Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 519: Chapter 517: Charlie’s Help

Because of a Dungbomb that flew in from who knows where, the entire Quidditch Pitch instantly became chaotic,

Karkaroff used his wand to conjure clean water, continuously rinsing his mouth, but unfortunately, it wasn’t very effective.

The new version of the Dungbomb perfectly resolved the flaw of being easy to clean and greatly enhanced the sticking power of the smell, making it hard to remove even with detergent, let alone just plain water.

Frustrated and angry, Karkaroff found himself at a loss for words each time he wanted to speak, overwhelmed by the stench.

”Oh, what are you saying?” Dumbledore stepped forward loyally.

Karkaroff kept his mouth shut, trying to express his meaning.

”Indeed, you’re right, this is truly excessive.”

Dumbledore turned around and said to everyone, ”Professor Karkaroff asked me to inform you all that next time when watching the match, bringing dangerous magic tools like dungbombs is forbidden to prevent them from exploding in the crowd.”

”Mmm... mmm...” Karkaroff grumbled with a stiff neck.

He clearly meant they should find the student and punish them severely, but it somehow came out as a light warning from Dumbledore.

”Mr. Karkaroff, try this.” Someone squeezed through the crowd.

Filch handed a big bottle to Karkaroff, saying, ”This is Mrs. Skol’s brand of magical stain remover, perfect for cleaning your mouth.”

Cleaning the mouth with stain remover?

Karkaroff felt his dignity was insulted, and he trembled with anger, glaring fiercely at Filch.

Filch, however, seemed oblivious and continued to elaborate on the wonders of the stain remover.

”It has a very refreshing scent. I usually spray some in the washroom, and the effect is quite nice.”

Karkaroff’s expression became even more unsightly, and he threw the bottle aside, picking up his wand to write out his message.

But at this moment, Dumbledore announced the dismissal.

”Everyone, leave in order, don’t crowd.” He said loudly, his voice just covering the sobbing sounds behind him.

”And remember, let the guests leave first... Oh, Minerva, could you notify the kitchen? The first task was a success, and I think a banquet is in order to celebrate.”

”Of course, Headmaster,” Professor McGonagall nodded, ”I’ll do it right away.”

So, under Karkaroff’s incredulous gaze, all the students were noisily heading towards the exit, laughing along the way.

Among them, Fred and George ran the fastest, weaving skillfully through the crowd and quickly leaving through the passage.

”I meant to throw it at him.”

After leaving the Quidditch Pitch, Fred looked back and couldn’t help but laugh, ”Who knew he’d open his mouth...”

George’s shoulders were shaking with laughter too, ”I imagine he won’t be able to eat anything for the next few days.”

”Maybe even a week...”

The two exchanged a glance and burst into laughter again.

Meanwhile, the champions Kael, Fleur, and Krum were taken to the same changing room where they were before.

”You all did well.” Ludo Bagman walked in, though he didn’t seem very pleased, appearing a bit distracted.

”Alright, I’ve got a few words to say.

The second task will begin at 10 a.m. on February 27. Until then, you can rest for quite some time.

However, we will leave you with something to ponder; a clue to the second task is hidden inside the stones you received... Solve this riddle to prepare yourself before the competition begins.

That’s all, understood? Alright, you can go and celebrate now.”

...

Kael left the changing room.

Maxime was waiting just outside, and as soon as Fleur came out, she was taken away by her.

Krum was taken by a Durmstrang student to the Hospital Wing, where he needed to recuperate for a while.

Kael spotted Conna not far away, and the two of them walked across the grounds, chatting incessantly.

As they just entered the castle, someone rushed towards them.

”I just can’t believe the event is so dangerous.” Mrs. Weasley said, her voice trembling, looking somewhat unsettled.

”Mom, Kael perfectly resolved all the issues,” Charlie Weasley came over, smiling, ”Don’t forget, he’s currently the highest scoring champion, nearly perfect.”

”Yes, you’re right...” Mrs. Weasley hugged Kael, ”You did great, I knew you could handle it... but I still feel their design of the task was too dangerous, dragons... you’re all just children.”

Charlie opened his mouth; he really wanted to tell Mrs. Weasley that even before the fourth year, Kael had faced dozens of dragons with Mr. Scamander.

But seeing Mrs. Weasley still appearing shaken, Charlie thought it best not to disturb her further.

He also stepped forward and hugged Kael, then sighed.

”It’s a shame; I thought it could help in some way.”

”What?” Kael asked, somewhat puzzled.

”That Swedish Short-Snout.”

Charlie said, ”When selecting the dragons, I specifically picked one that you and Mr. Scamander had once cared for, thinking it might help you.”

Kael said in surprise, ”So, that Swedish Short-Snout was chosen on purpose?”

”Just a suggestion; they originally wanted to choose two Hungarian Horntails,” Charlie said, ”But that’s irrelevant now. Judging by the Short-Snout’s reaction, it probably didn’t recognize you.”

”No, you’re wrong.” Kael looked around and lowered his voice, ”It was very helpful.”

”Oh?” Charlie’s eyes lit up.

Just then, a group of people walked into the auditorium from outside.

Charlie immediately closed his mouth, not continuing on the topic.

”Congratulations on completing the first task, Kael.”

He patted Kael’s arm, pretending as if nothing had happened, and said loudly, ”I’ll try to be here for the second task... if I can get the time off.”

Then he turned to Mrs. Weasley, ”Mom, I have to go.”

”So soon?” Mrs. Weasley frowned, ”Can’t you stay for a meal? It won’t take long.”

”I’m afraid not,” Charlie said, ”The dragons are already getting restless, their mood is very unstable, and we must return them as soon as possible.”

As he spoke, a roar sounded from outside the castle.

”Oh dear, looks like I must hurry,” Charlie waved to Mrs. Weasley and quickly ran out of the castle.

In the entrance hall, Mrs. Weasley spoke to Kael for a while longer, shared some advice, and then turned towards the stairs.

Visiting Hogwarts is a rare occasion, so before heading home, she planned to see Ginny and Ron.
