Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 514: Chapter 512: Golden Snitch and Bludger

From the start of the match until now, the Quidditch Pitch has never been quiet, with everyone continuously cheering and waving colorful flags.

When looking from the spectator stands down, one would find that the original Quidditch Pitch has been divided into three equally sized areas.

There are no walls or similar obstructions between each area, yet they magically do not interfere with each other, remaining distinctly separate.

However, at this moment, a very strange scene appeared on the field.

On Krum’s side, it was bustling with excitement as five identical Zouwus chased him around the field, attracting countless gazes.

Fleur’s side was also dazzling; she seemed to be performing some kind of strange dance, gracefully spinning around the Zouwus, and the Zouwus had no intention of attacking her. Occasionally, Fleur would reach out, trying to take the Golden Key from its neck, and each time the Zouwu would leap aside, assuming an attacking posture.

But when Fleur started her strange dance again, it would calm down once more.

People noticed the Zouwu’s reactions were becoming slower, and at this rate, it was only a matter of time before Fleur got the key.

Though not as loud as the neighboring excitement, that strange dance was rather interesting, and many couldn’t take their eyes off it.

In stark contrast, Kael’s area was truly silent... no exciting chase or dancing. They saw Kael lying face-to-face with the Zouwu on the ground, as if under a Petrification Spell.

Because of this, from being in the spotlight initially, not many people were paying attention there anymore.

”What on earth is Kael doing!” Fred put down the ”Support Kael, Hogwarts Champion” banner, rubbing his sore arm.

”Could the Zouwu know the Petrification Spell?” George asked.

”No, it can’t!”

Cedric shook his head, ”The Zouwu is most famous for its splitting ability; it doesn’t know any other magic...

”A few years ago, during the Fantastic Beasts smuggling incident, my dad complained after drinking that they had a hard time capturing all three Zouwus. I specifically checked the information on this Fantastic Beast, so I remember very clearly.”

”Then what’s he doing?” George asked.

Cedric shook his head, ”I don’t know either, Kael should have his own plan.”

On the far right, there was a row of forward-facing golden chairs - the judges’ seats.

Ms. Maxime leaned back slightly, whispering, ”What is he up to?”

”I also have no idea.” Professor Rockneil sitting behind said, ”The child has a good relationship with Scamander, perhaps he has a special way.”

”Do you mean to say, he knows how to soothe a Zouwu?” Ms. Maxime frowned.

That was her main worry, for if that were the case, Beauxbatons’s advantage would be nullified.

”Perhaps.” Professor Rockneil paused, glanced at Dumbledore, then continued as if chatting normally, ”Mr. Scamander is an outstanding master of Fantastic Beasts. I might be a tad more comprehensive than him in the research of the Zouwu, but in other aspects, I can’t measure up to him. It’s a pity he didn’t come today.”

Ms. Maxime nodded, understanding his meaning.

Even though Rockneil surpasses Newt only in Zouwu research, it’s enough, as the competition is about the Zouwu.

Sadly, unable to halt the other two champions in the first round, but at least it might give Fleur an edge later.

”Ah, look!”

At this time, a chorus of surprised exclamations turned Maxime’s attention back to the field, and she instinctively looked over.

Then she smiled satisfactorily.

Fleur had already obtained the Golden Key from the Zouwu’s neck and was swiftly heading towards the door.

”Oh!” another burst of exclamations arose.

Maxime initially thought something happened with Krum, but upon closer look, she saw he was using the Transfiguration Spell to divert the Zouwu’s attention.

Though the Transfiguration Technique was impressive, it wasn’t enough to cause such an uproar.

She instinctively glanced at Kael’s area.

”What?!” In the next second, Maxime shot up from her seat.

Because Kael, who had been lying on the ground appearing petrified, suddenly moved.

Without any warning, he lunged forward, and not just the spectators, even the Zouwu seemed caught off guard.

Under everyone’s gaze, Kael quickly pulled off the Golden Key from its neck, as effortlessly as taking a baked potato from a plate.

In contrast, Krum, who was being chased around the field, with even his clothes shredded into ribbons by the Zouwu... many couldn’t help but scratch their heads in confusion.

Were they actually partaking in the same event, or was the gap simply this wide?

Meanwhile, on the other side of the field, after obtaining the Golden Key, Kael whispered, ”Now, quickly chase me, that counts as completing the task too.

”Also, I’ll place the Long-Bearded Catfish jerky under the third tree behind the wooden shed by the forest’s edge at sunset; make sure to get it quickly so the Kneazles don’t eat it.”

With that said, Kael took off running, and the Zouwu leaped in pursuit.

Kael picked up speed, the Zouwu matched his pace... keeping inches away from each other.

”I knew it, I knew it!” Fred, in the stands, excitedly waved his banner, ”Kael must have been tricking the Zouwu earlier, see, it fell for it!”

”Go on, run faster!” shouted George at the top of his lungs.

Finally, Kael reached that door and decisively inserted the key into the lock.

The Zouwu behind him swiped its paw across his robe, leaving three long gouges.

”Crack!”

At this moment, the door also opened.

Kael pulled open the door and stepped through with one foot.

In an instant, everything around seemed to shift abruptly.

The Zouwu behind him vanished, as did the door...

As if a shattered puzzle had been reassembled, the vast Quidditch Pitch kept extending, expanding, growing larger than before.

Then, the ground underfoot began to collapse, initially from the farthest point, moving closer and closer.

Soon, except for an area within a foot around Kael, there were no more secure footholds. He stood on the edge of a toweringly high cliff.

The spectators in the stands reacted similarly, gasping and clapping their hands over their mouths in shock at the collapsing ground, then quickly cheering with excitement.

Because a golden spark glimmered beneath the cliff, it appeared instantly before everyone, moving so fast it trailed a golden tail; it was dazzlingly beautiful.

”Oh, Golden Snitch!” someone in the stands shouted.

”No!” Cedric removed his eyes from the Panoramic Telescope, equally excited, ”The Golden Snitch doesn’t have a long beak, that’s the Golden Snidget, a rare species protected by the Magic Realm, banned from trade by all countries. Worth noting, the Golden Snitch was created to replace it.”

”Oh... look, Bludger!”

Following the Golden Snidget, a round Bludger also soared into the air.

George was so thrilled he stood up straight from his seat, ”Are they planning to hold a Quidditch match here? Watching a game during the Triwizard Tournament would be quite a delight.”

...

George guessed right, but only halfway.

Because a Quidditch match requires three kinds of balls, yet at this time on the field, there were only two types, a Golden Snidget, and... twenty-nine rampaging Bludgers.
