Beneath the Red Dragon

“Dorabi City controls all the Magic Spring Nodes in the Dorabi Mountain Range, but if those Ascending Mage Towers are as powerful as the legends say, we might not be able to hold this defensive line,”

said Legendary Mage Reito with a heavy tone.

As a Legendary Level Great Mage, Reito knows all too well the power of a Mage Tower.

Given his own Floating Mage Tower, he would dare to bravely face the True Dragon Emperor of the Golden Empire alone, even if this True Dragon Emperor had faced divine punishment from the Dragon God before.

“We can’t just retreat without a fight,” Duke Marino’s face instantly darkened. These people could flee, but his territory was right behind him, making it impossible to retreat without a fight.

Such an act would not only cause the Marino Duchy to collapse instantly, but even he, a great noble, might die at the hands of other nobility.

“Even if the Golden Empire has acquired the knowledge to build Floating Mage Towers, how much of its essence can they master in just over ten years?”

Duke Marino said, “Moreover, if we hold off the first wave of fierce attacks, the United Knight Order, led by the Rose Heavy Knight Order, will flank these monster legions, causing chaos in their rear lines. By then, we might have a breakthrough, and reinforcements from the Southern Alliance are already on the way!”

“I hope so,” Reito sighed, looking into the distance, feeling it might be time to take the Spell Scroll for Space Jump out of his Magic Storage Ring, just to avoid being caught off guard later.

And on the faraway plains, legions stood in formation, their armors and forest-like weapons glinting coldly.

Dragons quietly awaited behind the scaled Dragon King, only the scraping of their huge claws on the ground and the sound of heavy breathing indicated the dragons’ restlessness.

The Golden Empire’s White King’s Twins, Green Dragon Antajena, and Red Dragon Kleyna waited solemnly under the massive Royal Banner.

Ancestral Golden Dragon Oblash, Silver Dragon Fluo, and Golden Dragon Naloya also raised their heads high among the dragon ranks, commanding Metal Dragons and Gem Dragons subdued by the Golden Empire.

But even these massive dragons could not clear the legions of the Golden Empire, as the Imperial Legion Warriors were too numerous and too massive.

Compared to the elite forefront legions of the Golden Empire, the giants in the Frost Giant Corps and the Multi-armed Giant Corps on the sides of the Imperial Legion appeared somewhat scrawny.

The Centaur Death Knights in heavy armor, led by Legion Commander Chiron, stood on their flank, their armors and weapons envied by the giants.

The ‘Burning Hooves’ Legion, commanded by Dragon Descendant Werewolf Saha, made even the giants feel awed and incredulous.

The warriors of ‘Burning Hooves,’ even when armored, stood at a minimum height of three and a half meters, and for those in the legion handling civil duties, the entry requirement was to knock down a ferocious bear barehanded without harm to themselves or the bear, showcasing the strength of this small independent battle legion.

Then there were the most dazzling Imperial Guard and Storm Thunder Guard, who had an invincible attitude engraved on their foreheads.

Even what appeared to be the most ordinary human-organized legions and Beastman Legions, the First and Second Legions, exhibited an unparalleled arrogance, not considering the towering Marino Defense Line as anything of concern.

The Golem Legion was made of steel constructs that even the giants dared not challenge.

But nothing drew everyone’s attention more than those figures beneath the blazing Royal Banner.

Affairs of state, in ceremonies and warfare!

Karon Gogomola stood on a high platform, facing the gaze of all legion warriors alongside Multi-armed Giant Mogyes, King of Frost Giants Ragna Heg, and Legendary Sun Elf Serilus.

He surveyed these warriors, and his deep voice began to echo.

“The right to peace and survival is never a god’s gift, nor decided by the nobility; from now on, it will be determined by the Golden Empire and the Alliance of Kings, national prestige and military might will be decided in this battle!”

Karon raised a wooden bowl filled with substandard liquor, his deep voice erupted in laughter, “Our fury will burn away all enemies who stand in our way, victory shall be ours!”

The clanging of steel resounded, and all the legion warriors raised their shallow bowls of substandard liquor and drank it in one go, the poor-quality liquor igniting the blood of these warriors.

Karon also drained his bowl and then smashed it on the ground, turning to face the undulating Giant Beast Ridge, stretching out a claw to point into the distance.

“The whole army is ordered, as per the plan, one battle to establish the order!”

Roaring pledges resonated throughout, stirring the clouds.

“Not writing the hero’s record, then painting the Heroic Spirit Pillar!”

“In the name of Divine Gogomola and the Golden Empire, the army advances!”

The giants were also roused by the Golden Empire’s legion, lifting their weapons and roaring.

The order from the Emperor of the Golden Empire was given, and the battle began.

A vast shadow rose from the earth, consisting of scorpion lions and Flying Dragons from the Divine Forsaken Mountain Range.

Then, huge Demon Dragons of the Golden Empire took to the sky from among the Golem Legion, carrying exceptionally large golems under their claws, so heavy that the several-meter-long Demon Dragons had to beat their wings vigorously to take off.

The army began to march, legion after legion moving past the towering Royal Banner toward the defensive line on the command of the legion commanders.

The Frost Giant Army and Multi-armed Giant Army spread out to the sides, advancing on the sloped terrain.

Meanwhile, the ‘Burning Hooves’ Legion and the Emperor’s Guard Army waited quietly.

They lifted their heads, watching the Floating Mage Towers emerging from the clouds, flying slowly over Dorabi City.

Squadrons of Griffin Knights and Giant Eagle Guard flew up from above Dorabi City, attempting to intercept and block the Floating Mage Towers on their soaring journey.

But the Dragon Kings of the Empire roared and unfolded their massive wings, soaring into the sky. Under Batorri’s command, flights of Flying Dragon Riders took off, escorting the Empire’s dragons.

The most elite warriors of the Golden Empire knew that those charging into the defensive line, with flesh and blood, were distracting enemy fire, providing them the chance to seize and tear the high points of the defense.

Their mission was to take out all enemies at the high points as quickly as possible!

Thus, they waited quietly, forcibly suppressing their thirst for blood.

Until Dragon Descendant Werewolf Saha stepped forward, this dragon-blood Werewolf roared, “The enemy thinks that hiding behind those thick defensive works and masses of soldiers means they won’t feel the Emperor’s wrath. It shows they disrespect us and have not considered us.”

“No one can stop our fury!”

“Great Emperor Gogomola, may you be calm. We’ll drop in two watches, heretical enemies will surely die!”

All the Guardians and Storm Thunder Warriors roared at this moment too, “Great Emperor Gogomola, may you be calm. We’ll drop in two watches, heretical enemies will surely die!”

Multi-armed Giant Mogyes listened to the warriors’ roars, turning to the still dragon descendant form of Karon Gogomola, “You probably can’t take action now, can you?”

“Theoretically, it’s indeed inconvenient for me to take action now,” Karon nodded slightly in response.

Of course, theory is theory. If it were necessary for Karon Gogomola to act, he wasn’t incapable of defying theory.

However, it seemed the Multi-armed Giant Mogyes didn’t grasp this nuance, so he turned his head to King of Frost Giants Ragna Heg and Sun Elf Serilus.

He said, “I can take down those Legends, but I’ll need your cover; otherwise, I might suffer severe damage under the defensive fire.”

“Those guys’ Alchemy weapons seem pretty powerful!”

“I can go all out once,” Sun Elf Serilus said.

He touched the giant bow on his back, squinting at the distant Legendary Caster, “Although my strength and life will decline after using this grand weapon not originally mine, as a price, that Legendary Level Caster, unless he has a life-saving treasure, is doomed.”

The Frost Giant also nodded, lifting his war axe, “Then what are we waiting for, let’s go up!”
