Ferocious Boss: Hubby, Let’s Get Married

Chapter 636: I Want to Love You Again

Yue Tingfeng had always been patient when dealing with Yue Pengcheng in the past. Regardless of how much he rejected the man or was unwilling to face the facts, the man was his biological father, and it was inevitable.

However, Yue Tingfeng thought how perfect it would have been if his father died when he was young, just like everyone else’s.

Pity that it was all just a dream.

The only thing Yue Tingfeng wanted to do was to protect Mrs. Yue.

He wanted to shield the fragile shoulders of the woman who took care of him all those years.

Before Yue Tingfeng could land a blow, a gentle touch held him back.

“My son, you go on ahead. There are a few things I want to tell him that I’ve kept inside me for more than ten years.”

Yue Tingfeng turned around in astonishment and looked at Mrs. Yue. Her gaze was unwaveringly determined, but her skin was pale. Without any makeup, she lacked luster while her dame-like character dwindled slightly. Her soft and delicate facial features showed that she was still attractive despite her old age.

Seeing her in front of him at that moment, after thirty years, Yue Pengcheng finally understood why his father wanted her to marry that wealthy family’s young girl.

Yue Pengcheng’s uselessness, however, would only be a burden on her.

If he lived his life well with Su Ningmei, he would have been the king of the Su family’s household. He could do anything he liked, and not only would he be able to live with ease inside Luo City, but he could even do the same throughout the entire country.

Yue Pengcheng regretted it so much that he felt pain in his liver, but regret would not bring him anywhere.

Seeing that Mrs. Yue told Yue Tingfeng to give them space for a private discussion, he felt instantly elated.

He always believed that Mrs. Yue was a stupid woman who could be easily dealt with. At any moment, she was surely going to keel over at his suit pants.

Yue Tingfeng looked at Mrs. Yue but kept quiet.

He glared at her, using his eyes to ask, ‘Can you really do it?’

Mrs. Yue responded by hinting at him, ‘Don’t worry.’

She no longer was the Su Ningmei of yesteryear, who shivered and trembled at the mere sight of them.

Yue Tingfeng nodded.

…

Mrs. Yue sat down with Yue Pengcheng. The lounge was empty except for them.

Yue Pengcheng began speaking as soon as he sat down, “Ningmei, I know you’re unhappy. I’m sorry for the things I did to you. I shouldn’t have been with Ding Fu behind your back. I’m sorry. I’m sorry for all the wrongful things I did to you during my youth. I didn’t treat you well. I don’t dare to make extravagant demands in asking for your forgiveness, but… please give me a chance to make up for my mistakes.”

Mrs. Yue picked up the spoon and swirled the coffee inside her cup. She asked, “How do you want to make up for it?”

She did not have the face of disdain that she put up for Yue Tingfeng, nor did she have the glee that had for Yan Qingsi. All she had was calmness, like still water.

A noble aura emitted from her body, contrasting with the servile and ingratiating Yue Pengcheng before her.

Yue Pengcheng said hurriedly, “Ningmei, I want to take good care of you. As the saying goes, young couples become companions for each other when they grow old. I wronged you when I was younger when the wh*re Ding Fu seduced me, but now, I know my mistakes. I’ve repented. I want… to love you properly once more. Is that possible?”

Mrs. Yue looked up and smiled at Yue Pengcheng. “Do you think it’s possible?”

If Yue Pengcheng understood Yan Qingsi, he would know that Mrs. Yue’s smile was almost an exact copy of Yan Qingsi’s smile.

The smile was beautiful, very beautiful… but lurking behind it was a tremendous amount of peril.
