Global Game: I Have Portable Store

A large number of zombies in the undead tide were devoured by the tentacles, and he didn’t feel distressed at all. These zombies were pretty much picked up by him, and this world is filled with them everywhere. Even if one batch is eaten, he can gather another batch.

The gathering speed is far slower than the tentacles’ eating speed.

He did confirm one thing: ordinary zombies cannot even scratch the tentacles, even in large numbers, they’re purely food.

Su Changxing didn’t let the undead tide become too dense but maintained a certain distance between zombies to slow down the feeding process. The tentacles could only devour two to three dozen zombies with one swing.

This process continued for over an hour, consuming more than half of the seventy to eighty thousand undead tide, allowing people in the settlement to successfully evacuate.

And those tentacles seemed to be satiated, becoming quiet and slowing their movements. Previously, they looked ravenous, devouring wildly; now, it’s like they’re leisurely snacking after getting full, completely forgetting their initial purpose.

The undead tide gradually dispersed, with the remaining ones retreating back. The tentacles didn’t react much, staying quietly in place.

”So it was just hungry.”

Su Changxing came to a very reasonable conclusion that this monster was merely hungry. It only took five thousand zombies to get full, its appetite wasn’t that large after all.

He pondered how to handle this monster. It’s impossible to always wait until the monster is hungry and then feed it the undead tide. Even if he could manage, the zombies here might not withstand it; after a few feedings, it could completely wipe out the zombies in this area.

Moreover, this approach has extreme risks. Like the Big Horn, constantly feeding can strengthen itself, consistently throwing food to that monster might bring some unexpected changes.

Ignoring it would still be the same, this monster will go find food on its own.

...

On the other side, the new humans monitoring this place were in chaos too, feeling the radiation in the space intensifying visibly. Several members of the Expedition Corps fell to the ground, their flesh liquefying, resembling melted chocolate dripping down.

”How did that thing emerge from underground? Didn’t we just seal it?” Sena said with a bit of anxiety in his tone, promptly instructing the Expedition Corps members next to him:

”Quickly contact the Apocalypse Giant Elephant. Tell them the world’s barrier has emerged from underground, it needs to be sealed again, or else the radiation will continue spreading east along Luangu Road.”

Half a century ago, this was a place they couldn’t reach, permeated by lethal radiation. Under this radiation, their flesh would rapidly turn viscous, fall away, then liquefy until death.

Even the most powerful Extraordinary couldn’t resist such radiation, akin to a divine decree halting their advance.

But human will is not so easily fettered.

They found a thing that could absorb radiation, a mass of unknown purple flesh.

That purple flesh could absorb a wide range of radiation from the border area and grew larger as it absorbed more radiation.

At some point, this thing started to have a certain amount of self-awareness, though very weak, and it completely blocked the radiation of the border area.

...

After evacuation, people from the settlement scattered thoroughly, moving in the direction away from the Tentacle Monster.

”That Divine Creature saved us.” Xu Jie said, catching her breath, leaning against the wall, with zombie corpses everywhere and a large creature corpse with its head chopped off.

Around a dozen or twenty people were scattered, temporarily separated from others.

Everyone had to admit this fact, at least they couldn’t call it a coincidence.

Yi Xiaodong fell into contemplation, then said, ”I’m wondering if that Divine Creature still retains human will, otherwise why would it do this.”

”Also, we know very little about Divine Creatures, maybe it inherently holds some goodwill towards us...”

In such a dark world, humans can’t find any creatures showing kindness towards them, even amongst themselves there are frequent conflicts.

Xu Jie thought for a moment and continued, ”When the Law Enforcement Team arrives, we definitely have to inform them about the situation here. It’s best not to attack that Divine Creature recklessly, or it might backfire.”

Just as they were conversing, a zombie lying on the ground suddenly opened its eyes wide, with a blue glow flashing through them.

It was Su Changxing controlling this zombie.

Divine Creature?

Su Changxing noticed a strange designation seemingly referring to him, but he was clearly just a zombie, why the weird title?

Yi Xiaodong glanced at Xu Jie and whispered, ”It’s not that simple, I suspect those tentacles were lured here by Doomsday Cult believers, they have ulterior motives.”

”And I also suspect these tentacles themselves might be Divine Creatures.”

Xu Jie repeated, ”Indeed, that monster itself might be a Divine Creature.”

Su Changxing controlled the zombie lying on the ground, tilting his head to observe the scene, feeling a massive discord, not astonished by their conversation but by seeing Yi Xiaodong talking to himself, as if suffering from split personality. What made him uneasy was that the surrounding people didn’t find it strange.
