Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 364: Chapter 362: A Defence Against the Dark Arts Worth Looking Forward To

Changing the trajectory of the Summoning Charm is much harder than Kael imagined. By the end of class, he could only get the quill to stop about half a meter in front of him.

In the second Magic History class, he kept practicing.

Professor Binns is a ghost with centuries of teaching experience, and he continuously holds the honor of being the most popular professor at Hogwarts.

He usually doesn’t interfere with what students do in class, unless someone is snoring too loudly and it’s disturbing his reading.

”In 1612, the goblins used a small tavern in Hogsmeade Village as their command post to launch a rebellion against witches and wizards...”

He read the goblin rebellion history on the stage as usual, not a word out of place from the book.

In the last row, Kael used the backdrop of rising snores around him to repeatedly practice the Summoning Charm under the desk.

Conna initially wanted to listen to the class seriously, but soon her attention was drawn to the quill that kept jumping below the desk.

She was next to Kael during Charm Class, so she naturally knew what he was doing and even tried it herself for a while, although her progress was much slower than Kael’s.

Perhaps because it was just too boring and she didn’t want to sleep, Conna, who had been ready to give up, watched for a while and then took out her wand and quill again.

...

After Magic History ended, the students who had been in a deep sleep almost all woke up at the same time, rubbing their eyes and noisily preparing to go to the auditorium for lunch.

But when he reached the auditorium’s entrance, Kael was called again.

This time, it wasn’t Hermione who called him, but a Slytherin girl, Daphne Greengrass.

”Kael, I’m here to buy a badge.”

Daphne stopped Kael and got straight to the point without even a greeting: ”Tell me, how much.”

But Kael didn’t mind.

She was always quick with the payment, and every time they launched a new product, she was the first to come and buy the most expensive custom version.

This time, however, she brought a little girl with her, whom Kael recognized as a new student this year.

”This is my sister.” Daphne noticed Kael’s gaze and introduced impatiently: ”I’m buying the badge for her this time.”

The little girl was much more polite than her sister. Though she seemed a bit afraid of strangers, she seriously greeted Kael.

”Hello, I’m Astoria Greengrass, Slytherin first year.”

”Hello, I am...”

”Alright, enough with the endless greetings.” Daphne impatiently interrupted them, then looked at Kael and said: ”Quickly take out the badge, the best one, don’t try to fool me with that junk Longbottom is selling.”

Her temperament was just as bad as ever.

”The badges were all gone by this morning.”

Daphne frowned, about to ask when, but then Kael took out a delicate box from his pocket.

Daphne immediately recognized it: a rowan wood box, and it was fresh rowan wood, not just some random dry twig.

Fresh rowan wood had a softer color and a more obvious sheen.

She had lots of rowan wood furniture in her room, so she recognized it immediately.

”What is this?” Daphne was interested, ”Didn’t you say they were all gone?”

”The Fire Dragon isn’t just about scales.” Kael smiled: ”It will definitely meet your requirements.”

Kael opened the box to reveal a five-inch long, dagger-like dragon fang and a silver-white coil.

”It’s from a Hungarian Horntail, I assume you know of this Fire Dragon.”

Daphne snorted coldly, said nothing, and merely shifted her gaze to the silver-white coil.

”It’s woven with Unicorn Hair.” Kael introduced: ”In fact, Unicorns are also the nemesis of Dementors, these sacred creatures make them very uncomfortable.”

”How much?” Daphne’s eyes lit up.

”One hundred Galleons.”

Kael smiled: ”To make it convenient to hang on a backpack or robe, I added this coil... if you don’t need it, I can remove it, then it’ll just be twenty Galleons.”

”No, that’s not necessary.”

Daphne didn’t hesitate, directly placing the box in Astoria’s hands and handing a heavy bag to Kael.

”Here’s a hundred Galleons, I’ll take it.”

Beside her, Astoria curiously opened the box and touched the silver-white coil.

A warm current faintly flowed through her fingertips, quite comfortable.

She looked back at Kael, a bit curious.

When she heard the hundred Galleons earlier, she thought this guy was a trickster, but now it seemed like a misunderstanding.

Unicorn Hair was famously expensive, so a hundred Galleons was understandable.

For the same amount of money, it was much better than the gemstone brooch at her house, more practical and prettier.

Her sister had called him Kael just now?

Astoria suddenly remembered, when the Malfoys visited a month ago, Draco mentioned this person to her.

Including the map he gave her yesterday, it seemed like she bought it from this person too.

But just then, Daphne’s voice came through suddenly.

”Let’s go, Astoria.”

The little girl quickly returned to her senses and said to Kael: ”It was a pleasure meeting you, goodbye!”

Then, she was pulled into the auditorium.

”Are they really sisters?” Conna said quietly to the side: ”Why are their personalities so different?”

”It’s strange indeed, but that’s normal.” Kael said carelessly: ”Percy and Fred and George are brothers, do you think they’re alike?”

”Umm...”

Put that way, it suddenly makes sense.

Kael tucked the hundred Galleons safely away and also entered the auditorium.

Conna watched his actions and asked: ”Isn’t a hundred Galleons a bit too expensive? The previous items with Unicorn Hair were only dozens of Galleons. Aren’t you afraid she won’t buy it?”

”No, I’m not afraid.”

Kael walked to the long table and found an empty spot to sit down.

”This time it’s several complete tail hairs, so the price is naturally higher, and even if she doesn’t buy it, it’s fine, at worst I’ll disassemble the coil and use the Unicorn Hair elsewhere.”

”What Unicorn Hair?” Just then, Cedric walked over and sat next to Kael.

But he seemed to just ask casually and didn’t expect an answer, as soon as he sat down he asked mysteriously, ”By the way, when do you have Defence Against the Dark Arts?”

”Tomorrow morning.” Conna glanced at the schedule and asked, ”Why?”

”You must look forward to it, this year’s Defence Against the Dark Arts is totally different from the previous two years, it’s really amazing.”

Cedric poured himself some pumpkin juice, looking a bit excited, ”After all this time, Headmaster Dumbledore finally found a reliable professor!”
