take the food on the serving table from the canteen.

Meanwhile, the people in the canteen thought the chefs had not finished cooking their food yet, so they kept waiting on their table in the canteen instead.

Every time the chefs put the delicious foods onto the serving table, Little Loki would eat all of the delicious foods cleanly without being noticed again and again.

After an hour or so, the people in the canteen finally lost their patience and asked angrily: ”Hey, where is our food?! We have already been waiting for more than one hour!”

All the chefs were confused when they heard those peopleʼs complaints.

”What are you talking about? We have already served all of your food!” One of the chefs replied angrily.

When Little Loki saw that those stupid humans had begun arguing angrily with each other, it knew that it could no longer eat delicious foods here.

Little Loki jumped down from the serving table and trotted away from the kitchen.

Its next destination was the food storage room located next to the kitchen, but the door to enter the food storage room was locked.

Little Loki activated its [Heavenʼs Devour] and made a small hole in the locked door, then it easily sneaked into the food storage room.
