Global Game: I Have Portable Store

Linda thought about it, found it quite reasonable, and nodded, “Yes, in this way, spreading faith and resisting the Demon Race can both be achieved without conflict; it’s a perfect solution.”

Their ultimate goal in spreading faith within the Empire was precisely for resisting the Demon Race.

Seeing this scene, Su Changxing felt a bit overwhelmed. The Saintess’ stance seemed somewhat unstable, but he did not stop her. The All Beings Sect originally had no foundation within the Empire, attempting to develop faith starting from the Imperial Capital would be relatively difficult.

It could be anticipated that the Empire would not allow the All Beings Sect to expand faith wantonly within the Imperial Capital and achieve full development, so it would be better to have Linda go to the border of the Empire. The harsher the environment, the more it becomes a hotbed for faith.

Humanity only turns to God in times of despair.

The journey ahead was calm, and Linda and the others arrived at the Imperial Capital, where they met the Emperor at the Imperial Palace.

He was a middle-aged man with a tired look on his face and a hopeful expression as he looked towards Linda, “The Empire will fully support the development of the All Beings Sect, feel free to express any requirements. The construction of a cathedral on the scale of the Ancient Church will be carried out here in the Imperial Capital.”

“After all, given the current critical period, it might take longer than expected, so I hope for the Saintess’ understanding.”

Linda said with a gentle smile, “Thank you for your support, Your Majesty. I will immediately head to the border cities to spread faith and resist the Demon Race’s invasion.”

It was unexpected that the Emperor planned to build a cathedral of the largest scale in the Imperial Capital. She thought that the Divine Spirit will be very pleased upon hearing this news.

Thinking this, her smile became warmer and she felt she had overachieved in her mission.

All around, the ministers had varied expressions, being insightful individuals, they faintly heard the Emperor’s calculations.

The Prime Minister then asked, “Saintess, did the Divine Spirit mention how to assist the Empire in resisting the Demon Race’s army invasion?”

Linda blinked, her mind suddenly going blank. The Divine Spirit had never mentioned this matter, nor had she considered it before. Thinking quickly, she responded earnestly,

“It probably relates to our Empire’s faith. The more followers there are, the more sincere the faith, and the greater the assistance will be.”

Of course, this was her own guess, Su Changxing certainly hadn’t said this, but it was a demonstration of her subjective initiative!

The extent of assistance from the Divine Spirit related to the Empire’s faith?

Hearing this, a peculiar look flashed simultaneously on the faces of the Prime Minister and the Emperor. They hardly believed in the compassion of the Divine Spirit, thinking that if the Empire’s faith was insufficient, wouldn’t the Divine Spirit simply stand by?

The Emperor made a prompt decision and said, “Saintess, when the time comes, you will bring part of the Forbidden Guard with you. Anyone who doesn’t cooperate with you can be directly dealt with.”

“Later, I will issue orders to various places so that every city will fully collaborate with the Church’s affairs.”

The words were filled with sincerity and a palpable fear of the Demon Race’s army; the Empire must now fully cooperate with the All Beings Sect at least for the current period.

Linda maintained her smile and said honestly, “Thank you for your support, Your Majesty. I will certainly not fall short of expectations and will greatly expand the All Beings Sect within the Empire!”

The Emperor nodded with satisfaction, though slightly twitching his face, he calmly said, “The Empire’s hope is placed upon you.”

Upon hearing this, Linda became even more exhilarated, feeling she carried a heavy mission and must strive to become a perfect Saintess.

Meanwhile.

Su Changxing also realized that the Empire likely had deep reservations against him; without the external threat of the Demon Race, expanding faith within the Empire would be very challenging.

Yet this came as no surprise, a godless nation would naturally harbor taboos against deities.

Not delaying too long in the Imperial Capital, Linda who arrived in the morning left in the afternoon, headed towards the Empire’s border with the destination being Luo Han instead of Viduo.

A heavily guarded city, with a garrison of an entire legion, over a hundred thousand soldiers, having previously suffered an attack from the Demon Race. Although casualties were minimal, the city was quite tense with occasional small disturbances or acts of robbery and murder, resembling a prelude to the apocalypse.

From the frontier of the Empire outward, a longer-range teleportation array was arranged, reducing the travel from the Imperial Capital to Luo Han to just half a day.

When Linda and her entourage arrived at Luo Han late at night, the city walls were still brightly lit, with dense patrols by soldiers.

“Finally here.” Linda sighed, feeling exceedingly exhausted, wanting nothing more than to take a bath, lie on a bed, and sleep comfortably.

She took a deep breath, composed herself, knowing there’s still much to do, including building the church overnight.

At this moment.

Luo Han’s City Lord also arrived, likewise a mage, somewhat portly, wearing a monocle, “Saintess, you’ve finally arrived. I’ve been waiting here all along. I am Luo Han’s City Lord, Dale.”

The orders from the Imperial Capital came in the afternoon; knowing the situation, not just him but the entire city was in a state of both surprise and joy.

They had methods to resist the Demon Race’s army, but relied on the Divine Spirit.

For the vast majority of the Empire’s populace, the Divine Spirit was an exceptionally unfamiliar entity, with some not even knowing what God was, perhaps thinking a Divine Spirit is just a more powerful mage.

Linda nodded and asked, “Have the city craftsmen started working?”
