Child of Destiny

……

The other parties felt a bit strange after seeing how the battle ended.

Even Cobra, who was paying close attention to the battle, came up with an odd conclusion. He had concluded that Chaotic Luck was an incomprehensible player who could not be judged or understood by regular standards.

No matter how he tried to understand all the decisions that Chaotic Luck had made, he was unable to figure out any reason behind all of them, not even that final moment.

He was not sure if it was by accident or a calculated move masked as an ’accident’. It was too perfectly timed and magnificently angled to be an accident.

The angle itself was too coincidental, especially when it went around Soule and hid through his blind spot before hitting him.

It was too perfect to be coincidental, so Cobra and everyone else felt that it was calculated instead.

“This member of those guys sure is interesting,” said a person beside Cobra, who covered his entire being with a black cloak.

Cobra turned toward this person and gave the latter a respectful nod before saying. “He is an incomprehensible person, just like the Guild Leader has said.”

“You will only feel his strangeness once you have faced him in battle,” he paused for a moment when he reached this point, before continuing. “You will be confused whether he was truly an expert or a complete newbie prone to mistakes.”

“In battle, those so-called mistakes could either be the traps he set to lure his opponents to commit mistakes or just beginner mistakes in the first place.”

“Figuring out this person is incredibly hard. I doubt even the Guild Leader will have a hard time reading him,” he added, giving Chaotic Luck a lot of compliments.

On the other hand, the person beside him continued to stare at a certain platform before responding. “Serpent, that guy sure is talented when it comes to sly tactics and cunning style of fighting. He is a snake through and through.”

“It is not a surprise that the Big Bosses have chosen him to be the Guild Leader,” he added before smirking. “But compared to all of us, his battle capabilities are still on the inferior side.”

“Comparing us with those five monsters is a bit unfair, don’t you think?” said Cobra.

“I heard that they are finally joining the game. Have you heard which group they will be assigned to?” he asked.

“I am not sure about either, but I think that they will create a new unit separate from the Heads and the special group that we are in,” answered the latter.

…

In the meantime, Arthur smirked after seeing the outcome of the match. He and Leonard were the only ones who were clear about everything.

While everyone else was confused about the entire event, these two were already secretly laughing about the result.

“Not bad. At least that kid is able to show us a good improvement this time. However, the largest factor of his victory is still that unique ’weapon’ of his,” he mumbled before shaking his head. “If his opponent does not belong to the lesser Transcendent, then he will most likely encounter more problems.”

“It is a pity that the one who has fallen into his hands is someone from the Black Market and not those people from the Dragon Pavilion and Hydra Guild.”

“Now that they have gathered enough information, they will most likely be at war in the next encounter,” he clicked his tongue repeatedly alongside his shaking head.

After that, he picked himself up from his comfortable position and stood up. He had also dusted himself before showing his intention to step off the platform.

“Are you sure that you want to reveal yourself this early?” asked Aoki while furrowing his brows.

Arthur just shrugged his shoulders before responding. “What can I do? I am already itching for a good fight right now, and I can no longer suppress it either, so it is better to go early rather than wait in boredom.”

“Moreover, that stupid lion fanatic has basically revealed himself already, so there is no point hinting at it, Senior.”

He then paused for a moment before pointing at the people from the Hydra Guild, who seemed to be discussing something among themselves. “Look at those sly snakes. I am pretty sure that they have figured out our identity already, so there is no need to make a fuss over it.”

“Moreover, I have a feeling that the next person who will enter the stage is among the strongest people present in this trial,” he added before smirking. “A perfect opponent for my great self!”

The other three in his group could not help but roll their eyes at him. However, they did not stop him either since they knew that there was no point in it.

Arthur had already made up his mind, so they would not be able to stop him now.

In the meantime, the other parties were also getting ready for the next round, preparing the person that they would be sending.

This was especially true for the members of the Dragon Pavilion and the Hydra Guild, who were eyeing each other very closely.

As for the Black Market, they did not have to immediately send their people since their side just finished fighting. They might have lost, but that did not mean that they would have to send anyone to fight those monsters from these three parties.

Naturally, they also have to worry about the next round since either Chaotic Luck had to fight once again or they have to send their next combatant for it, saving themselves for the next rotation.

Either way, they hadto face one of the monsters from the three parties, which meant that it would be better to step up early. After all, they could avoid sending another person for the second rotation this way, where a much more intense competition would surely take place, especially when at least one of these three monstrous teams would lose one of their members after this rotation.

There was also another scenario that could happen. That was when Dragon Pavilion and Hydra Guild faced each other for this round, which would be most likely to happen given their ill-fated relationship.

This would then force the side of the Heavenly Resto-Bar to face Chaotic Luck, making this pair of allies fight against each other.

This scenario would be the best for everyone, even if the Black Market had to gamble for the next rotation after that battle.

This was also what the two Powerhouse Guilds were thinking, especially when it would work to their favor and fit interest.

Unfortunately for them, Arthur was also thinking about this, which was why he was already making his move right before the isolation barrier that was preventing them from stepping out of the platform disappeared.

Whoosh!

The moment when Chaotic Luck returned to his designated platform, the barrier covering the other platforms also disappeared almost at the same time.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Two figures quickly jumped off the platforms of the Dragon Pavilion and the Hydra Guild, respectively.

Unfortunately, someone was much faster than they were.

Arthur was already standing at the center of the grass field, seemingly appearing there out of nowhere. He did not even give the others a chance to snatch this round away from him.

“What!?”

“Huh!?”

The two representatives sent by the Dragon Pavilion and Hydra Guild, respectively, were still in the air when they saw Arthur already waiting for them.

Swoosh!

Midair, the one from the Dragon Pavilion, suddenly disappeared before reappearing on their platform. It signified that he was a step too late for this round.

That was reasonable since the class that the players of the Hydra Guild majored in speed, just like any other assassins and thieves within the game.

The person that they had sent was Cobra.

…

Cobra could not help but raise his brows when he realized what happened.

Their original plan was to weaken the side of the Dragon Pavilion members by sending him for this round. But he did not expect that the side of the Heavenly Resto-Bar would be much faster than they.

He did not know who he would be facing for this round, but he could at least make some guesses based on the information that they had at hand.

“Tsk! This is going to be annoyingly troublesome,” mumbled Cobra, especially when he had a feeling who he was facing.

Arthur, on the other hand, could at least recognize his current opponent after watching the previous trials.

“Cobra, huh? This is going to be a bit more exciting,” he mumbled with extreme excitement. “I have never fought against this guy before. I wonder how different he is compared to the thirteen heads of the Hydra Guild.”

Thinking about this, Arthur could not help but become more excited for this battle, unable to wait for it to start.

Boom!

While taking out his round shield and dragon spear, Arthur erupted with an intense pressure that swept throughout the grass field, which also created an illusion that he had turned into a real dragon.

Roar!
