I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 484: Chapter 278: When the Sun Descends_2

It has inherited the body of a true dragon but has not received the more precious spell, talent, and dragon race heritage.

”What growth stage is it in?” Aaliyah asked a critical question.

It is well known that the strength of a true dragon is closely related to its age, and they enhance their abilities with changes in growth stage.

At the very start, it is naturally in the dragon egg form, usually located beside the Dragon Mother, with a threat level near zero, but ordinary people can hardly come into contact with them.

Next is the hatchling stage, emerging from the dragon egg. Upon birth, the hatchling has at least a challenge level of 2.

The size is equivalent to that of a horse, and the challenge level of hatchlings typically ranges from 2-5.

After developing for a few years to ten years, it enters the young dragon stage, commonly known as the juvenile dragon, when the body of the giant dragon begins a rapid development phase.

Some strong young dragons can reach the size comparable to adult elephants, with their strength steadily increasing.

Generally possessing a challenge level of 6-10.

This means, as long as a true dragon developing normally stays beside the Dragon Mother and survives the weakest hatchling stage, it can naturally step into the Commander Level demon stage.

Just hearing this can make one feel how terrifying this race is.

Later comes the youth dragon stage, with a challenge level between 11-16, at which the giant dragon’s body is fully mature, each considered a regional overlord, incredibly wise, mastering many magic spells, possessing various magical and physical resistances, and beginning to gather many followers to develop their formidable dragon nest forces.

After youth dragons, there are adult dragons and ancient dragons, whose power at that level is akin to gods for ordinary people and mid-low-level adventurers.

”It should be in the young dragon stage.” Gauss described the dragon beast’s size to his companions briefly.

The dragon beast’s size had obviously moved beyond the hatchling stage but in the juvenile dragon realm, it’s not particularly prominent as it hasn’t reached the size comparable to an adult elephant.

”That means it’s at least a Level 6 demon but hasn’t reached higher levels like Level 9 or Level 10.” Aaliyah nodded.

”Moreover, it’s a dragon beast.” Serdur added.

Everyone understood the implication in his words.

Under the same size circumstances, a dragon beast is certainly weaker than a true dragon.

”But, if I remember correctly, shouldn’t the Red Dragon be the strongest among the Five-Colored Evil Dragons?” Albena also raised her hand to add.

Yes, among the color dragons, there is a distinction in strength between the five kinds of color dragons.

The Red Dragon is recognized as the strongest, the White Dragon is the acknowledged weakest.

As for the middle three, the Blue Dragon might have a certain advantage, and the Green Dragon and Black Dragon are comparable.

The dragon beast, with a not too large size, made everyone slightly lower their judgment of its strength, but the Red Dragon’s Blood slightly compensated for some of its power.

”What do you think?”

Gauss looked at them.

Even though they’ve accepted the commission this time, Gauss had already confessed with the guild leader of Gold and Silver Town beforehand that they will act according to the situation, and if it’s beyond their capabilities, they might cease the commission.

Thus, there’s no situation of pushing through regardless of knowing they’re defeated.

It’s just that...

A dragon, even if it’s a dragon beast, is a precious treasure.

Aaliyah swallowed.

She didn’t speak, but Gauss could already see the intent on her face.

No adventurer could remain utterly unmoved by the prospect of acquiring a dragon similar to a hatchling/juvenile dragon.

Ying shrugged.

”I’m fine with anything.”

Serdur said nothing, his gaze fixed on Gauss’s face, listening for his final decision at this crucial moment.

Because based on the current information, both continuing exploration and ceasing the commission can be backed by numerous reasons, making it merely a choice without right or wrong.

”Lord Gauss, perhaps we can give it a shot.”

Instead, Albena was the first to express her opinion.

Gauss raised his eyebrows.

He thought Albena would choose to remain silent for a moment, listening to their opinions first.

”If it’s as Lord Gauss described in size, that dragon beast might not be that terrifying.” Albena showed only excitement when faced with an enemy, no fear.

”A dragon beast, even a Red Dragon beast, after all, is not a true dragon; besides that strong body, it only has some flame breath.”

”I’m confident I can withstand it,” Albena smiled and said.

Gauss examined her for a while, noticing her authentic confidence, quite substantial.

It seems to somewhat confirm Gauss’s previous assumptions about her strength.

She is not merely a Level 6 Professional.

An ordinary Level 6 Professional facing such a precarious dragon beast commission certainly couldn’t be so unreserved.

Moreover, Gauss’s mind actually leans more towards continuing exploration.

Though currently Level 4, his attributes exceed those of the same level, possessing numerous talent bonuses, and having mastered 3rd-level Spell in advance, his strength has reached a master-level adventurer.

And when necessary, he also has a trump card.

That is to activate [Firm Scale Bloodline] while simultaneously initiating [Ghost Form].
