Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 539: Chapter 537: Dumbledore’s Request

Kael indeed had a small bottle of ashes left after the Phoenix Nirvana, which was given to him by Fawkes when he was in his third year.

It’s just that those belong to the most advanced materials, and before accumulating enough experience, he certainly won’t use them, so that bottle of ashes has always been placed at the bottom of the box.

”May I ask why?” Kael was a bit curious, then added, ”Of course, if it’s confidential, forget I asked.”

”Oh, it’s understandable. After all, they all belong to you.”

Nicolas glanced at Dumbledore, and after getting a sure answer, he continued, ”Do you remember the Time Turner in the Chamber of Secrets?”

”Of course.” Kael nodded.

It was because of that Time Turner that he met the four founders of Hogwarts, so he wouldn’t forget.

”That’s right, I’ve fixed it.” Nicolas said calmly, speaking shocking words like a thunderclap.

”The Time Turner is fixed?” Kael instinctively looked at Dumbledore.

He’d never seen this version of Dumbledore before; the once wise blue eyes were now filled with undisguisable anticipation and fear.

”Originally, it shouldn’t have been so fast, but I got some crucial help... and it’s all thanks to you, Kael.”

Nicolas blinked and said, ”But we’re still missing the last and most important component, the core that provides Magic Power to the Time Turner.

The huge amount of magic required to go back a hundred years is unmeasurable, and no existing Magic Text Talisman can solve this problem.”

”Not even a Stacking Talisman?” Kael instinctively asked.

”No.” Nicolas shook his head, ”Stacking a sufficient number of Magic Enhancement Talismans can indeed meet the start-up requirements, but the subsequent magic supply can’t keep up.

”In this way, the Time Turner will probably...no, it will definitely break again, trapping the user inside forever, maybe in the fiftieth year, maybe in the seventieth year, unable to reach the predetermined time, and unable to return.”

Kael nodded, knowing that the user Nicolas mentioned was Dumbledore, and the hundred-year review was also prepared for him.

If only being trapped in the past, Dumbledore might not even care, but unable to reach the predetermined time...

Wait a minute.

Kael suddenly thought, if Dumbledore were thrown back sixty years, what would happen... and would Grindelwald recognize him at that time...

Thinking this, Kael couldn’t help but twitch his mouth but quickly restrained himself.

At this time, Nicolas didn’t notice Kael’s strange behavior and continued, ”So I thought of another method: the Philosopher’s Stone!

”Only the Philosopher’s Stone can provide endless massive Magic Power to the Time Turner.”

”But wasn’t the Philosopher’s Stone destroyed?” Kael asked, coming back to his senses.

”That’s right.” Nicolas smiled, ”But have you ever wondered, why couldn’t I make it again from six hundred years ago?

”To be honest, the process of making the Philosopher’s Stone isn’t difficult for me, but the materials needed are hard to find, and the ashes left after the Phoenix Nirvana are the most important part of the Philosopher’s Stone.”

Kael understood, in simple terms, once these ashes are lent out, they will never return.

Of course, if in the end, a Philosopher’s Stone could be exchanged, he wouldn’t hesitate, but the problem is, can he really get the Philosopher’s Stone?

From previous experiences, when he returned to the correct time in the Chamber of Secrets, the Time Turner was broken without a trace, and the only shell shattered into pieces.

Although last time was a thousand years, this time it’s only a hundred years, yet what if.... After all, no one knows if this thing is a disposable product.

Alright, this time not only is the Diadem not obtained, but he also has to give away another good thing?

But Kael couldn’t understand one thing, Nicolas lived for over six hundred years, with so many good collections, wasn’t there any Nirvana Ashes? It shouldn’t be.

Kael thought so and asked.

”There was before.”

Nicolas sighed, ”But at that time, I didn’t think I’d have to make a second Philosopher’s Stone, so I used it all elsewhere... just on the Dragon statue at my doorstep, which is also my proudest work in nearly a hundred years.”

”And making the Philosopher’s Stone must use the ashes left from a Phoenix naturally undergoing Nirvana.” Dumbledore added from the side, ”The cleverly obtained ones can’t serve any use.”

”Alright.” Kael nodded.

So Nicolas and Dumbledore came for the ashes in his hands today, huh.

If I’d known, I should’ve stayed in Hogsmeade a little longer, or even spent the night there...

Although thinking so, Kael still opened his box and took out a tightly sealed bottle.

The bottle was only the size of a thumb, the mouth sealed with a cork, and an extra layer of wax.

Inside was half a bottle of gray-black powder, and when the bottle was shaken, one could see spots of golden red light, like stars shining in the night, too beautiful to look away.

”This is all I have, do you need it all?” Kael asked.

He really hoped Nicolas could leave him some, even if just a pinch.

But unfortunately, these were not even enough.

”Although a bit short, it’s barely enough.” Nicolas’s words shattered Kael’s last bit of hope.

Seeing Kael’s reluctant face, Dumbledore, somewhat embarrassed, said, ”I know, this might be a difficult decision for you.

”In fact, I initially wanted to ask Professor Snape, but the ashes he took have already been used, and before Fawkes’s next Nirvana, there’s only yours left.”

Snape used the ashes so quickly.

Kael truly hadn’t expected that.

Logically, such a precious thing should be carefully preserved, kept for decades, then passed on to Conna as a family heirloom, and then...

Ahem, in any case, Snape’s behavior is simply a waste of a precious resource!

”Shameful waste.” Kael thought to himself.

But it’s too late to say anything now.

Looking at Dumbledore’s hopeful, even pleading face, and the pair of blue and white wool socks on the office bookshelf that he placed, Kael finally sighed and handed over the bottle.

”I’m entrusting this to you, Professor.”

Dumbledore immediately came forward and carefully took it, gently as if handling a cup of water.

”I’ve discussed it with Nicolas.”

After storing the bottle in a padded wooden box, he said, ”We unanimously agreed that if the Philosopher’s Stone isn’t damaged after use, then it’s yours.

If it’s damaged... I can grant you a condition, any condition, even if it means transferring my personal Vault in Gringotts to you.”

Kael waved his hand, ”That’s not necessary, Professor Dumbledore.”

He didn’t quite understand what happened recently. A few days ago, Sirius insisted on giving him a nearly ten thousand Galleon store, and now Dumbledore wants to give him a vault.

It seems a bit exaggerated.

Of course, if possible, he’d still rather want the Philosopher’s Stone.
