Global Game: I Have Portable Store

This is also the strangest thing.

”They’re all going crazy, scared stupid?”

Su Changxing suddenly realized that these people’s spirits were probably already distorted, influenced by some power, and they themselves weren’t even aware of such distortion. The twisted consciousness formed a closed loop, making them think everything was quite reasonable.

”Is it because of that tentacle monster?”

He secretly felt grateful for not having approached that tentacle monster himself, otherwise he might have also had his spirit twisted.

However, on the other hand, as a zombie, his spirit shouldn’t appear normal, it’s inherently twisted. But due to his nature, the extent of this distortion is just right, distorted to a normal appearance.

It’s probably like a double negative resulting in a positive.

A twisted spirit further twisted remains a distorted spirit, there’s no talk of layering. There’s only talk of coverage where a higher level of twisted spirit will overshadow a lower level.

Just like when Su Changxing’s twisted spirit from the Evil God overshadowed the curse from the old Monk.

”Isn’t this beyond saving?” Su Changxing muttered, thinking these people would likely lose control, and consequently, their bodies would twist into monsters.

This is the normal process of an Extraordinary losing control: first, the spirit is influenced and then distorted, further affecting the body to fully lose control.

Generally, once the spirit is completely twisted, the process becomes irreversible and unstoppable. Turning into a monster is only a matter of time.

”This means a large part of the community has been influenced. If these people continue to be in close proximity to the tentacle monster, they might really be beyond saving.”

Su Changxing pondered silently, watching as a person continued to talk to himself, then suddenly stopped, with a glimmer of clarity flashing in his eyes.

”Hmm?”

Yi Xiaodong looked in front of himself at the empty space. There was no one there, and his memories were foggy and chaotic. He distinctly sensed Xu Jie was just speaking to him recently.

He came to his senses, eyes widening, red veins spreading around his pupils, ”That’s a Divine Creature, we’ve been contaminated.”

Looking back, many people were lying on the ground, not dead but holding their heads and constantly struggling, occasionally crying out as if seeing something terrifying.

Some even saw zombies approaching without any reaction, allowing the zombie to knock them down and devour their bodies.

”Leave here, those still conscious follow me!”

He shouted, and also woke up quite a few others, or some instinctively followed him forward.

Even contaminated, they still had a chance to survive and couldn’t give up. But surely, they couldn’t head to other communities, or they risk spreading contamination to others.

Dim light scatters across the horizon, unfolding a new day with gentle warmth. The dilapidated city welcomed a brief light, the light after darkness but also the light before darkness.

They arrived at a residential area ten kilometers away from the community, with those still alive mostly gathered here, approximately over six hundred people, with the vast majority being Extraordinary individuals.

The first thing Yi Xiaodong did was sorting out their identities, ”Using squads as standards, check members’ identities, and find those who have lost their Player status.”

According to the news from District Thirteen, when contamination deepens to a certain extent, one loses Player status. At that point, they are indeed beyond saving, and turning into a monster is just a matter of time.

Losing Player status indicates deep contamination.

Beyond saving!

There were such people, but not many, just seven or eight out of more than six hundred, among whom several had close encounters with tentacles and narrowly survived, with parts of their bodies assimilated by tentacles.

Seeing this result, Yi Xiaodong breathed a sigh of relief, the situation was better than anticipated, ”Our infection isn’t considered severe, at least for most... These people have been deeply contaminated. Old Meng, take them out and have them executed.”

The middle-aged man with a square face nodded, waving his hand, signaling the Guard to take the few who lost Player status outside, ”Let’s take them out first.”

Then came the sound of ghostly wails.

”I’m fine!”

”Don’t kill me, I haven’t been contaminated, you’re mistaken.”

······

Xu Jie with hands on her hips, looked around at the people, revealing a feeling of loneliness, ”Still some people died, let’s first check the personnel.”

Yi Xiaodong glanced at her, thought for a moment and said, ”Some people didn’t die, just went missing. I guess they will gather in the next few days.”

”Let’s now think about how to deal with those tentacles. The Undead Tide can only hold it back temporarily, and then it’s bound to attack other communities.”

”Xu Jie, you first pass along the news here to other communities, so they can be prepared.”

Xu Jie nodded decisively, saying, ”I’ll handle it right away.”

As she turned and left, many people’s eyes followed her. Xu Jie was always among the upper echelon of the community as everyone knew, though the specific position remained unknown to most, or perhaps to none completely.

This was a vague issue.

But it wasn’t that important.

Everyone knew Xu Jie, as a member of the community’s leadership, was devoted and loyal, ready to undertake hardships without complaint.

...

Tentacles, like a large tree, froze in space, appearing very tranquil.

The whole day this tentacle monster maintained such a status as if asleep, dozing off, digesting the zombies it previously devoured.
