Child of Destiny

While Chaotic Luck was still confused, the other parties were feeling the opposite. They all seemed to have already expected this to happen.

They were neither surprised nor caught off guard since they were already expecting such an outcome from these two parties.

If there was something that caught them off guard, then it was how fast those two arrived at the battlefield, not giving the other parties time to move and take their spots from them.

It was especially true for Riko, who seemed to be capable of teleporting between two points without showing any signs of transfer and avoiding the sharp senses of these apex experts.

Still confused and stunned about the current situation, Chaotic Luck was unable to immediately process what was happening until the system reminded him to return to his platform.

…

The next round was a battle for rivals.

Since Chaotic Luck and the side of the Heavenly Resto-Bar had just fought, and the Black Market could still wait until the final due to them fighting twice in the previous rotation, there were only two parties that were meant to fight for this round – the Dragon Pavilion and the Black Serpent Mafia.

In the end, it was fated for these two guilds to clash against one another wherever they were.

Given that it was a battle between old-time rivals, both sides would naturally give their all due to their pride.

This was another ego battle between rival guilds, who would surely do everything they could against each other.

It did not take that long before the two sides sent their respective representatives.

“Oh~! It is Viper and Tyrant Dragon! This is going to be another classic battle between two sides,” said Arthur after seeing the representatives of each side.

He naturally could not tell it based on their respective appearance alone. After all, the mysterious energy was still present to shroud everyone’s appearance and hide their true identity from one another.

However, after observing for a long time and seeing how everyone had acted. The air around them was also different from one another, which was a clear indication of their style and identity.

Arthur had also fought against these experts throughout the games that he had played before, so it was only natural for him to be very familiar with them.

If Arthur could guess the identities of these two combatants, then both sides could naturally recognize each other as well, given their respective backgrounds and the history that their organization had against each other.

“One is an expert of spear and lightning powers from the Dragon Pavilion, while the other is among the most cunning assassins of Hydra Guild, who also happens to be another poison expert,” mumbled Ryoto before nodding his head. “This is indeed going to be another interesting matchup.”

…

This round was as intense as everyone was expecting.

The collisions between the two sides were not as numerous as the previous battles, especially because of the difference in style and classes of each side.

Viper might not be the fastest and could be easily countered by Tyrant Dragon’s movement speed, which was greatly enhanced by his lightning element. However, his strengths lie more in other areas, such as his cunning mind and sneaky ambushes.

Alongside his poison abilities, which he was using differently compared to Cobra, who had fought Arthur earlier, the variety of attacks seemed to be quite different as well.

Unlike Cobra, who could manipulate the poison powers themselves and turn them into objects or creatures that he wanted, Viper relied more on applying his poisons to his weapons.

Aside from his sneaky and cunning style of fighting, the hidden weapons that were under his arsenal were quite numerous and of different varieties as well, making it harder to predict his actions.

Sometimes, he was using crossbows with poisoned bolts. At times, deadly chains would suddenly sprout from the ground and try to catch Tyrant Dragon. There were also instances where throwing daggers with poisoned blades would come flying out of nowhere.

Adding the series of other forms of ambushes that he was throwing at Tyrant Dragon, particularly the melee ones, dealing with him was quite tricky, even with the caliber of his opponents.

However, Tyrant Dragon himself was not an ordinary expert either. Not only were his responses quick, but also extremely precise as well.

None of the tricky and unpredictable ambushes succeeded despite how odd the angles they were coming from or how unexpected their timing was.

The clash of their styles provided everyonewith a lot of entertainment, particularly whenever they were showcasing the variety of skills, abilities, and techniques in their respective arsenal.

However, the style that overcame the other and won in the end was still Tyrant Dragon, who relied on his large-scale attacks and extreme destructive powers.

In the end, Viper could not overcome this challenge and lost in the end.

Even if he had quite a lot of instances where he had showcased his combat prowess and dozens of times that he could kill his opponent, he was unable to properly grasp those opportunities due to the tight defenses of his opponent, particularly when it required fast reaction speed.

…

“Viper has performed quite well, but it is not enough to defeat Tyrant Dragon, who clearly has the absolute advantage when it comes to the overall strengths that they have,” mumbled Aoki while furrowing his brows.

He could not clearly put his finger on it, but he felt that something was amiss in the current situation.

He only realized it when he heard Riko’s words, who was standing beside him.

“What are those guys from the Hydra Guild thinking? Are they also planning to concede this round?” she said, confused.

“Concede!?” he mumbled before finally realizing where the odd feeling was coming from. “That’s right! Those guys from the Hydra Guild should be fully aware of the strength of their rivals.”

“Since everyone is already aware that the Dragon Pavilion has already sent Tyrant Dragon out, then they should be very aware of it as well, giving them a chance to send someone who can restrict him.”

“Yet-… they have sent Viper instead.”

“Is it because they have no other person that can do the job and just send him instead, or is it because they have other thoughts in mind?” he mumbled, feeling that it was most likely the latter case.

He then turned to Arthur, who seemed to be also in deep thought and thinking at the same time. “What do you think, Junior?”

Arthur immediately answered. “It is the latter, without a doubt. They are surely plotting something.”

He pointed at the platform where the members of the Hydra Guild were before continuing. “As you can see, the air surrounding those guys greatly changed.”

“Previously, we can tell from the third trial that Viper is the one leading the operation. Even that guy that I just fought seems to be following his orders during that round.”

“However, it is clear that there is a sudden change in authority, especially given how Viper had acted,” he said before quickly adding. “It is as if that will be his last battle for this operation.”

“He may still have hidden quite a few of his cards, but it is undeniable that he has done quite a lot just for this battle.”

“On the same thought, it also felt that he had been treated as a pawn for this round. It is clear that someone has taken over the leading position.”

Hearing this, Aoki nodded his head repeatedly, agreeing to his words.

“What are they planning for throwing such a crucial win? They have already lost two rounds because of this,” asked Riko, seemingly a bit confused.

Arthur, on the other hand, just shrugged his shoulders in response to her. “Who knows? But whatever it is, I am sure that they are quite confident about it.”

While they were discussing, the system notified them that they had to send their next representative for the next round.

It was either them or Chaotic Luck who had to fight for this round.

“Should we take this chance?” asked Arthur, turning to Aoki, who should be the lead on this operation.

Aoki thought for a moment before shaking his head. “I think it is more favorable for our side to let your friend take on the stage, especially when either of us needs to fight for the first round of the next rotation.”

“If we take on this round, then your friend will have no choice but to be the first to take on the stage for the next rotation, which will be easy for them to predict.”

“However, if it is us, then we still have two members to fight for us, which will still give the other parties a bit of a headache.”

Hearing this, Arthur nodded before firing a flame into the sky, which swiftly exploded like a firework.

Bang!

…

Chaotic Luck did not immediately step onto the battlefield, unlike previously. After all, he had reviewed the rules already for a deeper understanding this time.

He understood the rounds and the rotations worked a bit more clearly now.

Bang!

When he saw the fireworks coming from Arthur’s side, he knew that it was a signal for him to take this round.

Pursing his lips a little before stepping down from the platform.

This time, he was fully aware of his opponent, who would be from the Black Market. He fully prepared himself to face his opponent, who would most likely be as powerful as the previous experts who fought in earlier rounds.
