A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 451: Chapter 451: Little Seraphina Elopes with Someone (Part 7)

”It seems this dating playbook really is flawed. It must work differently for different people, because the methods that work for others have absolutely no effect on you!” Terrence Grant glanced at the discarded roses. He’d picked them out himself!

”What?” Seraphina Sterling asked, looking at him with a puzzled expression.

”Don’t all girls like flowers? You’re the one who said we should go about dating the normal way. Giving flowers is the simplest, most basic step. I did exactly what you wanted, but isn’t your reaction a little... underwhelming? How is that not different from any other girl?”

Terrence Grant was utterly dejected. He had thought that after not seeing his Mrs. Grant for a few days, she would surely miss him and realize his importance. He had held back for so many days, forcing himself not to see her, but who would have thought it would have zero effect! She hadn’t even given the flowers a second glance! Mr. Grant, who was used to succeeding at everything, was about to be driven mad by the very concept of romance.

’So that’s what this is about.’ Seraphina Sterling suddenly felt immensely pleased and decided to tease him. ”Other girls? Are you saying you’ve chased after a lot of them?”

”Of course not! They’re the ones who throw themselves at me the second they see me! I’m this handsome, this charismatic—of course there’s a long line of people who like me! I don’t have to do a thing, and they just show up and confess their feelings! If I’d really chased after a lot of girls, I wouldn’t have wasted my time studying some so-called dating playbook. And it seems like even after all that research, it was for nothing! It’s completely useless!”

He had been planning this moment for a long time, eagerly anticipating the outcome. But he never imagined it would prove the old saying true: the greater the expectation, the greater the disappointment. She had absolutely no reaction! At this thought, even Terrence Grant couldn’t help but feel a little woeful.

”Like Skylar Thompson from the Thompson family?” Seraphina Sterling asked, raising a delicate eyebrow in a teasing smile.

”Ugh—you can just ignore that woman!” The mere mention of Skylar Thompson made his head throb. Seeing his pained expression, Seraphina Sterling decided not to press the issue.

”Besides, this isn’t the first time you’ve sent flowers. After so many times, I can’t be expected to have a big reaction every single time, can I? There’s a limit to everything; it’s possible to overdo it. You’re my teacher—you should understand that principle better than I do!” Her tone softened. Seeing Terrence Grant’s disappointed expression, she found she couldn’t bear it.

’I was just trying to soothe the man’s wounded pride, but why do I suddenly feel a dangerous tension filling the car? Did I say something wrong? Did I somehow manage to displease His Highness? Surely not...’

”Someone else sent you flowers before?” Three words were written all over Terrence Grant’s handsome face: ”I’m not happy.” ’How is his Mrs. Grant so popular! She can’t even attend her classes quietly! Someone beat him to sending her flowers? They stole his first time! He’d better not find out who it was!’

”Weren’t you the one who had the flower shop send them the other two times?” Seraphina Sterling was taken aback. When she saw him with the roses, she had assumed the previous deliveries were his doing as well. But seeing how incredibly displeased he looked, she guessed it wasn’t him after all.

”Was it that Marshal kid?” Terrence Grant’s mind started racing.

”It wasn’t Marshal! He said it wasn’t him!”

”Smart kid. He knows what’s good for him. Trying to court my woman? If I find out who it was, I will make them regret the day they were born for doing something so stupid!” Terrence Grant’s expression was thunderous, his face a mask of fury at being one-upped.

Seraphina Sterling: ... She was utterly speechless.

”Was it Wyatt Gallagher?”

”I don’t think so. He doesn’t even know which school I’m in, let alone which classroom I’m in for my lectures. There’s no way he could have had a flower shop deliver them directly to my classroom.”
