Global Game: I Have Portable Store

Being a Doomsday Cultist is actually a very dangerous thing.

Not only do they hide their identities from outsiders, but they also conceal them from each other, unless in a superior/subordinate relationship or recruitment relationship.

They despise their own identities, yet they are unwilling to let them go, maintaining a shred of conscience in their madness.

The person sitting in the corner stood up from the ground, walked towards the door, and said flatly: ”You guys figure it out, I’m not wading through this muddy water.”

”Wait a minute!”

The person standing in front of the table said coldly: ”No one is allowed to leave! This task is a death order from above; anyone who escapes will be treated as a traitor.”

The atmosphere in the room was suffocating. Both of these people were experts in the Doomsday Cult. The one who wanted to leave was named ”Anshe,” extremely skilled in assassination, and he had almost taken out the administrator of He Kou Town before.

The one keeping him there was a Priest of the Doomsday Cult, who had direct authority to contact the upper echelons of the cult.

”So what, even if I’m judged, I’ve been judged before, I’m not afraid,” Anshe sneered.

The Priest stared at him and said word by word in a deep voice: ”You can try and see what the outcome will be, I can’t guarantee... I just don’t want you to die in vain, and Extraordinary individuals can only move up by risking their lives. Don’t you want to take another step up?”

”At that time, I’ll cooperate with you, I’ll attack from the front and you’ll attack from the shadows, we will definitely catch him off guard.”

Anshe halted his steps, turned, and said: ”Alright, I can give it a try, but if it doesn’t work out, I’ll leave. By then, no one should have anything to say. We can’t be forced to throw our lives away, right?”

The reward for an S-level mission, who isn’t greedy? He is greedy too, just a bit more conscious than others.

Things have come to this point, he can try, but it’s just a try, he won’t sacrifice his life for it.

Those who can join the Doomsday Cult are all selfish, always thinking about themselves, who would sacrifice their life for no reason?

But benefits often drive people mad.

...

There weren’t too many or too few people on the road, the gunfire just now had some impact, but not enough to disperse the crowd, and there were even curious daredevils heading that way.

”Over there?”

Su Changxing looked to the side and asked Xu Wenfeng.

Although they hadn’t pinpointed the exact location of the Doomsday Cult’s stronghold before, they had found a general area.

Xu Wenfeng gestured and said: ”Just up ahead. But now that we’ve exposed ourselves like this, they’re probably gone.”

Su Changxing mused and shook his head, saying: ”No, it’s only a few of us, why would they run? Are they actually afraid of us?”

Xu Wenfeng snapped back to the present, realizing that these Doomsday Cultists didn’t know Su Changxing was here in person: ”Right, they’re all pretty bold, they won’t run.”

Gu Xingrong thought these people were the ones who were truly bold, but what puzzled him were those Doomsday Cultists, who hadn’t made a move against them the whole way, except for that one unlucky gunman at the start.

”Are those Doomsday Cultists really scared?” he muttered, following behind, feeling a lot more at ease, Su Changxing and Xu Wenfeng’s relaxed attitude affecting him.

As they spoke.

A boy in an ill-fitting coat came running towards them from the street ahead, shouting: ”Brother Xingrong, did you hear the gunshots over there just now?”

Gu Xingrong frowned slightly, face stern, and said: ”Didn’t I tell you not to come out? It’s dangerous outside.”

The boy handed him a box and said: ”This is food my sister prepared for you, I’ll head back right after delivering it.”

”Is he your younger brother?” Xu Wenfeng asked.

”Sort of.”

Gu Xingrong nodded, responding vaguely.

Just as he was about to open the box, it was as if he suddenly realized something, immediately tossing it far away.

The box exploded mid-air, sending the old trash can on roadside flying along with it.

Luckily, Gu Xingrong had thrown it towards a less crowded area, so there were no deaths, only a few injuries.

A sudden explosion.

The boy hadn’t reacted yet, just staring dumbfounded at the devastation, not yet understanding what had happened.

”Why was there a bomb in the box?” Gu Xingrong looked at the boy and questioned.

The boy shook his head repeatedly and said: ”I... I don’t know, that’s just what my sister gave me, and then I brought it over.”

Gu Xingrong’s face turned somber, patting the boy on the shoulder for comfort: ”You go back first, no, I’ll go with you.”

Gu Xingrong gave Su Changxing an apologetic look, saying: ”I have to go take a look.”

After saying that, he ran down the street with the boy.

”Shall we go?” Xu Wenfeng asked.

Su Changxing nodded: ”Let’s go see what’s going on, it won’t delay things.”

Just as they caught up, they heard another explosion. A building not far away was blown apart from the middle, with large chunks of rubble falling down.

The consecutive explosions filled the air with a strong smell of gunpowder, somewhat pungent, yet not unpleasant.

”Sister! My sister is inside!”

The boy shouted, his expression close to breaking down, such a sudden change left him at a loss.

Gu Xingrong was digging through the rubble, trying to find the body.

In the smoke, a dark figure leapt towards him from above.

Gu Xingrong reacted, drawing the long knife from his waist, slicing upwards, not avoiding the opponent’s sharpness at all.

At the same time, one could see Gu Xingrong’s paralyzed cheek covered with some black lines, those lines weren’t fixed and moved across his face, like tiny worms.

Gu Xingrong’s entire demeanor drastically changed, becoming darker, deeper.
