Beneath the Red Dragon

Chapter 858: Chapter 149: Apex

Over the boundless ocean, on the Northern Sea Island.

The tides crashed against the rocky shores of the island, the sound of tumultuous waves echoed one after another, sounding like the vastness of life’s void.

The weather over the sea is ever-changing, as unpredictable as a woman’s mood.

The Brass Dragon Holister stood at the bow of the ship, gazing at the world divided like yin and yang before him, one half enveloped in storms while the island is bathed in warm sunlight.

The Brass Dragon Holister could even sense that around the lone island in the sea, the roaring sea winds had also come to a halt.

This was not a naturally divided climate, but the will of a king, forcing the clouds and rain to yield.

On the sea, the outlines of mountains blurred, allowing visibility of all changes in the surrounding environment.

Even in the shadow of the encircling mountains, one could see the incredible scene unfolding in the sky.

Not only humans, even the Brass Dragon Holister, a dragon who has lived for centuries in the Icaria World, was stunned by the sight.

In the clear part of the sky, giant dragons of various scale colors and forms soared.

These were massive shadows hidden in the clouds dispersing the storm, banishing rain, confining the chaotic sea winds.

Holister could not help but recall when he last visited the Golden Empire, when the Gogomola Dragon Group was already rising to fame with prosperous potential, but the number of dragons was still very few.

Not to mention the metallic dragons and gemstone dragons in the Southern Good Dragon Alliance, even the Blue Dragon Clan in the deserts of the Central Continent far outnumbered the Gogomola Dragon Group in members.

But how many giant dragons does the current Golden Empire possess?

The Brass Dragon Holister did not know, for he could not count the soaring dragons in the sky at this time.

He looked up, like those aboard the densely packed sailing ships as far as the eye could see, showing a look of awe.

The massive dance of giant dragons was a rare sight, the sheer number of dragons was even rarer.

Their scales of various colors sparkled in the sunlight, with five-color dragons being the most numerous, their red, blue, green, black, and white scales intermingling.

The scenes of metallic dragons were not rare either, including some extraordinarily rare dragon species in the Icaria World, such as Gray Dragons, Purple Crystal Dragons, and Song Dragons.

In the eyes of those drawn by this unprecedented magical gathering, perhaps the scene before them was merely a grand feast for the Dragon Race.

“Oh my god, so many giant dragons appearing at once is simply unbelievable!”

“I even saw Golden Dragons and Silver Dragons among them. Could it be that even the most noble of giant dragons have joined the Golden Empire?”

“Look, look, there are many young dragons frolicking above the island; could they be the offspring of the Giant Dragon Lords of the Gogomola Dragon Group?”

The conversations of ordinary crew members could be heard from some ships, eagerly debating and discussing the races and abilities of the dragons in the sky.

Many adventurers and travelers, drawn by fame to witness this gathering, even recorded the scene with magic crystals as a rare memento.

Numerous painters, both human and elf, spread their canvases on ships, beginning to capture the spectacular scene before them.

But in the heart of the Brass Dragon Holister, there was first envy for the brilliant light refracted by those dazzling scales in the sky, followed by an uncontainable fear.

For so many giant dragons soaring across the sky, penetrating the clouds to create massive holes, yet not a single dragon roar could be heard.

Only the huge dragons traversed the winds, the fierce winds cutting through dragon wings and scales, producing a clanging sound.

That was not the power of magic; it was the power called order, making even such arrogant creatures as dragons maintain silence like soldiers in mortal legions.

Holister scanned the densely packed sailing ships surrounding him and his ship, seeing the same incomprehensible fear reflected in the eyes of those standing on the ship bows.

“Perhaps this is the same look that was in my eyes just now,” the Brass Dragon Holister thought silently.

On these ships, flags of various colors fluttered in the sea wind, even Holister, an ancient dragon, could recognize only a tenth of these countless banners.

But the emblems remembered by this seasoned Brass Dragon were all forces that could be considered to dominate a region.

Not only was the entire Northern Continent stirred up by this gathering, secretly sending trade caravans to spy among the onlookers, but even those dwarves, more reclusive than elves and fond of mining rare minerals in mountain caves, sent a flagship here.

The Brass Dragon Holister even saw numerous outsiders from the Plane Trade Alliance, merchants from neighboring worlds of the Icaria World, drawn here with keen interest shown on their faces.

A rumble erupted from the horizon, in the boisterous storm a massive shadow cast over the sea surface, occupying a corner of the distant firmament.

The countless faces aboard the ships turned to look, seeing the terrifying creature at the edge of the sky, fell into a daze.
