Beneath the Red Dragon

Chapter 853: Chapter 148: An Immortal Legacy Through Casual Conversation (Part 2)

There is nothing wrong with this, even in the eyes of the citizens of the Empire, it is perfectly natural.

Even in any world, this is the right path, because unless ruled by law rather than man, there will always be a framework called the ‘ruling class’ looming over all beings.

But the interests of the Dragon Group must be ensured, so it cannot tolerate others using the name of the Dragon Group to exploit the Empire’s citizens.

The purpose of this class-breaking experiment is to strive for the equalization of the vast majority of the Empire’s citizens.

This does not mean the equalization of wealth, which is a pipe dream that cannot be realized as long as humanity exists.

This equalization manifests in three aspects – the Empire’s healthcare education, industry employment, and basic education.

During the Empire’s pioneering development, every Empire citizen can find their survival industry, which is a rare virtue in the Icaria World.

Even the two dominant Empires of the Central Continent still have numerous wanderers and beggars within their realms, whereas within the Golden Empire, as long as you have hands, you won’t go hungry.

Moreover, the Empire’s women, embodying the Golden Empire’s characteristics, are valiant and resilient, measured by ability, flourishing in many detailed and complex jobs.

In such a social atmosphere, everyone relies on their own efforts, on ability, genuinely bringing each race member’s personal status toward equality.

In terms of education, at the founding of the Golden Empire, the enrollment rate of children in the Giant Dragon Basic Academy was only about twenty percent.

But now, in the fifteenth year of the Giant Dragon Calendar, this figure has reached a staggering eighty-nine percent.

This data far surpasses any kingdom civilization force in the Icaria World.

As for healthcare, the comprehensive development and expansion of the physician training system, which initially covered only a few of the Empire’s major cities at its founding.

But now, although physicians remain in short supply, they have nearly covered all Imperial cities, gradually spreading to the next tier of city provinces.

Considering these three aspects together, the Golden Empire’s class-breaking and equalization social experiment can be said to be truly successful.

However, the Golden Empire’s break from traditional class structures in remote agricultural villages has also made grassroots management much more challenging.

Because traditional villages, regardless of region, resemble village-family societies.

Even within those noble territories, village governance relies on the local prestigious families, implementing a system analogous to shepherding with dogs.

In the era when educational knowledge was monopolized, the operation of traditional village class culture was controlled by families with local influence.

Many villages only require a reserve knight to lead the entire family in ruling the local villagers.

Such governance also makes it impossible for the nobility to mobilize to the same extent as the Golden Empire.

The Empire replaces these family members with grassroots officials, causing this traditional class culture system to collapse and fracture.

And it is precisely this point the nobility secretly uses to influence the Empire, attempting to destabilize its foundation.

The implementation of many Imperial policies requires ideological leaders like family heads in grassroots villages. Grassroots officials cannot guide but only manage; if the nobles cause distrust between the two parties, they cannot fulfill the ideological leadership duties.

Trust between the Empire and local villages is not a problem troubling the Empire’s senior advisors, because although village chiefs are similarly constrained, they remain connected to the original inhabitants.

Moreover, thanks to the Empire’s multiracial coexistence norm, grassroots officials are relied upon more for mediation and adjudication roles, thereby occupying greater weight and being less susceptible to influence.

The credibility and behaviors of the Dragons also make the government receive support and trust from its citizens.

This is just some reflections obtained by the Ancestral Golden Dragon Oblash during this period.

Oblash’s previous thoughts might have deemed these reflections useless, but for the current Golden Dragon, he is sufficiently aware of the directions Karon Gogomola intended to create for the nation’s civilization.

He also glimpsed a fraction of the future brilliance of Dragon Civilization.

Though thoughts differ and cannot converge, they can resonate to a certain extent.

The Ancestral Golden Dragon Oblash yearns for the future glory of the Dragon Nation, and steps forward, finally stopping before the gates of the Imperial Court of Justice.

The previous Ancestral Golden Dragon did not perceive the beauty of the Empire, indulged in another emotion.

But now Oblash discovers the Empire’s own civilization and culture embodied in those buildings.

The races from the Northern Frost Plains, King of Frost Giants, Ragna Heg, reflecting the characteristics of the northern frigid races.

The coldest snow, the poorest regions, the hottest blood, desolate yet grand in an unyielding sense, forlorn and stubborn.

Whereas those southern civilizations in warm regions appear in Oblash’s eyes as possessing compromising softness and complex, turbulent plots, like the family crests of those great nobles, intricately entwined.

The kingdom created by the Gogomola Dragon Group lies between the frigid north and extremely warm south, seemingly bearing traits of both, blending with Dragon aesthetics.
