Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 358: Chapter 356: Lupin Is Shocked for a Whole Year

About ten minutes later, the two Dementors left after checking all the compartments, and the lights in the corridor and on the racks lit up again.

The dim light seemed to dispel the cold; at least when it brightened up around, the train was filled with talking voices.

”What was that just now...” Conna asked.

”Dementors,” Kael replied, putting the luggage on the rack again. ”The guards of Azkaban.”

”I know those are Dementors,” Conna shook her head. ”I meant the spell you used just now to dispel the cold.”

”Oh, you mean that...” Kael handed out some chocolate to everyone, ”The Patronus Charm, also the simplest and most effective way to resist Dementors.

If you manage to summon a perfect Guardian God, it can even hurt a Dementor.”

”Ah? Wasn’t it the Lighting Spell you used just now?” Fred asked instinctively.

He only remembered that after Kael took out his wand, the compartment lit up—wasn’t that the Lighting Spell?

Kael ignored him.

The Lighting Spell and the Patronus Charm both produce light, but they... well, if you don’t look carefully, they are quite similar.

”A perfect Guardian God?” Conna asked curiously. ”What does it look like?”

”The light will gather into a silver-white animal,” Kael said, ”able to run and leap freely in mid-air, as if it’s alive.”

”Is it difficult?” Conna inquired.

She recalled not seeing any animal in the compartment earlier.

Despite wanting to learn this charm, if even Kael couldn’t do it, she felt there was no point in wasting her time.

”Hard to say, difficult but not difficult,” Kael explained. ”If you have a deep enough happy memory, learning this charm becomes quite simple.”

He learned the Patronus Charm in Romania from Newt, using memories of the thrill when he received the Hogwarts acceptance letter.

And Snape’s expression when he heard the words Half-Blood Prince seemed like he wanted to dig through the castle floor with his toes.

The effect was excellent.

He mastered the Patronus Charm in just two days.

But earlier, it wasn’t necessary to use the full Patronus Charm, as the Dementors were here on the Ministry of Magic’s orders to check the train, focusing on the Ministry rather than the Dementors.

So until this mandate is fulfilled, they wouldn’t leave, the appearance of the Dementor earlier proved that.

Forcing them away could backfire, possibly even angering them.

There are hundreds of students here, and Kael couldn’t guarantee he would protect everyone, even with Professor Lupin.

In extreme fear, not everyone would obediently listen.

...

After the Dementors left, the train restarted.

The group sat in their seats, discussing what had happened.

George was unlucky; his teeth chattered, making a series of ”clatter-clatter” sounds, and naturally, he bore the brunt of everyone’s teasing,

He explained repeatedly that it was because of the cold, but no one believed him.

Whether frightened or just cold didn’t matter now; everyone needed a new source of amusement to dispel the Dementors’ negative impact, and George was the perfect candidate—he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Fred’s laughter was the loudest among them.

As for George himself... anger and embarrassment sometimes work better than joy. While vigorously defending himself, he had long forgotten about the Dementor.

The train continued heading north, with a curtain of rain outside the window.

”Should we check on Harry?” Fred asked suddenly after jesting with George, ”I think I heard Ron shouting that he fainted.”

”Sure, let’s go have a look,” Kael nodded.

He grabbed two boxes of chocolates from the table and left the compartment.

Harry’s compartment was easy to find; it was at the end, surrounded by people.

Evidently, not only did they hear the screams earlier.

But as there was a professor inside, these people didn’t enter; they merely stood around, craning their necks to peer inside.

Kael and his group weren’t concerned with such matters and disregarded whether there was a professor or not. Fred and George pushed through the crowd under the pretense of visiting their brother Ron.

Harry lay on the floor, emitting groans as if he were dreaming of something awful.

Hermione and Ron were calling him continuously beside him.

The professor was writing a letter.

As Kael and the group entered the compartment, he glanced up, his gaze lingered on Fred and George’s red hair for a moment, and then he continued writing without driving them away.

”Kael...” Hermione asked urgently, ”Do you know how to wake Harry up quickly?”

”That’s not difficult.”

Kael thought for a moment and said, ”Gently wait for him to wake naturally, or roughly, splash cold water on his face—preferably the kind with ice shards, not much, just a basin will do.”

”But where can we find ice water...”

”You’re a wizard, Ron,” Hermione replied, raising her wand.

”No need,” Kael waved his hand. ”I have a better way.”

By then, Professor Lupin had finished his letter. Kael walked over and opened the window.

A gust of cold wind mixed with raindrops blew in, landing directly on Harry’s face.

Harry shivered repeatedly on the floor, opened his eyes in a daze.

”See?” Kael closed the window again.

Ron and Hermione quickly helped Harry back to his seat.

”Are you okay?” Ron asked nervously.

”I’m fine,” Harry said, quickly glancing towards the door. The cloaked figure was gone; only a row of heads remained outside, which quickly withdrew upon meeting his gaze.

”Where... where did that thing go? Who screamed just now?”

”No one screamed,” Ron said.

”But I heard... a woman’s scream.”

”The Dementor probably brought back some bad memories.”

Kael handed him chocolate, ”Eat some, it’ll do you good.”

Behind them, Professor Lupin also held a large piece of chocolate.

However, after seeing Kael’s beautifully packaged high-end chocolate with French writing on it, and his own three Sickle-a-piece clumsily wrapped chocolate, he silently pocketed his own chocolate.

”That chocolate must be five Sickles apiece,” Lupin muttered to himself, ”Why are all the young wizards so rich now?”

Harry took a small bite of the chocolate he received and was surprised to discover a warm flow coursing through him, making him feel much better.

”Thanks!” Harry looked at Kael, ”This chocolate is really good. Where did you buy it?”

”I don’t know.” Kael shrugged, ”A French friend gifted me a big bag of candy for my birthday, and among them was this.”

”French stuff... must be pricey,” Ron swallowed hard.

”Ten Galleons a piece.” Cedric spoke suddenly, ”I saw this brand of chocolate in a magic store during my trip in France. It’s said to contain fifty-year-old golden honey and Re’em milk—outrageously expensive.”

”Clang...”

Behind them, Lupin’s wand fell to the floor, shocked as he looked at Kael.

”Ten Galleons... for a piece of chocolate?”

”Kids these days are really loaded!”
