Global Game: I Have Portable Store

Su Changxing walked into the Empress’s chamber, located the position of the patterned keyhole, and inserted the ring, twisting it.

Immediately, the sound of mechanisms turning was heard from inside, and rune engravings resembling patterns appeared on the wall.

In front of him, door after door opened, the walls of the safety room were very thick.

Su Changxing walked down the long corridor into the safety room, just in time to see a young girl in a tight leather skirt, holding a short knife, standing at the door and looking this way cautiously.

”Why is it you!” The girl exclaimed upon seeing Su Changxing. She bore some resemblance to the Empress, with fair skin tinged with redness, making anyone who saw her find her beautiful and cute.

The girl should be the Princess.

Su Changxing felt that the Princess knew him and asked back, ”Ha? What’s up, I’m here to rescue you.”

Then, he turned and used the ring to close the secret room’s door to prevent others from coming in.

With the turning of the mechanism, the doors behind them closed one by one.

The girl seemed a little flustered and whispered, ”I never thought you would come to save me.”

Su Changxing found the girl’s expression strange, coughed, and said, ”Why not? What’s my relationship with the Empress? Before Housekeeper Mei Si died, he asked me to take the ring and rescue you, so here I am.”

The girl glared fiercely at Su Changxing, ”You’re asking me about your relationship? Are you trying to disgust me!”

Su Changxing showed a peculiar expression, seeing something from the Princess’s face, ”Alright, so we’re lovers? This identity is quite unexpected...”

The Princess didn’t respond, still angry, and then asked, ”Where’s my mother? Where did she go?”

It seems she doesn’t know the Empress is dead.

Su Changxing looked at her and said calmly, ”Dead, killed by the Duke. Right now, she’s still hanging in the council hall.”

The girl’s reaction wasn’t intense, just a slight shift in her eyes, as if she had already anticipated this result. No one had come to rescue her for so long, indicating something major had happened.

The girl was silent for a while and then said to Su Changxing, ”In this situation, you still came to save me. They say you’re timid and cowardly, but it doesn’t completely seem so now.”

Timid and cowardly?

Su Changxing found it hard to imagine what sort of person his identity was. Can a timid and cowardly person become the Empress’s lover?

It seems he’s being kept, truly bold.

Su Changxing recalled the Princess’s name was Kasmin, as he had read in the newspapers, and said, ”Kasmin, do you know a place called the Ninth Dimension?”

”You’re calling me by my name? You never called me that before.” Kasmin said, furrowing her brow.

Su Changxing thought for a moment and said, ”Then what should I call you? Since the Empress is dead, you should be the new Empress, so should I call you Your Majesty?”

”What a strange title? Just call me by my name.” Kasmin looked at Su Changxing again, feeling that something was odd, ”That Ninth Dimension you mentioned, I’ve never heard of it, is it some tavern’s name? You should be more familiar with this than I am, I heard you were mingling on the streets since childhood, previously an assassin, a timid assassin.”

Su Changxing noticed that Kasmin seemed very familiar with his identity. Should a Princess know so much about the Empress’s lover?

Since the mission mentioned you could learn the location of the Ninth Dimension from Kasmin, then she should know it, just perhaps with a different name.

Su Changxing took a breath and then said, ”Let’s leave first. Do you know how to get out of here?”

Kasmin pointed behind and said, ”We can escape the Imperial Tower from the back of the safety room. They don’t know the safety room’s location, so this route must be safe.”

”First, give me that ring, it symbolizes the Empress.”

Looking at the ring on his hand, Su Changxing shook his head and said, ”No, I’ll give it to you after we get out.”

”You don’t trust me!” Kasmin pouted angrily, ”I order you as the Princess, give it to me.”

Su Changxing glanced at her and ignored her, walking straight past her, ”Don’t say so much nonsense, I’m just helping you escape, I don’t care about anything else. This is a fair trade, do you understand trade?”

Kasmin followed behind, speaking coldly, ”You’re really heartless, just want to abandon me like this.”

Su Changxing looked at her helplessly, smiled, and said, ”I’m the Empress’s lover, not yours, what do you mean abandon you? If I can take you out and save your life, consider it even.”

Kasmin clenched her teeth, still looking grumpy, wanting to say something but stopped.

The safety room was well equipped, with food, water, and many books, as well as some strange mechanical devices, allowing one to live here for a long time.

Su Changxing grabbed a fresh apple from the table, took a big bite, and observed the map on the wall, ”Have you thought about what to do next? How to fight against the Duke? Presumably, if the Empress wasn’t an incompetent ruler, there should be many who support you.”

Kasmin said confidently, ”Of course! My mother restored the Empire to new glory after the turmoil more than ten years ago.”

Su Changxing picked up another newspaper on the table, ”I read it says there’s a large-scale plague outbreak in the south, killing many people.”

Kasmin sighed, ”That’s something from recent years, the plague is terrifyingly contagious, but fortunately, Wodan is across the sea and wasn’t affected.”

”Wodan is now completely under the Duke’s control. I need to leave here and go to Maelon.”

Su Changxing asked, ”Why go there?”

”Uncle Eric is a renowned Rune Master nationwide. His brilliance ignited the Empire more than ten years ago, changing our era. He will surely help us.” Kasmin said hopefully.

Su Changxing nodded, put down the newspaper, ”Alright, but to correct you, it’s you, not us. I have some urgent matters and don’t have the mind to worry about anything else.”

Kasmin stared at him, speaking seriously, ”With your attitude, my mother would surely be heartbroken.”

”Oh~” Su Changxing said expressionlessly and turned to walk towards the back of the safety room.

He noticed a Bronze Mirror on the side, seeing his reflection inside look the same but much older, with fine stubble on his chin.

What’s going on?

Did I age?

Su Changxing wasn’t too concerned; among all the unreasonable things, this seemed reasonable enough.

He reached the back of the safety room, using the ring to open the passageway leading outside. As the mechanism turned, a faint light came through the corridor.
